[attr="class","aprh"] YOU'RE MY FAVOURITE DRUG | The small bells attached to the front door of the bookstore jingled lightly as Cristin entered. It had been a while since she came in here to search for a new book to read and that was exactly what she came here for today. Her heart was craving for some romance filled with sweet flowers or touching sorrow. She really did love the romance genre. That was something that really wasn't a secret from those around her. They were all used to having her nose stuck in a romance novel twenty-four seven on ends until she finishes it. The same goes for shoujo mangas.
Eyes scanning the shelves and one slender finger trailing down the rows of books, she made her way towards the romance section where she stopped to decided which on to pick out to have a look at. Seeing a title that caught her interest, she reached for it, only to have her fingers met with those of another. Her fingers curled slightly as a reaction. She looked up at the person and smiled. "Sorry 'bout that," she said. She then beckoned towards the book with her hands. "Feel free to take it."

that was you Angel hadn't picked up a book in years. He couldn't remember ever actually having read a book cover-to-cover, actually. Nevada, on the other hand, loved to read. It was all he ever did, unless Angel managed to pull him away from his books to do something else. Something actually fun.
The musty, dank little bookstore was hardly Angel's idea of someplace fun, that was for sure. But he needed a Christmas gift for Nevada, so he pushed open the door, wrinkled his nose at the smell and pushed his sunglasses up onto his head.
He wove between shelves until he found the romance section, barely taking notice of the other customer as he reached for the first spine that caught his eye. His fingers brushed the other woman's and he glanced over, raising a brow but taking the offer.
Angel slid the novel from the shelf, took a glance at the cover and scoffed. "People actually read this stuff?" He held up the book so she could see, and hopefully voice agreement.

"Don't shit on romance novels. They're good."
A voice rang out from the nearest table, somehow both cutting like a knife and sounding rather depressed at the same time. Anna's eyes glared daggers at Angel, her finger jabbing into her schoolbook to hold her page. She didn't normally hang out outside her house, and usually never at a bookstore, but she needed to find some resources for a class. And she kind of actually cared a little about this one.
Luckily for her self confidence, she was sitting down at one of the small tables available, so her legs weren't completely in view. Otherwise she probably wouldn't have said anything. But it was on now. No one looked down on her romance novels. Not even this person that, honestly, looked like someone right out of her old clique.
"If you have a problem with someone's taste in good literature, you should probably just shut your mouth instead." Anna turned up her chin a little bit, looking a little bit like her old self in high school for the first time in a while. "Honey, just take the book back." Anna tilted her head quickly towards Cristin to let her know she was on her side, "He's obviously not going to appreciate it."

[attr="class","aprh"] YOU'RE MY FAVOURITE DRUG | Cristin blinked as the person mocked the book they were both reaching for. Her eyes trailed to the cover and over the picture and title as well as the author's name. What was his problem? Might she tell him that this author was actually pretty good in what she wrote, which was obviously the romance genre. And what was this? Was he judging a book by its cover? Didn't his elementary school teacher teach him that? Guess not or he never paid attention.
She was about to voice her opinion because really, no one trashes on romance novels. You don't like it? Then keep harsh comments like that to yourself. However, someone else beat her to it. Cristin couldn't help but allow a small smirk to slip onto her face in small triumph at having someone take her side of the matter.
"She has a very good point, you know?" Cristin said, reaching out for the book in the stranger's hand and pulling it right out from his grasp. "I don't have a problem with it if you don't like romance novels, but please do keep harsh words like that to yourself."

that was you Angel arched a brow at the sound of a voice piping up behind him, and he turned to see the girl who had spoken, sitting at a table like some goddamn pretentious nerd. He felt the book pulled from his hand, and he whirled back at Cristin, scowling.
He could have cared less about the book itself, honestly. He was sure that Nevada would be overjoyed that Angel had even considered him, regardless of the actual gift. It was probably something he'd already read.
But when somebody took something from Angel, he had to take it back.
Eyes narrowed, he snatched for the dumb book back. "Hey," he snapped "I never said I wasn't gonna get it."

Anna gave Angel an unimpressed look, even slipping her hand out from her book to she could rest her head on it and look as doubtful as possible. This was proving to be a situation. But Anna liked the red head girl. She had good taste in books. Anna would probably like the blond bombshell over there a lot more if they met under other circumstances, but oh well.
"Alright, but like, she was gonna enjoy it in the first place," Annabel was trying to keep her voice from sounding so snappy, but it only worked so well, "There's about a thousand other books here to get. You being an ass to her earlier pretty much warrants that you should give her the book she wanted."
Anna shifted her hips on the chair and gave Angel her best model glare. She would have crossed her legs, and she even tightened her muscles to do it inpusilvely for a moment it's pretty hard to do with the Proth. That was her prosthetic. It was much better just calling it the Proth. Felt less medical and also sounded like an insult.
