[attr="class","text-area"]Her shoulder bag kept trying to slide off her shoulder, so Petunia kept hold of the strap whilst chatting idly on her phone. It was Cindy, a good friend of hers, and Petunia felt at peace and restful speaking about new movie releases and unfaithful boyfriends.
Keeping her phone to her ear with her shoulder, she brushed out the knots in her hair with her fingers as she headed closer and closer to her workplace. It was then, evidently, with her mind side tracked did her bag become vulnerable. Someone behind her took this chance to snatch it off her and run. All Petunia could do was watch him leave with wide eyes for about three seconds, before she closed her phone, shoved it in her pocket and shout: "Please give me my bag back!" As she gave chase, running across the road recklessly.

Arlo had been on his way to work, though not too happily. As punishment for coming home more drunk than was easy to hide the night before, his Dad had revoked his use of the car for a week. Which Arlo considered ridiculous on too many levels, but he dealt with it regardless. He was just stuck with walking to work.
He'd left the house early, so he had plenty of time to get to work. A yell from a woman's voice caught his attention, and he looked up from the sidewalk to see a man running towards him across the street, and a blonde chasing after. He impulsively put himself in way of the man, and both tumbled to the ground. In the tussle he managed to get the bag, but the thief ran back down the sidewalk.
He picked himself up and held the bag, nursing what spots on his person were sure to become bruises. "Uh, is this yours?" He asked.

Wiping the tears from her eyes - for running across the road was a rather traumatic event for Petunia - she laughed in relief and collected the bag from the kind stranger who helped her out.
"Thank you so much!" She bowed, and smiled at him for good measure. "I really really appreciate your help! Without my bag, I wouldn't know what I'd do... Is there anything in the world I could do to repay your kindness?" Petunia leaned in, blinking with all the innocence the world could muster.
It was then she noticed her savior was in pain. Gasping in shock, she took his hand in hers and looked at him seriously.
"Are you ok? Do you want me to take you to a doctor?"

Arlo half-smiled and shook his head. "Ah, no problem. I was kind of in the guy's way, anyways." He raised his eyebrows, and leaned back just slightly as the girl leaned in. The sparkle in her eyes, however sincere, was kind of unsettling. He didn't come across attitudes like that very often, if at all. "Uh, no, that's alright. You don't have to get me anything."
He chuckled a bit after the girl took his hand; she sure seemed zealous about his wounds. "Nah, I don't need a Doctor. They're just a couple bruises." He paused, felling a little bit rude, and somehow he felt obligated to make up for it. "Thank you, though." He paused, gave her a once-over to see if she was okay. "What's your name?"

She smiled, nevertheless; this stranger seemed awfully lovely. It was always good to talk to strangers, especially one who saves you from impending doom.
"Are you sure? Nothing? Not even my famous cookies? I make some really nice white chocolate chip cookies you know!" Petunia grinned, seemingly forgetting about his injuries already. She frowned though, remembering suddenly, and she stroked her chin with her free hand, the other still holding onto the stranger's hand.
"Well I can't make you, as much as I'd love to." Petunia pouted, hand now loose from his. She blinked twice as if she had forgotten something. Ah, right! Name!
"My name is Petunia Flores! Delighted to meet you! I work at the flower shop just literally..." Reaching her tip toes, she pointed to the far shop on the road opposite, a bit further down to where she was standing at first. "There!"
"And you? Sir? I can't exactly go addressing you as Mr Stranger in my head now can I?"

Arlo ran a hand through his hair; she seemed very energetic. He was getting a little tired already. But at least she didn’t have the annoying kind of energy like some of the girls at his school.
"In that case, I might just take you up on that." He grinned. He was only half joking; he really did like cookies. He’d taken a special liking to them since he started to work at Ornella’s pastry shop.
Arlo looked to where she was pointing, nodding as he recognized the place. He may not have been a Nova Native, but he knew most of it pretty well. "Oh, yeah? I’ve been there. Nice place."
"My name’s Arlo. It’s nice to meet you too." He smiled, softer now, at Petunia.

Petunia's face lit up; again, she was the kind of person to be easily pleased. She enjoyed other people's happiness, it was almost as if she fed on it. Perhaps it was her greatest fault.
"Oh! I'm so delighted! I could even deliver it to your address, hehe. I do owe you a lot, after all!" Petunia clapped her hands together, eyes twinkling. "Your address? Or your work?" She even took out her phone, ready to record his details.
"It is, isn't it! Everyone's really nice there, they take care of me very well! Our customers are really kind people! Ah, Nova Athenis is so lovely! I'm so glad I moved here." She beamed.
"Arlo! That's such a cool name!" Petunia handed her hand over to be polite. "So let's shake on it!"

Right to his address, huh? To Arlo it seemed like a little bit much, but he wasn’t going to turn down the offer when he’d pretty much just accepted it. That, he knew, would be rude.
”If you’re sure…” He paused before reciting his work address. Friendly or not, he didn’t really feel right giving his home address to a near-complete stranger. Besides, his house wasn’t all that inviting anyways. Frankly, he didn’t want to expose someone as nice as this to his sterile home environment and his stickler of a Dad who would no doubt throw away the dessert on sight. Even just the thought flared up frustration in Arlo.
”Yeah, Nova is pretty nice.” He admitted. He’d only been here since he was six, but already he felt like a native. It was almost like living in a place like California, but better.
He looked at the girl’s hand for a beat too long for comfort, before he took hold and shook it. ”Thanks.” He accepted the comment with a smile.

She noted the address down in the notes function, with utmost care, chuckling as if she found something secretly funny about it all. Ah, well, it seemed she'd be taking on some baking tonight! Best make sure to buy the ingredients after work.
"Thank you very much! I'll start work tonight! How wonderful, to do some baking!" She grinned up to him, holding her hands together, phone now returned to her bag. "This address... you work really close to me! I think I know this place! Yes, I've been there before, the atmosphere is truly enticing!" And now she looked as if she was trapped in a fragment of a fond memory.
Petunia shook his hand almost violently, shaking it up and down with the energy of a six year old. As quickly as she did though, she noticed the watch on her hand - ah, she was late!
She scrambled, viably looking jittery and nervous.
"I'm sorry, I'm going to have to go, Arlo! I'm late, I'm really late! I'm sorry for keeping you!"
With that, she rushed off, waving as she crossed the road without a care of how dangerous that was.
