| The metal door of her locker wasn't exactly comfortable, but it sufficient enough to serve as a place for Nessa to lounge during the countdown from class to class. Passing periods were always dull, and just short enough to give one time to make a pit stop and rush to their next period. Not that she particularly cared about beating the bell.
In fact, the blonde was contemplating skipping her next class. She didn't really feel like defining the differences between mitosis and whatever other terms they were learning that week. Do something fun.
Oh, and how convenient, she just happened to spot her favorite cousin Jamie. Navigating the mass of teenagers, she set herself right next to him and his locker, bright grin plastered across her face. "Jamie, you're not doing anything important next period, right?" She only paused for a second. "Great, because I want you to skip with me."

It was the rush between classes – Jamie held his books to his chest and looked down, putting one foot in front of another, keeping his head down and hoping nobody noticed him, but he wasn't that lucky. He was never that lucky. It wasn't one of the schoolyard bullies that stopped him dead in his tracks and made him clutch tighter at his books. It was worse than that – Nessa antagonized him from home to school and anywhere she found him in between. The worst part was that he couldn't do a thing about it, but put up with it. Jamie was always benign, always patient, but he could retaliate against a schoolyard bully if it came down to it. Never against family. Nor could he refuse Nessa. "Uhm," He stayed staring down at his feet – he hadn't looked up, not once, because he could practically see her face, warped into a picture of dominance and command, while his own eyes were wide and terrified, fixed on the ground. "…Class…" He murmured. Jamie wasn't a very good student – he fell asleep in class, he couldn't concentrated most of the time – but he'd rather be slumped on his desk than cutting class with Nessa. | ”Oh, come on, Jamie!” Nessa could whine all she wanted, but the only things that would convince Jamie to come were threats and force. Most often she used both, but this was school. If she got caught outright bullying Jamie, Daddy would hear about it, and she simply couldn't let that happen. For now she had to play the nice cousin.
”It’ll be fun, I promise. Besides, it’s just class. We have it almost every day.” If he thought avoiding her eyes was going to change anything, he was seriously mistaken. She placed her hand on his bicep, grip tight, nails digging in. Her body leaned forward, enough to hide the grip from a certain angle. There were plenty of ways to threaten someone subtly, and she would utilize every method she had at her disposal, only if to crush Jamie’s spirit. As much as needed right now, anyways.
Nessa glanced to a clock on the wall; not very much time until the next bell rang. Then hall monitors would be out, and they’d both be sent right back to class. She wouldn't forgive him if that happened. Yes, she’d find some way to punish him at home - after Daddy went to sleep.

It wasn't so much cutting class in itself that bothered Jamie as much as cutting class with Nessa frightened him. Nessa frightened him. She stepped closer, a hand closed around his forearm, and he squeaked. He was taller than her, but he'd never dare fight back. She was older, she was family, she was more important. She'd also cry to Primo of he ever did, though he wouldn't lay a hand on her either way. Nessa knew it too. Nessa knew he couldn't say no.
"Where are we going?" He murmured. He tried to wriggle out of her grip, a weak and uncomfortable attempt.

| "Out." She said simply, as if it could pass as an explanation. Once again, she looked at the clock on the wall; they didn't have much time left before the bell rang. "C'mon." Releasing his hand and nudging his arm instead, she led the way to an adjacent hallway, from there leading out to a courtyard. Some students milled around outside, but once she opened the door, the bell rang and they cleared out.
"Is there anyplace you particularly like, Jamie?" Nessa asked, once they were the only ones in the courtyard. She wasn't sure where she wanted to go, exactly, but she'd be happy to potentially ruin one or more of Jamie's favorite places. Wait, did Jamie even have a favorite place in Nova? If he did, she'd probably find out soon enough.
