"And why are we wearing crowns again?"
The blonde didn't really mind the crown, sure it was a little bit embarrassing as they were almost grown adults walking down the street in their crowns but it wasn't like he really cared. Plus it seemed to make Bree happy, a happy Bree wasn't making his life difficult for him now was she? Plus the added bonus was that he might be able to actually sit down and do an essay without being constantly bugged about not spending time with her.
"Like I didn't think you were going to go out and buy them, I remember you saying but what's the occasion?" Were they going to go somewhere and it would all make sense as to why they were wearing the gold plastic decorations, or was this just out of the blue. |

KILLIAN CALLAHAN | "Always with the questions, Killian!" Bree exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air. "We're wearing crowns because we are kings, and we need something to differentiate us from the common filth."
Actually, they were mainly wearing crowns because Bree thought they were an excellent fashion statement. Killian would probably throw his out the first chance he got, but she was going to keep hers, at least until she found a jewelry store that sold crowns. Then she could steal one from them and just generally pillage their store, and then, she could throw out this plastic one.
"This is your kingdom, Killian." Bree continued to instruct him as they sauntered down the street. "Observe it well, and when you see a place that looks decent to eat at, stop there and buy me lunch." |

He was just curious, really he didn't see anything wrong with questioning Bree's intentions, though by now he should really know that by now it wasn't always a good idea.
After all, with this whole 'normal life' thing he was trying to lead it would probably be best to detach himself from his cousin but ... she was family after all. Besides he was getting lonely living all by himself, Bree was some welcome company. She was doing her job well though, he was starting to question everything ... well it was more like he was questioning if he could actually leave it all behind. After all, normality would mean cutting off all his family and he didn't think he could do that.
"Well that would make sense wouldn't it?" Killian replied, he hadn't taken it seriously when she had asked if he had a crown. Maybe he'd keep it, out of wanting to keep her happy and because it was something princes had wasn't it? It'd make him actually consider the question for once rather than immediately shooting it down.
"Nice to know, I didn't realise Nova had a monarchy," Killian responded with a grin, teasing his cousin. Still it seemed like the Martinelli's had every intention of sticking around which made him a little nervous. "Is that cafe to your liking King Bree, how about there?" he suggested, pointing at the place to the left of them. Despite being the 'king' it still didn't promise any perks such as getting his meals paid for ... |

KILLIAN CALLAHAN | How did Killian not know the island was a monarchy? What the hell did they teach him up at that university, if not that? Nova Athenis was most definitely a monarchy, ruled by the two of them. They were kings- though, now that she thought of it, 'emperor' would sound a bit more pleasing to the ears.
"Well, the monarchy shall one day become an anarchy, you know," Bree informed her sadly uninformed cousin. "So you had best enjoy your time in the spotlight while you can." Now that she thought of it, that could totally be a metaphor for Killian to enjoy his time as the mob's heir while he still could. Bree O'Malley was not only king of the island, but queen of the metaphors. Excellent.
She glanced over at the cafe Killian had pointed out, before heaving a royal sigh. "I suppose it shall do. Just so you know, you're paying. Lead on, King Killian." See? See how nice that sounded? Was Killian really ready to give up being a king just so he could cavort with the normal folk? If he was, he was stupider than she thought. |

An anarchy that Bree would be heading up, he had no doubt. Anarchy was something she was experienced in after all, she couldn't go anywhere without causing some kind of trouble now could she? It was just her nature to get into some kind of mischief, he wasn't going to stop it, she was old enough to deal with her own problems. As long as she didn't bring trouble to his doorstep then he really didn't care.
"I will then, no doubt about it," Killian assured her as they walked over to the cafe, listening to Bree complaining about it before they got there. "We can go somewhere else if you want, I really don't mind," he offered but no, it seemed that despite the faults that it somehow had it seemed that it was a location fit for visiting royalty.
"I had no doubt about it," it was customary for Killian to pay for everything when it came to their living arrangements; gas, electric, food, water, Killian paid for it all so why should this be any different. Pulling out the back of a chair, the blonde gestured to it with his hand. "After you King Bree". |

KILLIAN CALLAHAN | Bree slipped into the chair Killian had pulled out for her, making herself comfortable and ignoring the few odd stares that her plastic crown got her. "They teach you those manners in uni?" She inquired. Seriously, she still had no idea what he did at university. She had no idea what anyone did at university. It was a giant waste of time, in her opinion.
Spotting a waitress, Bree straightened up lightning-quick and flung her arm up into the air. "Server!" She called out imperiously, snapping her fingers. "Come hither and take the orders of myself and His Majesty. And if you get the order wrong, it's off with your head!" She drew her finger across her throat a slow and menacing fashion, grinning at her confused victim.

"My manners would stem from my father not majoring in English," Killian replied with a shrug. Whilst he was sure there were many lovely polite people in the books covered by the subject, his manners had been drilled into him as a child because they were the guidelines for the proper way to act. Just because they were the mob didn't mean that they had to act like savages, people tended to respect you more when you could conduct yourself in a civil manner anyway.
"Bree!" the Irishman hissed, smiling at the server. Jesus you couldn't just speak to people like that! Fighting the urge to kick his cousin under the table, Killian quickly picked up the menu and scanned it before passing it to the waitress. "I'd like a chicken salad please with some tap water. And Bree would you like to politely order what you want?" Hopefully without threatening the server again otherwise he really doubted that they would be allowed to stay here for much longer. |

KILLIAN CALLAHAN | Perhaps her parents had once tried to teach her manners. Bree couldn't quite remember. If they had, in any case, their lessons clearly hadn't stuck.
"Tap water?!" Bree exclaimed in horror, secretly enjoying herself. Or not so secretly. Her mirth was evident in the slight curl of her smile. "What do you take me for, a peasant? I'll take the bottled water. And I'll also have the chicken salad. Except make it better. Make it a meal fit for a ruler." With a flick of her hand, she dismissed the waitress. "Off you hop."
Bree observed the waitress bustling away, before turning her attention back to Killian. Leaning across the table towards him, she murmured, "Did you see that? She didn't even hop. I think that a trip to the guillotine is definitely in order."

"you know you like it but it drives you insane"
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | "I prefer the taste!" Killian protested, though that was only a half truth. It was free because it came out of a tap which meant that he could have water that tasted exactly the same without spending a penny. What was the point, one just came with a bottle and he was on a budget here! If Bree was going to order anything that was reasonably expensive
"Bree!" he hissed, shooting an apologetic look at the waitress before he left. He was going to have to give the lady a big tip for putting up with all this, as a waiter himself he knew how hard it was to deal with people like this.
"Calm yourself your majesty, we can't just be executing people left right and center or we'd have no subjects left now would we?" the Irishman reasoned.

KILLIAN CALLAHAN | Idly, Bree twirled one of her blonde locks, twisting and untwisting and twisting it again around her index finger. Propping both her elbows up on the table, she rested her head on her left fist as she smirked at Killian. "Who says I need subjects?" She queried. "Sure, I like having people slave after me as much as the next person, but there's just something so...appealing about a headless corpse."
Her eyes drifted away from Killian's face and gained a glassy quality as she stared off into the distance, thinking about all the fun she could have with a guillotine. Her smile never left her lips. Killian would never have smiled at the ideas running through her head, but then, Killian was a big baby. For the son of a mob boss, he really could be weak.
Of course, Bree thought most people were weak.
She snapped back to reality at the sound of a chair scraping against the floor as someone got up from their table. Not bothering to look around to source the noise, she instead flung out her foot to kick the shin of her cousin to gain his attention. "Killian, why don't you want to be a king?" Bree asked. And by that, she didn't mean a pretend king. What she was really asking was, "why don't you want to be the heir?". What she really meant was, "why do you want to be normal, when you can be so much better?" |

"you know you like it but it drives you insane"
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | "Every kingdom needs subjects," Killian replied. After all, if they didn't then what were they ruling over? Some empty land that was what, where was the fun in that? It was just trees and grass, you'd get lonely as in a few days. Besides, Bree's rule seemed a little more tyranical than fair, Monarchy didn't tend to have a lot of ruling power these days anyway.
"No headless corpses." There was just something a little bit to morbid in Bree's line of thinking, to the point where he wondered if he should take her to get mentally assessed or something. He just didn't want to come home to a murder scene one day.
A hiss of pain came out at the brutal attack on his shin, shooting the woman a glare as a hand came to touch the beaten area. What had that been for?
He could tell what she was alluding too, a hand came to stroke his chin as he pondered over the answer for a second. "I used to think it was because I wanted to be normal, I was envious of kids that got take their normal parents to school and do normal things," he finally replied. There was always some kind of lingering threat around his father, and it wasn't like he could bring him in to talk about what he did for a living at school could he?
"But now ... I don't know. Maybe I just wanted the option? Like, it's hard to explain. I didn't want to be forced down one route in my life, I wanted to chose if I wanted it." |

KILLIAN CALLAHAN | Killian had barely finished talking before Bree was rolling her eyes. Some people just always had to be so deep. It was a simple question; he didn't have to go pouring his heart out over it. "Killian," she sighed. "You're killing me. I didn't ask you for your life story. Yeesh!" Leaning back in her chair, she crossed her arms over her chest. When she shook her head, her multicolored bangs swayed.
"And to think, all I did in school was push other kids down staircases." She mused. She hadn't worried about any of the shit that Killian had gone about. She had just thrown building blocks at the students' and teachers' heads and lit fires in garbage cans in the bathrooms- when she hadn't been skipping school, of course. She had barely made it through high school herself. Bree couldn't understand how Killian had done his time in class and then gone back for more.
"This path rocks though. Dunno why you wouldn't want it." Being part of a crime family enabled her to do all the illegal things she loved- it was actually encouraged for her to do those things. Killian was just a wet blanket. No one liked a wet blanket. |

"you know you like it but it drives you insane"
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | "Well excuse me, thought you might be interested," Killian replied with a frown. She had asked after all, he was just giving her the full picture now wasn't he. That was how he felt about it all ... he felt like if she chose one then he was going to miss out on all the experiences that the others had.
Push kids down stairs? "Jesus, Bree that's not something to be proud of!" he replied as the drinks came to the table. Stuff like that was crazy, she could paralyse someone though he doubted Bree cared about something as 'trivial' as that.
"Many reasons, the main being we could go to prision and that's not in my grand life plan," the blonde replied, taking a swig of his water before placing the glass on the table, tapping his fingers lightly on the wooden surface. "Or dying. I'd like to live, get married, shit like that."

KILLIAN CALLAHAN | Prison? The idea made Bree shake with laughter. "You are funny!" She managed to gasp out, reaching forward and flicking Killian affectionately on the nose. "Prison! Ahh, you know how to make me laugh like no one else, Killy."
The law would never catch up with their family. They were too powerful. And the only way Bree would end up going to jail would be if she wanted to. She'd have to end up behind bars someday, eventually. Making a prison break was on her bucket list.
"Oh, aren't you a romantic." She teased her cousin, rolling her eyes yet again to show just what she thought of his life goals. "I hope your old man arranges a political marriage for you the sake of the mob. That'd be stupid funny." She would get a front row seat to that wedding and spend the entire time laughing. |

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | "It could happen, you never know when the lucks gonna run out," he replied with a frown. The police were cracking down on stuff like this he'd heard and whilst they had a lot of money and influence there were no guarantees. Especially since they weren't in Ireland anymore, they probably had more leverage there, that was where they had been for a long time, Nova was a relatively new adventure.
"Thank you, I try," he replied with a grin. It was true, he had romantic hopes and dreams, being in the mob didn't stop people falling in love and settling down now did it? Look at his parents, they'd been together for ages after all, had a beautiful boy (if he did say so himself) and showed no signs of splitting up!
The look on his face showed his clear disapproval for that idea, had Bree not being listening to his great life plan. Not only would he not be a heir if that happened, he wouldn't even be around anymore. Because he would have run away to Hawaii or something. "If I wake up and I'm engaged I swear to God I will blame you and I will never forgive you."
Because it would be Bree's fault. He just knew it would be.
