The main streets on Nova are always busy and jam-packed. Tucked in a little spot around a corner that isn't too under visited but never too busy is a little school, if you can call it that. It's where people who don't speak English as a first language go to be taught, or to get help with their English. Qianfang thinks English is a stupidly hard language but he loves it anyway.
Right now, he's sitting at a table with an empty chair across from him, waiting for his next appointment. A lovely lady by the name of Claudia, she's someone he remembers clearly because when she came to register at the school the first thing he thought of when he saw her was the price he could sell her eyes for. She made that kind of impression on him.

Claudia had studied English back in Brazil, but sitting in a classroom reviewing grammar rules was very different from actually being confronted with the language - surrounded by it. She had picked up a lot very quickly out of necessity, but she thought some lessons couldn't hurt. There was an English school she passed on her way from work, and she had registered for a tutor, and today was her first meeting with him.
She makes it just in time, rushing into the little school and plopping down into the seat across from the man that looks to be waiting for her. "Hello!" She says brightly, tucking hair behind her ear, smiling at the man.

Qianfan pulled on a confident, friendly smile as Claudia walked into the room. He was here to teach her English, not think about how much he could sell her body parts for. That was sort of a given though, with how he was raised and all. He makes a shitty attempt to push the thoughts from his mind, they won't stay gone for long though. "Hello... Claudia was it?" He knows exactly what her name is actually. "I'm Qianfan, I'll be tutoring you from now, until you think you're ready to stop learning." Qianfan hopes that won't be for a while though.

"Yes!" She affirms with a nod, as she settles into her seat, pulling her bag onto her lap as she looks at the man sitting across from her. He speaks slowly enough and enunciates - he has experience with people who don't speak English very well, after all - though luckily Claudia can understand better than she can speak.
She holds a hand out over the table. "Very... nice to meet you." She doesn't have any sense of anything being particularly wrong or different. Qianfan is unusual looking, but she doesn't think it's necessarily in a bad way. He seems nice so far.

Qianfan pulls a smile, "It's very nice to meet you as well." He shakes her hand for a brief moment before re-settling into his seat. He looks her over for a second, sizing her up in a way. It's a habit he guesses. "How many years have you been learning English, Claudia?" Where he starts depends on the extent of her knowledge, it's vital.

"She looks up at the ceiling for a moment, counting out the years in her head. "I learned in school, English. Since… eleven years old." She sounds a little unsure. When she says it like that, it seems she should know the language a lot better. "But I was not very… good student." She admits with a laugh. Now she wished she had paid more attention in class.

"Well, a bad student is better than not a student at all." Qianfan pulls his lips in a smile. "We'll start with the basics, unless you have something in mind that you'd like to start with?" Qianfan would prefer not to start at the beginning. English is a hard language to explain, let alone learn if it's not your first language. He's silently thankful that Claudia has some knowledge about it, starting without a base is something he'd never like to experience.
