Briella's honest when she thinks that her Dad wouldn't follow up on his word. She's was surprised at the fact he was even home when she was home actually. Her Dad is just full of surprises this week or something she swears. She doesn't know if it's a good or a bad thing though. She figures it's a good thing, better for him to be around than for him to not be around.
She steps into the amusement park grounds - her dad took care of the tickets and stuff - and her eyes glance from one attraction to another. She's got a giant grin plastered to her face as she turns to her Dad. "What should we go on first?!" Needless to say, she's hella excited to be here. He's tired. But he dragged himself out of bed, had a strong cup of coffee and a cigarette, and took Briella wherever she liked. The amusement park was noisy and crowded, but he couldn't say that he didn't want to be there. Briella looked thrilled, and that was all that mattered as he lumbered after her, watching a rollercoaster car plunging down a drop in the distance.
"Hm?" He looked down at Briella with a smile. "Whatever you want. You wanna go on one of the big rides?"

He supposed going to an amusement park was fun. No, actually it was fun. It took his mind off of things and generally got him scared without him fearing for his life, which was nice for a change. Not to mention, sometimes it was just fun to act his actually age instead of pretending to be an eighteen, twenty, or twenty-one year old.
No whores, no brothel, no Santiago, god if he wasn't such a fucking dickwad. Emil had rights, he had fucking rights. He didn't need to be slapped or punched or kicked, or whatever the fuck happened.
Yeah, no Santiago was nice- until he fucking spotted Santiago with... with.. a little girl. He was abducting a kid! That had to be the only answer, he couldn't picture puppy murdering, kitten slaying psychopath Santiago doing anything relatively normal. Emil's mind went to four words, and four words only underground child sex ring. What disturbed him the most is that girl didn't look much younger than he was, maybe ten, eleven years old as compared to his sixteen. Something though, maybe the look in her eyes told him that she was something pure and untainted.
That's when something kicked in, in Emil's mind and he rushed over there. "You fucking prick!" He squints, and grabs the girl protectively by the shoulder, tugging her closer to him and farther away from Dickwad. "Beating up whores is one thing, but what Madame isn't giving you enough money? You have to resort to kidnapping kids?"
"Though I suppose I shouldn't expect anything less than someone who probably murders animals in their time. You're disgusting." Emil was smart enough to make a scene, out in public Santiago couldn't physically harm him or the child. "What, you're on that underground sex trafficking shit? Adults don't cut it anymore?" That's when his voice got a tad bit lower, there were also things he was smart enough not to yell.

Briella nods energetically at the thought of going on a big ride. It occurs to her that she might not be tall enough to ride on some of the big kid rides, but she figures it'll be okay because she's with her Dad.
Though, before she has a moment to look at all the big rides and figure out what she wants to go on, she's grabbed by the shoulder. It surprises her, and her first instinct is to push the person away but then she realises it's a kid like her. Well, maybe he's a few years older but man oh man, he's apparently really angry at her Dad.
He says a lot, but she only really understands some parts of it. She glances from the boy to her Dad and the only things the boy has said that sticks in her mind are the 'beating up whores' part and the 'murders animals' part too. She's not too sure what 'trafficking' is but she doesn't think it's a good thing.
Briella stares at her Dady with her jaw dropped, "You beat up whores and murder animals?!" Last time she checked, doing both those things had nothing to do with guarding people, especially not famous people. At least, she's partly sure the job doesn't include those things. The amusement park has enough noise and energy that'll snap him out of his drowsiness, eventually. Santiago likes doing normal father-daughter things whenever he can, he likes to pretend.
But it's hard to pretend when whats behind what you're trying to plaster over with fantasy bursts through. He doesn't recognize the boy at first, but instinctively steps closer with menace in his intent when he has his hands on Briella.
It's when Emil goes on that Santiago makes the connection, and his fists clench. He knows how to deal with Emil, back at the brothel, back at work. But the way things work there is entirely outside how the rest of the world works. He can't lay a hand on Emil here, not in front of the crowds, and most importantly in front of his daughter.
He doesn't like to mix work with the rest of his life. Santiago has nothing against the little whore, and that's exactly why he can rough him up when need be, but now he feels a swelling hatred.
He sighs, and he has to soften his tone when he replies to Briella. "No, honey. I don't know what he's talking about." He meets Emil's eyes and his expression flickers to something cold and threatening. But when he steps closer, it's to take his daughter's hand, to lead her away from all of this before Emil can say any more. "Let's go."

That definitely wasn't a look Emil was used to seeing. He rolled his eyes at the look, and his expressions, his body movies, everything dared him to try. Maybe it was his teenage rebelliousness, or maybe his need to get this kid out of here. He looked at the kid, and kept his hand, firmly but not squeezing or hurting on her shoulder. "Yeah he does. I'm an eye witness." He pointed to his eye, used his figure to tug on his cheek to reveal the red of his eye. He could be such a kid sometimes.
But in all serious, he didn't let her go, not by a long shot. "You've brainwashed her too?" Emil shook his head. "Pathetic, sometimes I forget just how bad career criminals can be." No, he never forgot, in the slightest. He couldn't forget.
"You're lucky I'm more afraid of the Madame than I am of you, or I'd turn you in right now. Poor kid, from the sound of it, has been on Amber Alert or something for years." He would tell her that she's safe now, but that, he isn't exactly sure of.
What he wouldn't give for a plane ticket home right now, but he was a bit too shamed, and a bit too worthless to face anyone he once knew. For now though, if he could save the life - the innocence of some girl - he'd be content.

All this talk has Briella more confused that she has ever been in her life. Her Dad's a criminal? Well, murdering animals and beating up whores do sound like criminal offenses. She wonders if he's done anything else that's criminal like. Has he killed people? Did he rob a bank? Did he try to kill the President? All things she wants to know, but she still doubts he's even done half of them.
Briella glances up at her Dad when he steps closer, when he moves to remove her from the boy. She stares up at him, a look of betrayal unknowingly painted in her eyes. "Are you really a criminal? I thought you were a good guy! Who like, guards important people and stuff! Is... is that what you do when you go to work? You beat up people and kill animals?! Daddy... that's bad, I don't... I don't think you should go to work anymore! You should call your boss and quit right now!"
It's unrealistic suggestion, but Briella thinks it's a solution. She doesn't know the rest of the story, or the reasons behind everything, but she knows she doesn't want to be the daughter of a criminal. At least, not knowingly. He has to remind himself to be gentle. He wants to grip Briella's hand hard and yank her away, he wants the whore's filthy hands off of his daughter, but he has to be gentle. He isn't sure how to be intimidating in front of Briella - he's never done it before.
Normally he doesn't hate the whores and their clients, he doesn't think anything of them, and maybe that's why he can hurt them so easily. But now he can feel a seething hatred welling up for Emil, a rare and deadly sort of anger that dissipates slightly when he looks back down at his daughter. He tries to ignore Emil.
He tries to paint himself a better man than he is in her eyes, and when he looks down at her he can see the topcoat peeling.
Santiago wretches his expression into a smile, but it's edged with something harder and sharper, because he can see Emil out of the corner of his eye. He wants to say no, of course it isn't true, but for some reason the words stick in his chest. "Come on, Briella, we can talk about this later." He tugs at her hand, firmly but not hard enough to hurt.
