OH, YOUR LOVE IS A SYMPHONY ALL AROUND ME RUNNING THROUGH ME YOUR LOVE IS A MELODY UNDERNEATH ME RUNNING TO ME YOUR LOVE IS A SONG | As little as Hunter had found that her time to read was going down the drain, she continued investing in books. It was as if she had believed that somewhere, in the long scheme of things, her time to do things was slowly manifesting from time spent doing other things. That eventually she'd have time to do just about anything - and when that time came about, she'd be able to curl up in an armchair and read. Even then, she carried a book around usually.
And that was how she found herself in the bookstore, browsing around, but she was incredibly lost. No, she had no idea about what to look for - it had been so long since she had actually read a book that she was going to be wasting everyone's time in the end.
So she went with the second-best option and went to the front desk. "Excuse me, ma'am? Can you help me? I need help picking a good book." She looked like she read a lot more than Hunter did, at least. @theia |

Theia was reading a book of her own at the counter, so invested in the story as to be driven to playing with the pages. She looked up only when the other woman spoke, and dog-eared the book, setting it aside. It was a bad habit, reading at the counter—she made mental note to quit. Later.
"Have you tried the bestsellers’ section?" She gestured to a bookcase by the window. They called it section and not rack because, well, they didn’t have one. It wasn’t a very wealthy bookstore.
"You might find something you like there—but I can help you if you already have, of course." Often it was a simple routine; Theia usually had a list of three or four questions lined up when dealing with people in the bookstore. It was out of experience and practice. Lots and lots of practice.

Honestly, Hunter could have sworn that she felt actually bad about disturbing Theia's reading - she really didn't want to come between someone and a good book. Especially if that good book was something that was hard to pull away from, but then again Hunter was slowly realizing that it was that way with most. She knew, from personal experience, that once she was into a really good book that there was no way she was getting out alive.
"Unfortunately. I'm afraid I've read most of those." Or attempted to, and wasn't roped in successfully. She'd eventually just given up with it, and in the end moved on to something else. Her only problem was that she didn't quite know where to start, and to be honest she had a feeling that the girl behind the counter would have been able to help her. Even if she didn't know her. Hunter just had faith in it.
Shooting Theia a big smile, Hunter almost bounced on her heels. "Would you? I'm utterly lost." Except, well, she wasn't exactly great with navigating around most areas, and it seemed like bookstores were not exempt from that. Oh well.

”Alright,” Theia said, nodding just slightly, folding her hands on the counter and leaning forward. ”Well, do you have any idea what kind of genre you like? Non-fiction, fantasy, science fiction?” All of which Theia was pretty familiar with herself, and could more than likely guide the girl towards a few good novels in each category. She knew she was good, but she didn’t find any satisfaction in bragging.
”May I ask what your name is?” Often Theia chose to try and familiarize herself with the customers somewhat, and most of the time that meant getting on a first name basis. But she wasn’t complaining, of course. Most of the store’s goers were actually quite pleasant to talk with, and even more so if they were regulars.

| Screwing up her face as if thinking about what genre she liked was putting her in actual pain, Hunter ended up taking a moment before replying. "Fiction, pretty much everything in there. Realistic being a preference?" She frowned for a minute before that eventually disappeared altogether with a new grin.
"Hunter! And your's?" She decided to start walking towards where the fiction area was, hoping that Theia would eventually follow. "I just really need a few suggestions."
