[attr="class","blabber"]  from Brooklyn, New York. She was born and raised there - and yes, I try to replicate the accent in my threads with her. But she also has European ties, specifically a blended Brookish and Italian accent. If you're unsure if what I said, I'll be happy to add a note somewhere. I try to make it as painless as possible. Anyway; Darci grew up on the streets with her twin bro and her widowed - often drunk - father. They had no family that would take them in so the kids resorted to stealing to help their dad out. They never went to school, so she is almost illiterate. Darci had ties with gangs and the black market as she grew up. Dad died when she was fifteen. She was sent to juvie shortly after. Years passed and was released, smuggled on a cruiser to Nova and boom. She's here now. Has no place to go, no money. Certainly no friends. She does work the odd job from time to time, but things "mysteriously" go missing, leading to her sudden departure of said job. She really does want to better herself somehow, but doesn't really know how. Crime is all she knows. Despite being a thief, she is a street-smart thief after juvie for stealing. She knows how to control her compulsions and only steals these days to support herself. Well, she does take things that don't belong to her anyway. It's hard to kick a habit. ----- WANTED STUFF -----FRIENDS; a couple of buddies wouldn't hurt. she likes hanging around with guys more than girls, but will hang around with those of her own gender if persuaded. she can seem a bit harsh at first, but that's her accent. she's very nice and a good person. she'd stick her neck out for somebody she just met, but she's also cautious. she doesn't form attachments. she doesn't /trust/ easily. ENEMIES; a few things piss Darci off. messing with her buds. messing with her stuff. messing with her. she's also super appreciative of things 'cause she's poor, so if you moan and groan and bitch that you have NOTHING when you obviously have more than her (a roof over your head, parents, steady food, etc), you're gonna piss her off. it's a good chance she's gonna rob you if you do that because you have so little. she's surprising strong for somebody so tiny, so if you want to pick a fight she will bring it. ROMANCE; I have... a few people who are interested in her. I don't think any more would be wise. But she's young and bound to have crushes and flirt. one-sided love on her or on your character is finnnne. SPECIFICS; I'd love for her to get a mentor as a thief. I'd love for her to have old business acquaintances/aka criminals. I'd love for her to meet up with criminals from juvie. Or maybe a bully or two from her days in the Apple. 22, POST GRAD STUDENT/HERBALIST
[attr="class","blabber"]  Drew doesn't take much risks in life. She is a very cautious, very careful person. She has an over-active imagination that sometimes makes her anxiety act up. She freaks out about the smallest things, but you wouldn't know it because she keeps it all inside. Although humble, shyly so, she does have a high opinion of herself in some ways. She gets mad when she is assigned tasks that she thinks are "beneath her", especially when it comes to her education. She worked hard to get where she is, after all. Drew was home schooled almost all her life. Before that, she frequented Nova Athenis every year where her folks have a summer house on the beach. She lives there now while completing her PhD, expecting to become a child psychologist. she also is a licensed herbalist, running a store out of the house. she mixes organic medicine, bath oils, etc. She has a poor memory except when it comes to things that interest her. Tell her your name and she'll forget it the next day, but she'll memorize all the villains in a Batman comic. She gets lost easily and sleeps poorly. She also has androphobia, the fear of men. ----- WANTED STUFF -----FRIENDS; drew gets along best with people she has stuff in common with. she reads a lot, plays video games, watches TV shows and movies, surfs the net, reads comics and is an all around nerd. she is invested in her education and work, and somewhat shyly will tell others about it - she doesn't think people are that interested. she really loves science and thinks about all things science and logical, but is spirited away by many, many volumes of mythology and lore. anyone she can talk to about interests are probably going to stick around more. ENEMIES; she works constantly, volunteering her time to the elementary school and hospital. when she isn't working, she's mixing herbs. she doesn't go out much and mingle, so i don't see her having enemies. but she is very invested in, say, her friend's enemies. yeah, she's one of those people. if you don't like that person, she won't like them either. ROMANCE; drew is heteroromantic. she is asexual but goes for guys. cause of her phobia, she doesn't much like being touched by men. so whoever goes for her must understand and be patient. on the other hand, i'm not sure who drew will go for. they can be pushy, an asshole...etc. i can see her developing more if she had a challenge, so ship away! SPECIFICS; I want customers. I need customers for her herb shop. also if somebody would want a part-time job helping out around said shop? 25, INNKEEPER
[attr="class","blabber"]  owner of the Teacup Inn in East Nova, Tiena Argall is a friendly face to most of the natives and tourists. Despite not being a "true" native, Tea lived on Nova since she was eight and considers herself one of the fold. She lives at her inn on the top level, well away from her patrons. The rooms there are reserved for family and friends. She is a charming young lady who works hard to achieve what she all ready has and will open her doors to anybody in need. It's not uncommon for her to rent rooms to poor souls that need a place to stay, but in exchange they must work during their time there. Teaching them responsibility and all that. Tea treats her staff like an extended family. She isn't the sort of employer to not learn their names, not bother about them. She takes a personal interest in their well being, to the point where she will stress herself out. And if somebody can't find the money to buy appropriate clothing for work, or has torn their work clothes, she will make clothing for them. It'd be horribly frilly or too formal and cute, but she'll give it to you with a big smile on her face. She also throws amazing parties and is prone to give you a heart attack on your birthday. Her biggest issue is that she cares too much about other people and not enough about herself. She's reckless and stresses out easily. She focuses too much on work. She's also terribly gullible. People can easily manipulate her. What I want for her currently is STAFF for her Inn, PATRONS and BUSINESS PARTNERS. Cause she will order stuff from you to sell at her place. Friends? Sure. She's a sweet gal. She's bound to have people she knows from work, old friends, acquaintances, etc. I can't imagine she'll have enemies. Business rivals, maybe. Love... Love... Like Darci, she is a romantic. She's just more open about it. She reads the novels, loves getting presents, daydreams and gets flustered easily. YUN MO - mo yun is a thief, but not the streetrat sort. she's more like batman because she's got some neat gadgets and she works high-risk high-reward jobs. as far as the underworld goes, they'd have mutual aquaintences that could lead them to a meet. i think they're neat to compare because they are two very different sorts of thief. ORNELLA BELLEFLUER - if she's a romantic deep down, i think ornella would make an interesting thread. ornella's very fantasy minded. she's a well to do pastry chief that makes glorious treats. she has the power to create things out of love, so if you find yourself with a fun little romance plot, idk, ornella could be meddlesome if you like! also, she'd probably give darcel a cupcake bc she has pretty eyes. @junk - total bum. he's probably too poor for darcel to bother stealing from and he's very much an asshole. he's like that punk with all the swag in the world and not a parent or guardian tenacious enough to keep him in check. hes an anarchist, man, and his peeps arent the most gracious lol. as for crushable, he's not all too savor. maybe darcel could see something in him? id put my money on her hating his guts. |

ted would absolutely adore sharing love stories with her, as he's very much a sap for them as well! he would lend her books upon her asking and perhaps buy her some too simply because he's nice like that and would be too sheepish to ask for them back, so stealing them would be easy for her if you want to go that way, ^^
if he found out about her little thief lifestyle he would obviously be a little like a disappointed mother, although would not try to force her not to do it so much as advising her to be careful. she can rely on him to give her a place to hide if she needs it if they become close, cx
he's british and it's noticeable, so they could connect over the fact neither of them are natives to the island. anything else you can think of just throw it in, ^^

Darcel & Maverick
Maybe these two met each other at a gig Maverick's band plays at? Because if there's a large group going off to see a band there's going to be wallets for Darci to snatch while the audience was busy watching the shows, you know~ And like, when the show was over and everyone was going to the show's after-party, she tries leaving with her goods, but is stopped by the albino kid? Hey, she's hot, there's no way he'd miss out on a chance to flirt with her. I can see these two getting along rather well too with how similar they are in personalities.
Now the ideas I'm tossing below are totally optional~
Depending on how long Daci's been living in Nova Athenis, maybe these two have had a fling in the past? Like when they were together, it was all fun and whatnot, but because they live totally different lives - he's a constantly moving rock star and she's a thief on the streets, it just wasn't going to last. Also, it's totally up to you if Mav was aware of her life of thievery.
Or another route they could take...
They could be flirt buddies but never took it to the next step. And maybe through threading the rest of their relationship could develop into something else? Sorry, these plots are kind of poor. </3

YUN MO: lol I love comparing these two. Batman and...Robin Hood. Darci steals to survive, but she can get pretty impulsive. She's like a bird. Something shiny? Gogogogogogo. She simply must have it. She would probably pester Yun Mo about her 'jobs' and ask to be taught in Batman-mode. I can only see a high-risker like Yun Mo and a commoner Darci meeting through a black market jig. Yun Mo seems below petty gangs.
ORNELLA BELLEFLUER: d'aww. Darci would gladly accept that cupcake. she likes people flattering her Ornella seems a kind girl. Darci, having no money or job, would probably wander aimlessly past her shop (questionable if Orne has a shop, I do not know) for days. Belly rumble at the right moment, and boom! Ornella comes rushing out. Instant friendship.
@junk: Darcel... I can see her relating to him in some way. He's poor. Doesn't have a grand standing with his father. Her own father was a drunk who gambled what money they had away. In her own mind, she'd be like "hey he's like me" and wouldn't be so offended by his nature. Love/hate relationship maybe.
@teddybear: bah! she's not a sap! who told you that? nobody! that's right; nooooobody. My goodness I can see many things happening with Ted. He's adorable for one. Another, Darci never went to school. She learned all her stuff on the street. Home schooled by her father when he wasn't drunk, so to speak. He'd probably notice she has a slow time reading or counting things, and probably be all "do you need help?" and she'd be all "OFFENDED NO D8 ...but secretly yes." Make up a story how she didn't get good grades or somethin'. She doesn't like people to know she is poor.
Another thing is she accidentally manipulates him. Seems like a nice guy, he buys her things and she's all "haha, you're mine now" sorta thing. Gets possessive of him in a sisterly way, is affectionate, etc. Might mistake it for something more, poor guy. D8 I dunno. I'm throwing things at you!
@mav: it's SeySey! I'm sorry, I'll probably always think of you as SeySey. x'D Because there are like, many cat related usernames here. Anywho. Yes, I like the first part. Band playing. Lots of purses to steal. Damn. It's a good time to look like a groupie, yeah? And then she's all "oh snap, that dude from the band knows I stole he had a front view I'm screwed" and tries to break for it. Maybe he follows her. It's a big crowd. He knows the arena better than her. And Maverick cuts her off and is like "hey babe". pfft. I dunno. xD
Realizing she ain't in trouble, Darci is on offensive. They become buddies. I like that. Flirt buddies. Nothing really happens, it's all talk. Maybe something happens along the thread route, who knows? She's only been here two months, by the way. Still gets lost. Enough for a handsome gent to help her get her bearings.

Would be neat to figure out the dynamic of their relationship via threading. would you want to thread out the meeting, or skip it and generalize how it went along?
orne/d - yeah she has a shop. its called irresistibly sweet and its got a board somewhere. i have a really cool idea if ornella fostered trust with d with cupcakes. sort of tamed her? ornella's got this dragon egg that she needs help raising, and, i think i'd test darcie? if ornella would leave it in her care, would she sell it? would she feel bad about the idea of selling it and chicken out? wanna be a coparent?

JULIUS & DARCEL asalgag an american! and from new york, nonetheless! i knew from the moment i read darcel was raised there that i just /had/ to take advantage of such a detail and plot with her, 'cause seriously, what are the chances! like, my character, julius, was also from new york, and has recently moved to nova athenis, so i'mma ramble a bit just to organize my thoughts- back in america, darcel had her life on the streets while jules lived a pretty privileged lifestyle; she had to steal to survive, mingle with a bad crowd, while he had stability and was surrounded by good influences. the list goes on with the contrasts, but i think their lives have one thing in common, a point of intersection: they're both linked to criminals. that is, julius' family are on the side of law, so they pursue mobsters and the like, and since darcel is somehow affiliated with gangs as well as thievery, maybe her and jules could have met through that vein. like, he'd be loitering around the community while his cop!father's conducting some investigation concerning a string of robberies a block or two away, and he could happen to bump into darci? of course, he won't assume the worst of her, and since she's around his age, he'd try to befriend her (like, what's the harm in that, right?). whether or not she responds, the next time he comes around as his father does police work, he'd probably go in search of darci, curiosity piqued. after a couple of meetings, perhaps they could become friends, and since it's apparent julius is a boy from an upper-class family, darci could see it as an opportunity to steal from him? so when he offers her to come for dinner at his house, she'd accept (after lying that her parents were okay with the invitation). during dinner, she could slip away with a bathroom excuse and begin to snoop around the place for valuables, and like- this is where she gets caught for attempted theft by julius' cop!father and is then sent to juvenile detention? or idk, we could scrap that, and say darcel and julius become close enough to where julius knows of darcel's homeless situation and when she confesses a plan to rob a store in full trust that he won't tell anyone since they're supposed to be tight, he goes and tells his dad because, y' know, it's the right thing to do- whatever the history, i just think a cat-and-mouse game w/ some tension or mind playing thing would be interesting with these two. like, outside of the police force, darcel could probably be the only person who has an inkling of a suspicion that julius might actually be a cop because of his background, despite him "officially" being a writer, and likewise, if he were to see darcel around, he'd be wary in that he knows she's not exactly gonna win citizen of the year award anytime soon- i'd elaborate some more, but that's what i have to offer atm. hopefully, i made sense. orz; /sob |

oh gosh I'm sorry for the lateness of this reply. I had so many things to do and was limited to cbox speaking. Gaah! But now I'm free for a few days before things go down. KAY.
darci & yun = truthfully Darci was one of those people who stole things and sold them to the blackmarket and gangs. she had no REAL ties to them, didn't do direct work for them. it was like "hey I have a watch, what do you want for it?" she really would have seen Yun a few times around the turf. in Nova, she'd be like "oh I know that person etc etc" but maybe a job came up that the dealers thought Yun needed somebody for? or to be REAL mean, a job that was thought impossible and unknown to Yun, somebody that if Yun was caught, she could point a finger at Darci and be off the hook. because that's how cruel the people giving the job are. high class work, good reward, but not nice people. but instead the two bond instead and Yunny takes Darci under her wing?
darci&orne = lol try to tame her... that's adorable. BUT DRAGON EGG?! Darci would be sceptical of the reality of such a thing. deep inside she wants to believe in magic and wonders and lovelies like that which is why she's a secret romantic so she'd be all "wow that's not real. you got ripped off/you found a pretty stone." but something changes that and she gets to the point of desperation. it's real, worth a fortune, etc. depending on their friendship by then, she'd probably do two things; want to nurse this dragon with her buddy or run away to PREVENT herself from selling the egg. epic denial that she's a good person and has found a friend.
darci&jules = oh goodness i love this plot. originally the idea of Darci being caught was her doing a solo and getting caught with her hand in some rich lady's purse. this is much better. This happens when they're younger, so Darci is going to act a bit differently than the Darci she is now. Her twin is almost always with her, her father is alive, and she is stealin' like crazy. She doesn't trust the system because well, what have they done to help her family? So 'specially with Jules' cop daddy, she's going to be suspicious. Now, Darci didn't have friends growing up. She only had her brother. She loves her brother but kinda wants the two of them to move apart. Not like normal twins who are like "we must do everything together I love you we're inseparable" kinda thing. She's tired of him. He constantly worries about her sorta thing. So when Jules decides to befriend her, it's all yes I have a friend I have a friend.
Can I just say right now that she's probably going to have a crush on him? He's hot, even when younger he's probably gonna be cute. So cute infatuation on Darci's end.
She probably won't try anything right away. Like I said, she's going to be happy that she has a friend. Testing the waters. She goes over to his house, marvels at what he has (secretly making herself sad that she doesn't have anything like this) and nothing happens. He doesn't suspect a thing and neither does his dad. Months pass, maybe a year and finally fifteen year old Darci. Upset about dad's death, reckless... She won't confine in Jules but he notices that she's acting different. Maybe he follows her one day and sees her steal something. Tells his dad. Thinks it'll help her. Nope. Gets her locked away. I can see this as the PERFECT opportunity for her not "trusting others" any more. It essentially destroys Darci's innocence in looking at other people. Would they be able to rekindle their lost friendship? WHO KNOWS!

WHOOO OKAY SO here I go.
Rocky and Darcel: Okay so, Rocky's from Atlanta, Georgia, so at least they have some common ground there. They're both from USA! Another common ground they have is that they're dirt poor. Only difference is that Rocky has an apartment in southern nova and Darcel is homeless. If they met up, they could definitely relate in a lot of ways, ya know? Rocky also has a soft spot for taking care of women and making sure they feel like queens. So if he saw her having a rough time, he'd want to help. There's obviously lots of chance of taking advantage of, but come on. Lets be real. After she got to know Rocky, I don't think she'd be able to take advantage of him and not feel bad. He's just so sweet.

It's SHINJI. -brief Persona fanscream- OK. I'm done. Just haven't seen many people use him as a FC before. Good job! Anywho, yes! They definitely have some common ground. And before I say anything else, I'm imaging his Southern accent as Bill's from True Blood. It's done. It cannot be altered. Just like somebody on here put it in my mind that Darci would sound like Harley Quinn. Heh... Ooooh... Somebody treating Darci like a queen. Not sure how she'd respond to that. My first impression and wild imagination is him trying to buy her clothes when he finds out that she has barely none. Goes up to her with some frilly crud and she just STARES at him like "wtf is this? I ain't wearing that. No frigging way." Secretly she wants to romp around like some princess out of a fairy tale but she lacks that certain... charm? Like Rocky, she can be vulgar. She's sassy. A tomboy. Picturing herself as the stereotypical lady shatters before her eyes. If Rocky tried to treat her like a delicate little house flower she'd throw down and demand he "bring it" before tackling the poor guy around the waist. Their personalities are quite similar too, so they'd get along great. I can see them having a blast - and Darci caring about him so much that'd she knock that alcohol away from him so he'd keep his sweet side. |

HMMMMM I dunno if Rocky would buy her frilly stuff? He'd want to buy her things that she likes, but he'd definitely want to give her anything her little heart desired. Only problem is that he's not rich, but that wouldn't stop him, really. He'd have to force himself to pay his bills first and save the rest for her--PFF That's so sad, but true.
I bet a lot of laughs would come out of them too, teasing each other for their accents, but neither one of them could really have room to say anything CONSIDERING HOW THICK BOTH THEIR ACCENTS ARE.
I want this to happen. I want these two to be a THING and I hope you don't mind but I'm already shipping them. omg. I love it.

PFFFT I said it was my wild imagination, dear. But wouldn't that be funny? I mean half of the stuff she is forced to wear for jobs is frilly or a dress or something she doesn't like. It'd be like "oh you like that stuff" and KA-BOW PRESENT. LOL. we'll have plenty of laughs. Darci trying to figure out his accent and he'll be trying to figure out her's... She'll say something about it. Probably to throw him off guard or whatever Darci does. OMG MY FIRST SHIP SAILED RIGHT OUT OF PORT AMBI. We'll see how it goes. Darci would totally think he's hot. His accent? Hot. But she'd still try and throw him over her shoulder if he thinks he can treat her like a prissy little girl. Try. I bet Rocky is much taller than her brother ever was. Oh man, if he ever hit Darci, he'd brood over it. There's no way he'd ever be okay with hitting her. lfsfosflsfs He might jokingly pop her shoulder lightly, though. I think he'd end up trying to tickle her into submission, however. And that thought makes me giggle.

lol... Darci is 5'4. Her brother was 5'8. They were twins, but either he didn't want to hurt her or she was just brutal toward him. His RPer always let Darci beat him up. Itwasfrigginghilarious. OMG NO. DON'T TICKLE DARCI. SHE KICKS. AND SHE'LL KICK HIM IN THE NO ZONE. She won't warn him again to 'stop'. But a pop on the shoulder? Now you're talking. She'd smack him back, no problem. |
