nathaniel moreau isn't very pleasant to be around. he's lacked empathy for other living beings for as long as he can remember; maybe he was simply born like that, with a cavity where his heart should've been. he falls easily into sociopathic tendencies, though for the most part nate feigns normality with a practiced ease. in lieu of the normal spectrum of passions and emotions, he feels numb. he is a misanthrope and a narcissist. in a world devoid of meaning, in a society in which he plays the black sheep, he has carefully circumscribed his sphere of existence. he doesn't form emotional attachments. everyone around him is a nuisance. he is exalted. life is, for the most part, tedious and pointless.
