This particular rollercoaster was a two-person per car one, and it wasn't like she brought a date. There was a line for single riders so they could be paired up and get on faster, so Amelie got in that line.
It was the largest coaster in the park - almost as big as some of the ones in America. It had a bunch of drops and tunnels and smoke machines, so Amelie was itching to try it. Always the chicken, she stuck to the baby coasters. Maybe she should've stuck there, because the blue steel was starting to freak her out.
The attendant put her in a car with a blond girl who looked a few years younger than her. "So, is it your first time on this coaster?" the pinkette said, trying to make some small talk while the coaster climbed the first hill.

The car was all kinds of uncomfortable, and Nessa shifted in on the hard seat while she rested her elbows on the metal bar against her stomach. She blew a strand of hair away from her face while a woman joined her car, and she held back a grimace. She was at least hoping to get a car by herself.
She nodded in response, turning her eyes upward. "I'm not scared, though." She paused, looked back to the woman. "What about you? Are you scared?" It was almost challenging, the way that she said it.

She shrunk in her seat after being asked if being scared. Scared? Amelie wasn't scared. At least, she thought she wasn't. Rollercoasters weren't that scary, except for 90 degree drops. Those freaked the pinkette out.
"Scared, no, not me," she said, shaking her head a lot. The blond girl was intimidating, despite her younger age. This was going to be a long ride.

"Oh, I'm sure." She said in a tone that was too readily agreeable. She grinned as the cart inched further and further upwards, her stomach already starting to mimic what it would be like when they hit the drop.
She cast a brief, sidelong glance at the pinkette beside her before rocking the cart left and right, just to see how loose it was. And maybe to frighten the woman with her.

The girl was intimidating Amelie. Her reply seemed slightly sarcastic, and they way she looked over at the drop was unnerving her. Stomach flipping, she gulped.
"U-um, have you ever been on a rollercoaster this size or bigger?" the pinkette asked cautiously. Of course, she hadn't, but Amelie had to not look like a wimp to get this girl off her case. Of course, this was her biggest yet, but she wasn't going to tell the blond that.

Nessa shrugged. "I dunno. Maybe. Maybe not. My dad has taken me to lots of places like this." Though the rooftops of buildings in the slums weren't anywhere near as high or friendly as the coaster was, but the blonde wasn't about to say that to the older woman.
"What about you, hm? Scared?" She grinned, looked behind them at the ever growing gap between them and the ground. It was getting awfully high.

"Stop implying I'm scared!" Amelie wailed as they got to the top of the hill and plummeted down towards the ground. It was true - the woman was really scared, and had no clue why she went on the coaster. Her words came out rather shakily, but were probably easy to make out.
The coaster whipped around a turn as they reached the bottom, and started up on another hill. Her stomach did a couple flip-flops. "I-if I admit I'm scared, will you lay off about it?" she said, intimidated.
