Since the holidays are coming up and I couldn't do a Secret Santa or give holiday cards to people... I wanted to show my appreciation with this thread instead. I meant to do it sooner. It has been more than a month since I joined but stuff keeps happening, I forget, etc.
Anywho, I wanted to start off by saying that I am grateful to have been accepted on Ambrosia. Joining new sites are difficult, especially when you don't know anybody beforehand. It wasn't for lack of trying; I did attempt to get some of my friends on here, but they would not come. Not for anything anybody on here did to them - I doubt they knew who any of you are, or even encountered you in the past - or about the site in general. They were probably busy with their own stuff. I didn't know I knew Zephyr from a former site, or that I knew SeySey/Kitty Cat from a site long ago. No, I was just a newbie feeling very self conscious and nervous.
But you guys welcomed me anyway. You weren't like other sites that on the surface welcomed new people and then when the novelty wore off ("hey we got more members... let's ditch them now and retreat back into our circle of awesomeness!") you went back to your own group of friends. No. Ambi welcomed me into the fold. It was refreshing to not see that I had to stay on the site for years in order to be accepted, or suck up to the senior members to just plot with the big-leaguers. Everybody was equal in terms of RP. I liked that. So I stayed.
I'm also very grateful that I could join around the time that Ambi had it's anniversary. I can't wait to see what is in store and what the staff have planned. I'm sure it's fantastic! I want to take the opportunity right now to thank the staff for making the site a friendly, safe place to come to. It's like a second home to me. Also, Electric for the pretty skins. ;3
I've come to make some good friends on here, but I won't single anybody out. I'm still relatively new in my own eyes, and there are plenty of opportunities to make more friends, RP partners, etc.
Anyway, that's my gift to Ambi for the holidays. A grateful member who was brought in and greeted with kindness, just like all the other newcomers. She hopes she stays as long as humanly possible on Ambi and contributes in her own way to the site.
