if people didn’t want their cats to run off (or if they didn’t want him to scoop them up) then they shouldn’t leave them outside. that was how he figured it, and it made him feel a little better when he started to think about little girls or old ladies missing their kitties. it helped a bit. it also helped that cats were incredibly adorable and thus it was hard to feel bad for long while holding one.
he had recently snatched one out of a backyard, and though the white fluffball had squirmed around in the beginning, it had accepted its fate by now and was clutching onto his chest as he carried it. he doubted the owners would notice it had disappeared for a while so there was no reason for him to stuff it under his shirt just yet. right now, he had to decide what to do with it.
scratching behind the cat’s ear, he walked lazily, his nose scrunching up in thought as he ran through his options. he really needed some money, so there was no way he could keep this one, despite its soft fur and its round blue eyes and its rumbly purr - no, he couldn’t keep it! perhaps he could sell it to a nice family who would love and take care of it. if he saw any reward posters from its original family, he might take it back. there were so many things he could do! oh, he wished addie was there, he could help him decide.
disheartened, louie sat down on the bench his feet had taken him to. except it wasn’t a bench he sat on. he sprang back up to his feet, the kitten mewing loudly. ”addie! i was just thinking how i wanted to see you, and there you are!” he squeezed the cat lightly to his chest. "oh happy day!"
