Vernell's a man with the heart and mindset of a boy in his mid-teens - even though he teaches at a school, he treats his work as a past time to his own secret, ulterior motives. He thinks that he's hot shit, and that every lady in the world will swoon and chase after him endlessly, only to have him lead them on a string for a couple of days and move on to the next one because he bores very, very easily. He has a hard time handling long-term relationships, and has probably never honestly returned any feelings of affection. When things aren't on the topic of romance, Vernell can be overall agreeable and friendly, if a bit immature at times. He recently transferred back to Nova Athenis under the name Vern Tolbert, after an incident with one of his underage students forced him to 'disappear' for awhile and plan a new identity for himself. As a result, he's holds extreme distaste for student-senpai crushes, sometimes even warping the situation into something its not because of his bloated ego. Vernell holds a certain passion for literature and plays, so he works to the best of his ability when he's not pursuing his own goals. | [attr="class","eleboo"] kirk peeters THIRTY. COMEDIAN. Kirk made some bad choices in life because he was essentially forced into something he hated with a passion, and that's how he landed in the situation that he's currently in at the moment. Unprofessional and vulgar, he's your every day hooligan, with the exception of the fact that he tells jokes for a living instead of roaming the streets selling drugs. Kirk likes his job because he feels like it's something that he can actually manage efficiently and harbor a certain amount of interest in, but he doesn't really like the people that attend his shows. He doesn't really like people that much in general, actually, since everybody he's known his entire life was either stuck up, or shady and untrustworthy. He works at the siren's song for the most part of the day, and spends the rest of his time either drinking - it's a nasty habit he has no intention of fixing - or getting into trouble in the red light district. heeeeey lets plot woo ASTER and @vern um well aster's a single lady so i guess there's room for plotting here! maybe she's one of the girls who isn't head over heels over him? would he try and make her swoon, then? like just to prove he can, try to impress her bc there is no way that she couldn't be into him DHIAN and @vern teachers teachers! they probably know each other since they're teachers woo, and dhian is like the opposite of vern! he's happily married and kind of self conscious, so yeah. i don't think that they would class all that much, though, maybe playful jabs but otherwise they wouldn't really have any reason to hate each other. that's all i can come up with lemme know if you have any ideas for any of my other characters? |

hello hello MESSENGER yes, lets plot pls! & ASTERoh yes, definitely! Vern doesn't really pine for ladies as they do for him, but if Aster were to not fall for him right away his pride would take a huge toll from it, and he'd view winning her over as almost a challenge of sorts. he'll try to make her see that she was mistaken to not fall for his 'obvious charm', but no promises to how long dating and stuff might last after/if it becomes 'official'. also his approach to wooing is something between flaunting his strong points and flowers/dinners/gifts and all that mushy stuff idk how Aster would respond to that?? & DHIANhaha yeah I would imagine that Vern wouldn't understand Dhian that well, but they'd be on good terms with each other and all. he'd probably actually be a little bit curious about how Dhian does it when there are 'all those single ladies out there waiting' and maybe tease him a bit about it yeah, I think teacher buddies sounds about right. I might hop into your open thread just to see how they would get along together if you don't mind/unless you want to hammer out some more concrete details first? |

she'd be annoyed, but she also likes having her ego stroked. i mean if he bought her nice gifts she'd accept them and maybe lead him on a bit. oh but maybe - basically she has a childhood friend who is uh courting her and she's totally not having it. so maybe she'd agree to go out with vern to get them both off her back in a two birds one stone kinda way lol? but yeah we can see where it goes from there maybe?

and that sounds about right - dhian wouldn't understand why vern wouldn't want to settle down he thinks being married is great! but yeah, feel free, i don't think we need to plan much more out~

& ERIK- so erik should be vern's wingman. that is all. that is the WHOLE PLOT. no i'm jk they'd prob be really cool with each other and be friends and IF YOU'RE COOL WITH WINGMAN ERIK I MEAN I AM OKAY WITH THAT. & HUNTER- she doesn't like getting hit on really i mean it's ok if you're 14 and it's cute pick up lines but she'd probably get mad at vern otherwise. idk i'm going off of how she reacted to raul but IT MIGHT BE DIFFERENT WITH HIM i mean she's a pocket full of sunshine who probably had him in bio a year or two or something back so who knows. that's all i got for now. |

lol yeah sure I like the sound of that! idk how long of a relationship vern would be willing to have with aster but if it takes a lot of effort to win her over then he should stick around for awhile. i'm good with seeing how it goes from there haha. do you want me to start a thread (unless you want to)?

HAHA well vern used to teach english so she might recognize him from there. and well he won't hit on her unless she makes it really clear that she doesn't have a crush on him but it'll be subtle, since she's barely legal. does she have an interest in drama? b/c those students are the one with the most interactions with him.

&erik- that would be great ok- meeting in a shady bar prooobably drunk on erik's end but yeah! we should def thread them out and see how it goes from there.
&hunter- i could see her having an interest in it, and probably would lurk around a bit between her own classes? idk she could even take drama to kick away more free time that she doesn't need.

william basically is quite a name in the southern area, and wonders around the red light district to laugh at drunk people and prostitutes maybe they know each other and they just annoy each other like william will probably aim pennies at his head or something idk

@kirk + ornella ornella is totally the opposite of kirk. she's an intense optimist, true friendship, and though her doubts sometimes nag at her heart, around other's she tries very hard to be strong for them. she might take it upon herself to prove to kirk that people can be selfless. @kirk + damien he's frequently at the siren's song, gambling in the corner. omg you should join this open thread i have with kitty and laika's characters. we've been looking for a fourth character for a while! its a poker game thread~ here's the link |

kirk's probably never met anybody like ornella before, so I imagine this to go negatively at first, but he might warm up to her after awhile if she's really determined! how do you think they would possibly meet up? kirk doesn't actually live in the red light district just some run down apartment, I imagine that to be the most probable place they could run into each other.
