Dates were generally boring. Movies, dinner...it was all so mundane. Katherine needed more fun out of life and she needed to get Marlene out of the apartment and into the world. So what better way to get a little adrenaline rush with her partner than to go exploring? And thankfully she knew just the place.
Nova Athenis had a section of island covered in ancient ruins from civilizations passed and gone. While no one really knew who they belonged to (or maybe they did, but Katherine didn't) everyone loved exploring them, and that's what they'd be doing that afternoon. Katherine had Marlene dressed in work out gear, and the two parked near the entry. After getting off her bike Katherine hooked the helmet onto the bike's handle and grinned over to the other female.
"Ya ready to have some fun?!"

@calypso Marlene liked normal dates. As mundane as they were, she saw them as a way to get to know people in a way that was far more intimate than risking life and limb around some crumbling, old ruins… Not that Marlene didn’t like old things, of course. Most of the things she found enjoyment in are from way before her time, if it weren’t obvious when looking at her usual attire. She just felt like something crazy was going to happen as soon as Katherine told her to forgo the usual skirt or dress. Quick to hopping off the bike as soon as they pulled to a stop, Marlene yanked the spare helmet from her hand. She’s grown used to being toted around on that thing, but the recently passed unfortunate event (that she had not yet bothered to share) easily left her stomach a bit unsettled. However, this does not keep her from cracking a smile at her lady companion. It was nice to get away from Eagle Eyes for a while. "Please-- Do not break me," she half-jokes. LAIKA OF GS! |

Katherine sighed, moving to place a light kiss atop Marlene's forehead. "Would I ever try to intentionally hurt you love?" And although she seemed sincere, there was a light in her eyes that screamed mischievous. Once she knew Mar was ready, the taller woman grabbed her by the hand and gently began to tug her along to the entrance of the ruins.
It was dark inside, and the recent bout of rain cause pools of water to form on the old blocked stairs. "Be careful! Don't slip or you might bump your pretty head." Katherine smiled back toward MArlene before letting go of her hand to move up the stairs first. Even though she seemed happy about the expedition, she wanted to go first to make sure there wasn't anything ahead on the path that would scare or potentially hurt Marlene. Not that she'd ever admit to it.
Once at the top of the staircase Katherine called down to her partner. "Okay! It's all clear!"
