with hannah, dog walking is something she does quite often. with the three billion dogs in her and dhian's house, it's rare she ever goes a day without walking at least two dogs.
she doesn't mind walking the dogs though, she quite likes it.
it allows them to get fresh air and it allows her to soak in the sights that she may have missed the previous day. hardly anything changes, but sometimes things do, and sometimes she likes to see the changes, just for fun.
ooc: @gracie & how the frickle do u even start idk anymore.

Gracie is wandering the streets, a bag slung over her shoulder. It's crammed with pamphlets, the same ones that she's trying to push into the hands of passing people.
"Excusemesirwouldyouliketohearabout--" People shake their heads, people walk a little faster, people try to avoid her, but Gracie isn't discouraged. She can't blame them - quite frankly all of it is very sad to hear about. Sometimes she thinks it must be nice not to know, but at the same time she think's it's really important. She has to do her best to get the facts out, even if people don't want to hear them.
She's been doing this almost an hour when a woman walks buy with a pair of dogs. Gracie's face lights up with a smile cranked up even brighter than her usual one. She waves at the woman.
"So cute!" She motions towards the dogs. "Can I pet them?"

hannah smiles at the pink haired girl, "yeah sure go right ahead!"
she adores it when people ask her to pet the dogs. it makes her feel warm and bubbly just seeing another person get along with the animals she's raised with her own blood and sweat.
her animals are her children, not of blood, but of love.
hannah notices the pamphlets stuffed into the girl's bag and raises an eyebrow.
"what are the pamphlets for?" she asks.

She crouches down by the dogs, the pamphlets moved to one hand so the other is free to pet them. They look happy and healthy, giving kisses and wagging their tails.
She looks up at the woman, blinking. The pamphlets, right! She stands abruptly, holding one out. "Carcinogens in drinking water!" She says, loudly and excitedly. She's not excited about the chemicals that everyone is unknowingly ingesting as much as someone who seems to want to hear about them.
She made the pamphlets herself - she used recycled paper, at least.

hannah isn't exactly sure what, um, carcinogens are... but they sort of sound familiar? she feels like she knows them from somewhere, and she feels like they're sort of important. she's not 100% sure though.
they sound dangerous though, like something that would kill people and animals alike. it piques her interest, so she asks about them.
"what are, um, carcinogens?" she asks. "are they dangerous or something?"

Gracie's eyes go wide, in a smile-with-your-eyes, i'm-glad-you-asked kind of way.
"Chemicals," She says, nodding solemnly. "Chemicals that have been linked to cancer, and they're in the water and in the air and in the earth and in all our bodies." She's started talking fast, as she has a tendency to when she starts on this.

Hannah was right.
They are dangerous and she's concerned, somewhat.
"So, if you have too many carcinogens in your body you can contract cancer right?" She says. "Do carcinogens affect animals as well, or is it just humans?"
To be honest, Hannah is only really worried about her animals. While she's concerned about her life and her husband's, it's easier for them to communicate and help each other understand when they're sick. While she's rather good at communicating with animals, it's still harder because they don't speak the same language.

Gracie nods - of course, it's more complicated than that and she has plenty more to say, but, "Pretty much."
When the woman brings up animals, Gracie casts a look of concern at the dogs. "Animals too. Lab animals and animals in the polluted rivers and deforested forests and," she takes a breath, "and pets." She adds, sounding forlorn, sorry that she has to be the bearer of such bad news.

Hannah's eyes go wide when the girl says it also affects animals. She gets scared and mentally panics for a second.
"Well, what can I do to stop the spread of carcinogens?" She asks. "Or, help prevent the spread of them?"

She smiles brightly - she's happy about the woman who is interested, not about what she's telling her - so she tries to put on a serious expression, though her eyes glow with excitement about someone who's willing to hear her out.
"You can't really avoid them." Gracie says, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Spread awareness! You gotta educate people and make it a big deal, you know!" She reaches into her bag, pulls out a handful of flyers and holds them out with a smile.
