The sunlight was filtering through the blinds, luminescent stripes crossing the sheets of Kieran's bed. He was warm and comfortable and his head was swimming as he woke from sleeping. There was no headache but for some reason he couldn't remember anything about last night. Well, he'd pick no memories over a hellish hangover any day.
When he rolled over, though, some memories from last night came flooding back. He was face to face with another freckled, fair-skinned ginger, though she was definitely female, if the sheets half-covering her undressed body was enough indication. He wondered absentmindedly if his choice in bed-mates last night was a stroke of narcissism when another more frightening thought entered his mind. She looked a lot younger than the girls he usually spent the night with.
Rubbing his forehead, he just certainly hoped that this girl was legal.

The morning light filtered in through the blinds and right over Maribelle’s face, eventually causing her to wake up with a slight groan. She felt way too tired from whatever she had been doing last night to even bother opening her eyes, instead just letting out a big yawn and stretching. A small draft caused her to shiver, and that was when she realized she was completely nude, which was not how she normally slept. The only thing that was on her was just a bedsheet, which had already slipped off half way.
Maribelle brought her hands up to rub her eyes as she yawned again before blinking them open. She was still squinting a little against the light to see who it was that was no doubt in her bed, if he hadn’t already left. Blue eyes fell on the freckled face of another ginger, though this one was male and seemed to be lacking an eye.
“Oh, mornin’,” she mumbled, raising her arms over her head to stretch. The night before was pretty much one big blur to her right now, but it was pretty obvious what had happened. | prima donna girl ♡ all i ever wanted was the world @kieran |

The girl next to him seemed pretty nonchalant, which was a somewhat good sign. Sometimes the girls he brought home that ended up staying overnight freaked out the next morning once they were sober. At least this one wasn't screeching about cheating on her boyfriend or complaining that she ended up sleeping with an ugly guy last night.
And that really hurt Kieran, honestly. He wasn't that bad looking, right?
"Oh, morning," he sighed, sitting up as well. His top half was bare and the sheets covered his legs and waist, which was probably a good thing or he'd be sitting out in the nude. Not that it really mattered; it's not like the two hadn't seen each other naked last night, and this girl wasn't shy about being topless right now. In fact she was stretching, baring everything instead of pulling the sheets over her chest to hide herself.

Maribelle shivered a little bit. Why did the morning air have to be so chilly? Well, it was probably more due to the fact that she wasn’t wearing any clothes at all, but still, she didn’t want to freeze to death. Grumbling a little to herself, she grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around herself tightly before sighing.
“Why is it so cold in this room?” the young woman glanced at the other redhead. “Aren’t you cold too?”
She couldn’t help but glance over him again. Maribelle didn’t think she had slept with someone who looked as similar to her as he did before. He was like some kind of male pirate alter ego in a way, at least in her mind. He had the same orange hair and freckled skin that she did; it was kind of remarkable really. | prima donna girl ♡ all i ever wanted was the world @kieran |

It was a bit cold in here now that she mentioned it, and he frowned when she took his blanket to wrap herself up. Leaning out of bed he grabbed his underwear, pulling them on so he was somewhat clothed before going to look at the thermostat.
He turned up the temperature a little bit before he went to the bathroom and grabbed a robe, pulling it on over his lanky frame and letting it hang loosely before waiting in the doorway. He wanted to go to the kitchen, maybe he could make some food and coffee but he wanted to be polite after all.
"Er, are you gonna stick around?" he asked awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. "I could make some food and coffee or somethin', if you wanted."
Sometimes the girls stayed, sometimes they didn't. It didn't matter to him much. What mattered was whether she was gonna stay to eat, because he was getting pretty hungry.

Thankfully he seemed to be a little cold as well and went to turn up the thermostat. Until it had decided to warm up, however, she stayed wrapped up in the blanket, glancing around the room a bit. She could she her clothes strewn on the floor, tossed carelessly to the side the night before. Now that she wasn’t as sleepy, her memories were coming back to her a little, though they were still pretty fuzzy. That was what she got for drinking so much she supposed, though she was pretty used to it.
When he walked back out of the bathroom, her eyes flicked over to him again. She studied him a little again, her head cocked to the side a little and orange strands falling over her freckled shoulders. He wasn’t too bad looking, and from what she could remember he wasn’t too bad in bed either. She could’ve done much worse.
When he mentioned food and coffee, the ginger girl instantly perked up, grinning. “Ooh, that sounds good actually,” Maribelle chirped. “I’ll probably stay for that.” | prima donna girl ♡ all i ever wanted was the world @kieran |

When she said she'd stay, he nodded and told her that he'd be in the kitchen and to come in whenever she wanted to. Retreating, he went to the kitchen and living area to prepare breakfast for the two of them.
Getting the coffee going, he rummaged through his cupboards and fridge to find something to eat. Hoping she liked eggs and bacon he grabbed a skillet from one of the cupboards above the range and started to cook, making a mess of sunny side up eggs and crispy, greasy bacon. Deciding that maybe they needed something more he threw a few slices of toast in the toaster just as the coffee finished brewing.
He poured himself a cup and sipped at it, letting the bitterness of the beans wake him up, invigorating his senses. Closing his eye he took another sip, waiting for both the toast to finish and for the girl to get out here.
Shit. Now he realized that he couldn't even remember her name. This was going to be one hell of an awkward morning.

Maribelle sat up and stretched again, letting the blanket hang loosely around her while she went to pick up some of her clothes from the floor and pulled them on, letting the blanket fall from her shoulders and into a heap on the bed once she was covered up. Yawning, the redhead stood up and ran her fingers through her long hair before taking her familiar blue ribbon and tied it into a loose ponytail to hold it back. She’d actually bother with brushing it when she got home.
With that done, she made her way over to the kitchen, smiling when she smelled breakfast and coffee waiting for her. She made a beeline for the coffee pot, pouring herself a mug and adding her usual amount of sugar before carefully sipping it. After a few more sips, Maribelle felt much less groggy.
Still, she couldn’t help another small yawn as she plopped herself down at the kitchen table to wait for breakfast to finish cooking. She leaned her chin on the palm of her hand as she glanced back over at the other ginger, studying him a little with half-lidded eyes. It was then that she realized she couldn’t remember that much about him, including his name. Whoops.
Well, she definitely wasn’t gonna be the first to admit that. | prima donna girl ♡ all i ever wanted was the world @kieran |

It wasn't long before the girl came to sit in the kitchen, waiting for breakfast to be served. He finished it up and plated it up, dividing the food up evenly before setting her plate in front of her. Kieran slid into another chair, sipping the coffee as he started to munch on some bacon.
Everything was quiet as they ate, save for the noises of eating. Kieran felt more than awkward. The girls from the night before never usually stayed until the next morning, and he honestly didn't know what to talk about. It's not like he had taken her home last night because he desired a deep and meaningful connection.
"So," he muttered after a few moments. "Did you sleep well?"

Her stomach growled silently as he set out the food in front of her, and she had to restrain herself from wolfing it all down. For someone as petite as she was, she could really put down a lot of food. Instead she ate at what she hoped was a reasonable pace.
A bit of an awkward silence settled between the two redheads, and Maribelle wasn’t really sure what to say to break it. She didn’t even know this guys name, so she had no idea what to even say to start a conversation. Luckily for her, he was the one who finally spoke up and asked her a question. She quickly swalled her mouthful before she answered.
“I slept well enough,” she replied, glancing over at him. “You…?” | prima donna girl ♡ all i ever wanted was the world @kieran |

The two of them ate in silence, the only sounds coming from the clanking of silverware against porcelain plates. He was starving, but he tried not to eat too fast, even though it didn't really matter. This was his house and he could act as he damn well pleased. That didn't change the fact that this was a sufficiently awkward situation.
Kieran nodded when she mentioned how she slept, and shrugged a little in response. Grabbing his coffee cup he took a long drink, savoring the flavor and more so the caffeine as it flowed through his body, feeling his brain wake up more with each sip. "I slept alright."
Feeling a slight itching and discomfort in his hair, he set down his coffee mug and raised his hand to itch his head a bit. His fingers came in contact with thick straps and he realized he hadn't taken off his eyepatch last night. While he usually did that before bed (because wearing that thing got really uncomfortable sometimes) he must've forgotten due to the previous night's...activities.
"Hey," he said, clearing his throat. "I know this might be kinda gross but d'ya care if I take this damned eyepatch off?" he asked. "It's kind of uncomfortable to wear all the time, especially sleep in it."
While he knew it was his house and he could do what ever he wanted, he still wanted to be somewhat polite. Besides, the scar where his eye used to be wasn't the prettiest sight, and he didn't want to put her off really.

The food really wasn’t too bad, though that was probably because Maribelle wasn’t really the best cook and ended up burning a lot of her own food. She couldn’t exactly be too picky and throw it out either, since she’d pretty much be throwing out money. Although she could easily borrow from her parents if she needed to, she wanted to be able to prove to the that she totally could make it on her own -- for the most part.
When he spoke up again, she glanced up at him. He was asking if he could take his eyepatch off, and to be honest, she couldn’t help but be a little curious about it. Then again, it’d probably be rude to bombard him with questions about it.
“Sure, go ahead,” she replied, starting to sip at her coffee. She couldn’t help but peek a little over the rim though.

When she agreed to let him take the eyepatch off, he turned away a little and lifted it from his eye. The elastic straps that wrapped around his head stretched as he pulled the offending item off, getting up to put it in his room. Normally he'd just put it on the table but he didn't want to offend the girl.
Returning, he wasn't sure whether to pull his hair back or let it fall forward or just do nothing with it at all. Deciding on the latter he just sat back down and started to eat again like nothing had happened.
The scar wasn't really that bad but it always seemed to freak people out. It just looked a bit pinched and was faded red like all scars did, but apparently since he was missing an eye it was disgusting or unnatural or something. Kieran didn't really mind it, he wasn't offended - it was just annoying to hear day in and day out.
Sighing eventually, however, he set down his fork and looked up at the girl. "This is a horrible as shit question, but I can't remember your name at all. Who are you?"

The other redhead pulled the eyepatch off and left to go put it away, leaving Maribelle to eat on her own. When he returned and sat back down, she couldn’t help but try to sneak a glance or two at the scar it had previously been hiding. She wasn’t exactly grossed out by it, but extremely curious. Maribelle was really tempted to ask him the story behind it, but since they barely knew each other, she didn’t want to offend him.
Maribelle was distracted from her thoughts, however, when he spoke up and asked for her name. She couldn’t help but smirk a little at that, and quickly swallowed the mouthful she had been chewing before replying.
“Maribelle. And uh… I should probably ask for yours too.”

He looked up when she asked for his name and smirked a little. Apparently he wasn't the only one who had forgotten. Had they even exchanged names? Last night was such a blur, and he didn't remember much, so it was hard to say if they had exchanged pleasantries at all or just gotten to it.
"Maribelle," he murmured. "Fancy name."
Leaning back in his chair he sipped at his coffee and looked at her. Maribelle fit her well enough, he supposed. Names were an odd thing. You always seemed to grow into the name you were given, no matter how plain or interesting it sounded.
"I'm Kieran," he finally said after a while, introducing himself finally. "Kieran Donagh."
