let it all out @nan06 When he said that there was nothing holding him down in Nova, Trevor fucking meant it. Maybe if his mom was still alive, he'd stick around to watch everything crumble and burn like it always did - but instead he found that with her gone and his father a raging alcoholic, there was no need. So he moved out, got his own apartment, had a space for Heidi to run to if things ever got as shady in her place like it did in his. It worked out, it really did - he liked it, even.
The shady apartment was comfortable, to say the least. Somehow it managed to house both he and Heidi comfortably, but he couldn't say that he was happy with it.
If Heidi wasn't happy, then what was the point?
So she came up to him one day. Told him that she wanted to leave, leave this shitty town behind and never look back. He had to say, he didn't feel remorse as he packed up his things and walked out the door with her. The owner of the complex would find out he left soon enough, the rest of the month's pay left on the counter.
After what felt like a long ferry ride - as well as a considerably longer bus ride - the two of them were free.

Heidi glances at her partner-in-crime turned boyfriend(?) and shrugs. "Probably should yeah." She's not very helpful is she? This was her suggestion though, her mouth said the words 'I want to leave this shitty fuckin' town.' and Trevor made it happen. Heidi still can't wrap her head around the fact they actually did it. They actually left their little island of Nova and everyone behind in it. She's relieved and a little upset, she never graduated, but she figures she'll live.
Her eyes catch on a blinking motel sign and she reaches out to grab Trevor. She still doesn't know where to grab, his hand, his arm? This is weird, she's spending too much time thinking about it and just reaches for him and points at the motel, "We could crash there."

let it all out @nan06 It's shady, but it would do the trick. He's not sure that he'll like it, but it should do well for one night. Plus, he's not sure how much farther either of them would be able to go before having to stop anyway. As much as he'd like to keep going, put as much distance between himself and that town as possible, it probably won't happen in just one day.
Not to mention that he's used to Heidi's neutral takes on his suggestions anyway. He's used to making the decisions for the both of them. Nodding, he walks over to the building that usually would be the place to get a key and pay for rent or whatever - doing exactly that.

Heidi nods and takes the key. She counts doors until she finds the number that belongs to them. She shoves the key into the lock and wiggles it a bit because it doesn't go in all the way. She turns the key and shoves the door open. She flicks on the lights and shuts the door behind her.
There's one bed, not a big deal, it's not like they've never shared a bed right? She sighs and throws the keys in a random direction. They luckily land on a table and Heidi throws herself on the bed. It doesn't smell as shitty as she thought it would surprisingly. She crawls up to the pillows and waits for Trevor to come in, she hopes it's soon. @trevor, idk shit post sry

After he forked over a handful of cash, he nodded to the guy - someone who made a few gross comments about how he thought the two of them were going to 'get it on'. Rolling his eyes, Trevor held back the urge to punch the guy in the face and walk out. Great exit. Heidi would be proud, at least.
Deep breath. He counted the doors, one hundred, one hundred one, one hundred two and in he went. There was only one bed, which wasn't much of a problem. Instead, he crawls up next to her, reaching out to hug her.
They're runaways now.
"How are you feeling?" He doubts that either of them are really tired, they'd been on ferries and buses all day getting as far away from Nova Athenis as possible. Yet, he still doesn't feel like it's far enough. "If you ever want to turn around and go back, we can- you know that, right?"
