Her eyes had begun to wander - whether she was excited about it all or not, there was certainly a lot to look at. She probably she have kept a better watch on Hunter, because she had darted off to the ticket counter and was back before Isobel could dig her wallet from her purse. She said something about paying her back, though Hunter probably hadn't heard, already heading off and leaving Isobel slightly exasperated, following. She hadn't lost her in the crowd, followed her to the back of a winding line before she traced it to the ride, glancing up at it, to Hunter, raising a brow. "We're... riding that?"CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE @hunter

Whatever comment was made about being paid back, Hunter really did pay no attention to. If Isobel did pay her back at some point, Hunter would probably turn the money down, instead claiming that this entire trip was her treat. Sure, maybe her friend wouldn't like the notion, but if Hunter had been doing what Isobel liked then she would have left her alone to read her book on the bench.
A big grin adorned on her fact, Hunter's chest seemed to puff out slightly as she looked up at the ride. "Yup." While it wasn't her favorite ride, it did come fairly close to winning that spot next to one of the ones that did circles almost constantly. "It's a classic. And a lot calmer tha some of the other rides." nimbus™ @isobel |

Isobel watched the riders, laying aside shoes and bags, buckling themselves into the seats. It was the sort of thing that seemed quintessential to carnivals. Along with ferris wheels and cotton candy and rigged game booths that also surrounded them. Really, most of what Isobel knew of carnivals came from movies, shows, books, though none of that seemed too far off the mark here. Everything in Nova Athenis felt picturesque in that way.
Isobel wasn't one for rides, but neither was she squeamish or easily frightened. She didn't think there was any carnival ride that would be too much for her, and there wasn't really any need for Hunter to be so gentle with her.
She watched the ride lift up, start spinning.
"And you like... the big rides?" she assumed.

"The bigger the better. Or faster. Or more spin-y." She shrugged, really assuming that rides came in their own colors - like candy. The chocolate was the best, but there were days when she preferred different things. Today, she was more in the mood for big rides, something that would make her stomach drop.
Eventually, the duo had reached the front of the line, and Hunter forked over the tickets for the both of them. Setting aside anything that would fall off to the side, she grinned over at Isobel before going to buckle herself in to a seat. "The inside seat is faster, but goes a little lower, and the outside seat is a little slower, but goes higher." He motioned to the pairs of seats circling the inner pole.

Truth be told she couldn't recall the last time she had been on any sort of fairground or amusement park ride. She must have, sometime in her childhood, but it felt a vague and distant memory - Isobel had left her childhood behind her, she supposed.
To change her mind now would be like backing out, though, so she carefully placed her bag on the ground by Hunter's, eyeing it as she followed Hunter. Biting her lip, she considered the seats - was it really much of a difference? And with a small shrug, she took the inner seat, buckling herself in and looking over at Hunter as the ride started up.

Shooting a grin over at Isobel, Hunter quickly buckled herself in before she started bouncing in her seat from the excitement. Otherwise she'd fall out and that wouldn't exactly be good, nor would it be fun. She was also pretty sure that Isobel wouldn't be too happy either, and Hunter wasn't too sure if she wanted that.
Then the ride started, and Hunter's grin must have doubled in size as they eventually got to the height and started spinning. If she could relate herself to anything, it probably would have been a bird despite herself being locked into the chair, but that didn't stop her from lifting her arms up. Cautiously, she looked over at Isobel to see if she was having as much fun as Hunter was.

Hunter's already impossibly bright smile only got brighter as they were lifted into the air and starting to spin. Isobel felt uneasy, not quit because of the height or the motion as much as this was something unusual for her to be doing, holding onto the sticky bar on the front of the seat that kept her in place as she swung. She was watching the world blurring by, looking over to meet Hunter's eyes.
Isobel could feel her hair set in disarray, her face slightly flushed as he gave Hunter a small smile to confirm she was alright.

Eventually, the ride ended, and before long Hunter was out of her seat and all but bouncing around again with energy. She wasn't entirely sure where her energy came from most days, either, considering it was practically never-ending. Then again, it was probably a good thing that she had so much energy, because then she could spend it on doing good things. Wonderfully constructive things.
"You ready for the next one?" She wanted to say that the next ride she had in mind was more tame, but Hunter wasn't sure. It didn't lift into the sky, but it sure did go fast - and there was a lot of spinning involved.
