Sajjad grew up under the teaching of a small, but growing, sect of eastern religion. They worship a single Goddess, whom is the embodiment of good and peace. It is a celebration of femininity and while females are needed for many roles in the church, males are not. They are certainly welcome however, and are also important in the history and mythos of the sect. One of the most important stories of their worship is the one that explains why they hide their faces. It tells of a girl who was kind and beautiful all her life. One day, something happened to her and her face was disfigured. While sad, the girl continued to be kind and tolerant of all, even though few returned it to her. The Goddess saw this and spoke to the girl. She told her she was the most beautiful soul of all, and that none could compare to her beauty. She did not have to show anyone her fairness is she did not wish it. So the head scarf and mask were born into the religion.
Sajjad and her mother were both raised in one of this religion's establishments. Sajjad had contact with her father, but at an early age took to the teachers well and choose to stay. She quickly was one of the most devoted of the other there and at around the age of 20, decided to leave her country and keep her faith alive somewhere else. This somewhere ended up being America, where she got her schooling in computers. While she had no interest in machines to begin with, when she was looking into it, someone told her it was not a field for women. She signed up for the classes immediately and now works from home, managing thousands of virtual servers every day.
Moving around was something Sajjad enjoyed for a while, but settled down into Nova several years back and remained attached to the place. While never feeling the need to convert others, she enjoys keeping her faith's values alive by helping others and defending those she sees who cannot defend themselves.
