| Someone had the ability - or technology, to give powers to people. Mi's mind raced with possibilities of how. Was it a serum they injected into someone like Captain America?
She lingered on the possibilities of magic. Of course, Mi didn't believe in magic. The idea was so stupid since it couldn't be proved by science, which the little girl lived by. Since Theia seemed a little hesitant, slowly Mi asked "Who gave it to you? And how?" She didn't plan on asking more questions.

"A monster, Midori." She'd rather scare the girl away from the topic than try and evade her way out of the questions. "I guess you could say that I won it. But I wouldn't start looking for it if I were you." She folded her hands over the book once more, gave Midori a tired smile. Exhaustion still lingered on her muscles. "Does that answer your questions?"

| "So it was magic? Does that mean magic's real?" she blurted quickly without a second thought. If Theia said yes, it would answer so many things that had gone unanswered.
The tone that Midori heard Theia use when she told her not to go looking for the monster made her promise herself she wouldn't. The woman seemed so worried for that second that it probably meant he wasn't very nice.

The Mirdori had used was excited. Of course a little girl would be excited, though, at the possibility of learning about real 'magic'. Theia tried to keep her tone nonchalant, not desiring to make it a big deal. "More or less." Maybe if she treated it like it was nothing, Mirdori would, too.
Now that she thought about it, magic seemed too small a term for what she'd experienced. Much too elementary. Still, she couldn't think of another word to describe it. Any of it.

| The little girl was surprised that Theia said that more or less magic was real. Instead of denying it like most things, she'd just said yes. "Ooh," escaped her lips.
The next thought that entered Midori's mind was that the world should know about this magic. "Can we go tell someone? Shouldn't everyone know? There might be more people like you who were given powers out there," Mi said, as she really was itching to know if there more people like Theia.

Theia started, then shook her head insistently at Midori. ”No. I—you can’t tell anyone.” She couldn’t imagine what might happen if the general public knew about it. With proof, there might be disbelief, shock, an outbreak. But she’d read too many post-apocalyptic books in her lifetime, and they were getting to her head.
”Please don’t tell anyone about it.” She clutched her book and looked down, suddenly feeling a lot younger than she was. She was scared and afraid that she’d made a mistake by coming out here in the first place. ”Please, Midori.”

| "I promise I won't tell anyone." The words escaped her lips before she had even thought about what Their had said. She just had seemed so scared that Midori felt like she needed to say them. The girl would probably end up blabbing about it at some point, but feel terrible afterwards. Realizing it was getting dark, and that she'd probably be found soon, the girl decided she should probably go home. "Well, um, it's getting dark. I should probably be heading home now before my parents get worried," she said, getting up from the ground and brushing off the dirt from her pants. THEIA UROS |

Thankful for Midori's promise, Theia sighed of relief and let her shoulders drop. She hadn't realized that she'd been so tense in her position until then.
Theia nodded. "That would be best." She got up as well, brushing the grass off of her clothes. She was still exhausted from using her powers, and she could really use a long hot shower and maybe even a glass of wine.
@midori end thread i guess
