The stage had been a bitch and a half to set up. He'd had to borrow his bosses truck to get everything over to Main Street, and then he'd had to haul everything out and about. But it was finally done. He wiped a bead of sweat from his brow. Of course she'd picked today to make him do this. It was the first day that actually felt hot on Nova Athenis. This is what he'd signed up for. He had to keep reminding himself that.
Pushing himself out of his daydream and into motion, Julius moved to the sound-system that he'd gotten setup beforehand. All he had to do was click a few buttons and turn a few knobs, and the area came to life with music. A sign was hung overhead that read The Nova School of Performing Arts, and people began crowding around to see what exactly was going on.
Julius hesitated before he pulled himself onto the wooden stage. A chord was struck, giving way to his movement. He rotated in his arabesque, bending his knee into a solid attitude before lunging towards the people. His body continued to sway and re-position as the music went on, and Julius was lost in his own body. Fliers were piled neatly along the front of the stage, safely out of Julius's reach.
He'd choreographed this piece to be performed in such a small space. It wasn't fueled much by his heart, but by his energy. The moves he was doing were simply to show off. Give the people a taste of what they could learn from his own manager, and now teacher. His job was to be an example, break for questions and or general bothering of the people, and then repeat. Today was going to be a long day.

It was a hell of a hot day. Sun beating down, humidity pressing against the crowds and the pumping bass of bright music ringing out.
Shani loved the heat, the warm weather, the weather for a day at the beach. Or weather to just wander the city with a smoothie in hand and her favourite pair of sunglasses.
Like everybody else, her interest was piqued by the music and set up in the middle of the street. A few people, busy people, kept walking and didn't bat an eye, but Shani wove through the crowd until she could get a look. A man was on the stage - dancing. Street performances, public performances, had always been her favourite kind. He was a good dancer, he moved like somebody who'd had formal training, and a lot of it. The performance ended with a smatter of applause from the crowd, and Shani pushed through to the front, picking a flyer from the stage out of curiosity.
Scanning it - a dance school - Shani smiled and glanced back up to the man on the stage.

Sweat started to accumulate along his shoulders and neck, the heat pouring down and beating it out of him. His movements stayed strong and complete, experience broad enough to handle miner perspiration. He turned, spotting an empty face in the crowd as he spun once, twice, four times before launching into a leap that he'd worked hard to perfect. The music rose and fell, and his body copied it. He hit with the beat, moving in a rhythm that came with practice.
And then the music stopped. His finishing pose was delicate, leg extended and body held to the side carefully. Julius waited for a moment after the music had died down before coming slowly out of his ending position. He smiled as the crowd applauded, happy that they were satisfied with his performance. He turned from them for a mere moment, in which he plucked a towel from the back of the stage and wiped himself down.
When he turned back most of the crowd had departed, few staying to look at the flyers. One in particular caught his eye, her look unique and appealing. He approached this one, eyeing the paper in her hand and the smile on her face. He set on the stage beside her, casual as ever. "Interested in some lessons?"

When she looked up from the flyer, the dancer had perched himself on the edge of the stage by her. He had toweled himself off, but Shani could only imagine how hard it must have been to move around like that in this heat.
While her act, underwater, required a level of skill to pull off, one of its perks was working in the cool water meant no sweating, no heat. She put her smoothie down on the edge of the stage along with the flyer, resting her elbows on the edge and cupping her chin in her hands as she looked at the man with a grin. "What classes do you have?" She was already a dancer, but there was always room for improvement, for trying new things.
