■ Dotty was born into an upper class family in California. She knew luxury personally and was involved in social events from a young age.
■ Dotty was always very active, so it proved no surprise to her family when she decided at a young age that she really wanted to take up ballet.
■ A pretty average girl, she really only really excelled in dance and basketball - a sport she picked up short after her interest in dance appeared - while her grades stayed in the C+ - B+ range and her social life remained fairly restrained.
■ When she got into high school Dotty made the final decision that she really wanted to be a great dancer. As a result she dropped all her other extracurricular activities and funneled even more time into her dance than she previously had.
■ Once she was 16 Dotty began auditioning for ballet companies. It was a shock to her to see so much talent, and she was crushed when she found herself failing audition after audition. Eventually though, a few years later, she found herself making the cut. For a year she danced cashed in her hard work's profit. But it couldn't last, nothing could.
■ After spending a night out with friends she made her way home to her apartment when she was caught off guard by quickly approaching lights. Dotty was hit by a car, and while she wasn't fatally wounded her right side had been badly damaged by the impact.
■ Physical trauma from the crash and surgery left her right side, leg especially, damaged in such a way that dance was no longer an option. Her career was over before it truly began.
■ Depression hit Dotty hard, and she quickly spiraled downward. She started smoking, started drinking, and walled herself off.
■ Still suffering, but wanting to move on, Dotty managed to get her wits together well enough to attend college for a few years, earning a bachelor's degree in law after four years.
■ Finding a job proved simple with her family's connections, and she quickly found herself living in West Nova Athenis, working under a well established law firm to make her money. Not her dream, but enough to keep her mind off of it during the day.
