She watches him hold out the machine to sign, her gaze flickering up to meet his before she takes it from him.
Then she looks back down, signs, quickly and neatly, and hands it back. She considers her options. Isobel wonders, if she closes the door, would he have to leave it, then? Could she go pick it up herself? But it would be a bother, a waste of time. She's just being spiteful now.
"Alright. I'll smile." She sighs and crosses her arms across her chest. "But no photograph."

david grin grows and he's actually really happy! he contains himself well enough though, he doesn't really want isobel to see how happy he is for agreeing. it's sort of a pride thing, however, his grin and his eyes say everything he doesn't show.
"i agree to your terms, miss. hurst." he says.
he tucks the signing machine under his arm on top of her package and puts the disposable camera back into his back pocket. sure he may not have a photo of it, but he'll still have the memory of a pretty girl with a pretty smile.

He seems thrilled by this compromise, and she just stands straight-faced, watching him put away the camera. She thinks this entire thing is ridiculous, she doesn't want to smile at all, but she's already wasted enough time standing in her doorway with the mailman.
Isobel rolls her eyes slightly - she doesn't look at him, instead the wallpaper behind his head when she flashes him a smile. Just for a moment, tersely and closed-lipped. Then she does look at him, expectantly.

David is too giddy to notice how much Isobel doesn't want to do this. Though, he was already aware of it, it's sort of slipped out of his mind at this point. Her smile isn't something that blows his mind, or is something that'd change his life, but it does remind him that yes, Miss. Isobel does have a very pretty smile. It's something he's been wondering about for a while (though he was being honest when he said girls who smile are prettier) and now it's something that he's confirmed. He feels like he's accomplished something, even if that something is very stupid.
"And for a smile, your package, Miss. Hurst." David holds out the package to her, and when she takes it, he leaves. His disposable camera tucked away in his back pocket, and the signature machine in his hands. David thinks today was a good day to waste a lot of time, personally, I agree with him.
