A VICTIM OF A SELFISH KIND OF LOVE @claudia ❀ | What a better way to open up his day than a dull throb to remind him that he was, in fact, not looking forward to the day. A reminder that he really wasn't necessary, but he wasn't going to complain. It only reminded him of how much he detested the human race, how he really could only put up with even his Biddle for short spurts of time. It was why he liked cats, with them being solitary and only needing attention every so often.
He had ordered a coffee earlier, and because he was without company like most people in the cafe, he was left to stew in his own thoughts. That girl from the other night - Claudia? - who left him with a sliver of hope for the world. Didn't she work in some cafe?
Was it this cafe?
Leaning back, Caeden lifted his head from his hands to see if he saw a familiar head of blue bobbing about. Maybe it would make his stomach drop, even if just a little bit. |

Claudia was, as always, on time, bright and early for her morning shift, though as the first rush of customers trickled in there wasn't much to do. Not until they all finished and left her to wipe down tables and toss out leftovers. For now, she stood off to the side, helping where she could, when she spotted a familiar person slumped at one of the tables.
Well, not too familiar - his name was still well imprinted into her mind, Caeden. She remembered he worked at a bar and had a cute kitten. She wondered if he remembered her, chewing on her lip and rocking back and forth on her heels before she decided to take the plunge and say hi anyways.
"Good morning!" She chirped, plopping down onto the seat across from Caeden and smiling at him expectantly.

A VICTIM OF A SELFISH KIND OF LOVE @claudia ❀ | Coffee. He needed coffee. Even if caffeinated drinks were getting on the verge of doing worse things to him than alcohol, it was like a parasitic relationship. To be honest, if he could just stop drinking coffee and feel no side effects from it, he probably would.
Then came the girl who plopped down across from him, causing him to move his hand away to blink over at her. "Good morning, uhm." He remembered her, he knew it. Had the name like his Aunt. "Claudia." To be honest, he felt pretty good at remembering her name, considering he was growing increasingly bad at remembering them.
"How has your morning been?"
Might as well humor her. |

She watched him with eyes wide in anticipation. It seemed he was hitting a wall with recognition, though before she could offer a reminder, he broke through. She nodded, leaning forward with elbows pressed to the table between them.
"Good." Claudia replied with a smile. "Yours?" She rested her chin in the palm of her hand, tilting her head as she looked him over. He looked exhausted, he looked hung over, and little worry slipped into her expression. "Not so good?" She ventured.
