Picture Perfect, C

Rocky let out a whine and kicked his foot against the concrete, "Awww, come on. I don't sound crazy. It's like what you said. Passionate!."

The Southerner grinned at the latter bit of what she said and nodded, crossing his arms as a matter of factly. His grin was proud and he stood up a little taller, too. "Passionate is definitely a better term.'

He thought for a moment, looking up at the sky and watching the clouds as he pondered how he could make it up to Star, the trouble of dirtying up her lens of course. He had no idea how to make it up to her. Though, now that he was thinking about it, he really was glad that he hadn't broken the lens and merely dirtied it. He figured those things were really expensive.

"Well," he started, slipping his thumbs through his belt loops, "what would be a good way to make it up to ya?"

"What!?" he exclaimed, leaning forward towards her to get a better look at her, as if that would help him understand her thought process.

It didn't.

"Whaddya mean you wouldn't tell me? Oh, so you're gonna be like that, huh?" the Southerner asked with a smirk, taking one step forward, still leaning over a bit to keep his face at the same height level as hers. "Are you teasin' me, Miss Star? Pickin' on me to see what type of reaction I'll throw out next? 'Cause if you are, it's definitely workin' and I'm feelin' pretty playful."

Rocky narrowed his eyes a bit, training them on Star's face, trying to figure out what was going on in her mind.

"Do you even have a car?" Rocky asked after a few moments of looking Star over, a childish smile still on his face.

"I dig it. But you ain't gettin' far just walking around. How about I make it up to ya by taking' you out for that drive I mentioned before? I'll find ya a really scenic spot for you to take lots of pictures," he rose his hand afterwards, making a face. "Now, I know what you're thinkin'. It won't be no walk in the park. I'll drive fast, listen to loud music, and pack up a bunch of beers. How's that sound?"

To be honest, what he was proposing sounding more like a date, but he wasn't going to just go and point it out like that. Naw, this was making it up! Totally, that's what it was. Though, he knew he'd feel like an idiot if she flat out rejected him.

He sucked his teeth and shook his head, looking down at the ground all with a smile.

"Aw, man, that's a real shame, ya know? Cuz, I really wanted to treat ya out like that," he started, pushing the toe of his boot against the concrete sheepishly. He looked up at her, that sweet smile still on his face, "I guess you'll have to let me know when you're free, won't ya?"

He was totally flirting with her by this point and he didn't care how obvious he was being about it, either. It was fun and she was a sport going along with it.

Her laughter and her smiles were really egging Rocky on in the best way possible.

He reached back and scratched his neck, giving it a bit of a rub afterwards as he pulled out a cigarette with his other, shaking out one, then lights it with a puff.

Mm, what if--" he inturrupted himself with a puff of smoke, blowing it out and away from Star's general direction, "--I posed for you? You could take my picture. I bet you'd like that, huh?"

He wasn't trying to be rude and he'd feel incredibly sorry immediately if he found out that Star was offended. He was just trying to tease her a bit, though he really was serious about having his picture taken.

"A grungy country boy up against some pretty scenery. What a contrast, right?"

His eyebrows rose a bit at that and he tilted his head to the side, keeping his eyes on her all the while.

Another drag on his cigarette, another exhale, and another grin to go along with it all.

"Oooh, Miss Star is a strict woman, is she? Gonna boss me around and make me lift my chin just so?" Rocky teased, lifting his head up for emphasis. "I was born in the south of the USA, darlin'. It's all about takin' orders there and doin' it with a smile."

He wished he was kidding.

"I dare say I'm perfect for the job then, don't you?"

Actually, the more he teased and talked on about the whole thing, the more eager and excited he felt about it. It'd been a while since he'd had fun like that before. The kind of fun where you smile for real and laugh so hard your sides hurt. The real kind of fun that wasn't just alcohol numbing everything into a tolerable state.

"I'm offended. You honestly think that I would fake smiles for tips?" The Southerner asked, frowning just a bit, but it didn't last long and his smirk returned shortly after. "Naw, they really were honest. I don't fake smiles to my mama."

And that was the truth.

He took one last drag off his cigarette, then put it out in the little ashtray nearby. He shoved his hands into his pockets and rocked back and forth on his feet, heel-to-toe.

"You're not gonna make me pose nude are ya?" He asked, suddenly moving his hands to his chest as if shielding breasts he didn't actually have. "I'm so nervous and shy about my body."

The smile on his face said otherwise, however.
