DREW WINCHESTER TWENTY-TWO - FEMALE - POST GRAD STUDENT/HERBALIST instead of for somebody else it's all right to smile just for yourself |
PERSONALITY
positive: realistic, thoughtful, kind, intelligent, humble
negative: insecure, pessimistic, impatient, unfocused, anxious

OTHER
-- Drew Winchester is from Toronto, Ontario. Therefore she is Canadian. She spent some time on the island during vacations and would know some of the locals. Instead of a typical cottage, her parents have a vacation house on Nova that Drew uses as residence. Her family is well off, but not enough to be called rich.
-- Drew is an only child, and that works out just fine for her. She has never had to share anything in her life with another person and does not envy other people for having siblings. In fact, people who are happy to have siblings always seems to confound her.
-- Education wise, Drew went to university as soon as she finished high school. She has a Master's Degree in Psychology but does not have her PhD yet, meaning she cannot legally treat anyone yet. She is in Nova to complete her PhD - which will take her four to five years - volunteering at the hospital and other practices. She aims to be a child psychologist. Because she was educated in Canada, the terms and time she was in school are different. A Master's Degree is a Bachelor's, while a PhD is a Doctoral.
-- Her interest in Herbology stems from an unwillingness to take medication. She believes that other doctors think that medication will solve all your problems, so she researched another alternative. She has a side degree in Herbalism and has a small business she runs out of her house.
-- Drew had a secluded childhood that is the root of many of her problems. She was home schooled and didn't have friends, leading to her being shy and slightly anti-social. Her mother did not want their only child to "bother herself" with chores, so Drew grew up with no responsibilities and low expectations that border on insecurities. The first time she was thrown into the world was university and she had a complete mental breakdown prior to going.
-- She switched courses in the middle of the summer - luckily she had the grades and there was an open spot - after she was diagnosed with clinical depression and started seeing a psychologist of her own. She originally wanted to university to be a veterinarian, but she saw how psychologists help people and wanted to feel a sense of accomplishment. That and... well, she didn't want to deal with dead animals.
-- She couldn't have gotten through university without the help of peer support groups and weekly visits to her psychologist. She handled the workload well, as there were a few girls in her course that offered to help out, including a teacher who understood if she handed things in a day late. Eventually Drew adjusted enough to do things on her own. Though there were a few bumps along the road like projects not handed in or her not being able to speak in front of the class...
MISC:
-- Drew stands at exactly 5'9" and weights 110 pounds. Her birthday is June 31st. Her favourite animal is an Egyptian Fruit Bat, though she likes cats well enough.
-- As mentioned, Drew suffers from clinical depression. She also has anxiety - both social and normal - and androphobia. She takes medication for the first two unwillingly, but there is no medication for the last. Androphobia is a fear of men, and because of her rather sheltered lifestyle this developed from her social anxiety. Besides her father, she doesn't know how to talk to the opposite gender. She will go very far out of her way to avoid men, though she can handle children. Hence her wanting to become a child psychologist.
-- A bit of a night owl, Drew can be seen wandering around suitable places (meaning places she thinks are safe) after dark if she isn't at her home. She has insomnia and won't admit that she does.
-- She loves to read, both modern and old literature. The young woman doesn't like poetry and will stare at you as if you have an extra head if you ever recited a poem. Ironically though, she will still try to figure the meaning of it for several hours. She's a bit slow when it comes to poetry.
