It was her lunch break, and Genesis had told the secretary she'd be taking a bit longer of a lunch today. A young journalist had emailed her and said she wanted to ask her a few questions, and while she hadn't said exactly what for, Genesis assumed it was about her psychiatry work. What else would the woman have to ask?
The meeting place was set at a coffee shop on Main Street. It wasn't terribly far from her office so she opted to walk, but halfway there she decided it had been a bad idea when she could feel some blisters forming on her feet. She never walked far in heels, mostly just from her car in the parking ramp to her office, and that was a five minute walk, tops. This turned into a fifteen minute walk, and her feet were screaming for mercy.
It would be rude to take off her shoes though, so she soldiered on, walking quickly so she could sit in a chair and get some of the weight off of her feet so they could rest up. She was definitely taking a taxi back to the office. Hopefully this meeting wouldn't last too long, or else she'd have to cut the journalist short, and she didn't want to necessarily do that (even though she didn't necessarily want to do this interview, either.)
Finally she reached the coffee shop, sitting down in one of the metal chairs outside of the shop, set up cafe-style. There was a big umbrella on the table, blossoming above her, but while it kept the sun from her eyes it didn't keep the wind out of her hair. There was a slight breeze, so she fished an elastic out of her bag and tied her hair back into a low ponytail at the nape of her neck.
When a waiter came over she ordered a coffee, black with one sugar, and waited for both her drink and this Jenny McQuinn, journalist, to show up.
