Petunia is a straight-laced herbivore. She believes in justice even when the police are shown to be corrupt and incapable, believes in weekly donations even though the charity group doesn't seem to be getting anywhere, but ultimately, this all boils down to one fact and one fact alone: Petunia is one of those rare breeds of people who genuinely believes in people, even if it'll hurt her in the end, she will give you unconditional faith.
She grew up with two loving parents on a farm, thus taking care of other things always came naturally to her. While she always thought of her parents with rose-tinted glasses, she believes they're in a better place now - in heaven playing with the angels after a terrible car accident during the family's holiday, where Petunia happened to be staying back at the hotel at the time. She was twelve, and hardly cried at the funeral; believed that her parents wouldn't want to go up to heaven if they saw her crying, but obviously the relatives got the wrong impression.
Petunia moved in with her grandparents in Northern Nova Athenis, who assumed a fair amount of money after winning the lottery a while ago. Her grandparents were careful, yet selfish people; every cent of their lottery money is safe in the bank to go towards a grand retirement. They think of Petunia as a delusional flower, but treat her fairly well, in the sense that she gets left alone and gets fed.
