She hoped she wasn't sounding like a deadbeat - bussing tables, no place of her own. Claudia hadn't been doing it long enough to get her down, though. But he had started asking about her, which she took to mean he was interested in knowing - or maybe he was just being polite. Regardless, she didn't see any reason to lie. Things weren't going to be like this forever, after all.
"Maybe will be... neighbours?" She joked.

If her bussing tables was considered being a deadbeat, then Caeden was going to have to say he was pretty close to being a deadbeat as well. Bartending wasn't exactly his dream job, and when people got a bit too drunk, he might as well have been bussing tables. At least he wouldn't have had to talk to people if he did.
"I doubt it." Shrugging, he didn't even realize there was a joke made. "Biddle wouldn't mind it, though." No, the cat quite liked Claudia.
@claudia that is aokay because it took me forever to reply anyway

Whether they ended up as neighbours or not, Claudia hoped they would run into each other again. Caeden seemed nice, and his cat was too cute, still sleeping fast in her arms, even as they reached her building.
Claudia nodded up towards the building as she stopped in front of it. "Thank you." She said earnestly, stroking the cat a few more times before holding it out for him to take back.
She chewed on her lip in thought a moment. "Maybe will... see each other again?"

Caeden had to say, he was surprised when he realized he managed to have a full conversation with someone who didn't upset him in some way. A whole conversation where not one thing the other party said sparked his temper - and it was actually a refreshing change of pace.
Biddle mewed when being handed over, and Caeden was about to take the cat, but it decided to hop away from his arms. Typical. "It was the least I could do." Technically, the least he could have done was leave her on her own, so maybe it was the most he could have done?
"Maybe." I doubt it.
