It had been a while since Raz had taken a stroll along the beach, felt the sand under her bare feet, the cool water rush over her toes, and felt the salty breeze rustle through her hair. She'd forgotten how much she loved the shore and was most definitely enjoying herself to the fullest extent while being there.
That is, until she tripped over someone laying down on the sand. She went face first, palms grazing against the grains and sand flying in all directions. It was a good thing that her hair was pulled up or else sand would've gotten all in it.
When she'd gathered herself and sat up to wipe the beach off her face, she turned to look at what it was that had tripped her up and when she realized it was a person, she instantly felt bad and started to apologize. Of course she wiped off the sand she'd managed to get on him when she tripped, too.
"O-oh my god, I'm so sorry... I didn't see you there. I was just walking and tripped over you... Are you okay?" Raz asked when she'd gotten as much of the sand off of him that she possibly could find.

Just lying down in the sun, nothing to do and drifting in that blissful space between dreams and the irritant that was real life. For Aiden there was nothing better- in fact if he could be pardoned the melodrama which he was so fond of, and he usually was, the psychologist would call it heaven on earth.
Obviously something was going to come up and ruin it. Or in this case someone was going to come down, right on top of him- tripping over him and plowing into the ground.
For a minute Aiden had decided to be angry, he really had, but the tripper seemed somewhat off worse than him and seemed to be apologizing so earnestly that he just couldn't find it in him. Plus being angry was just too much effort to be worth it.
"It's okay- I understand. really I'm fine." he told her, waving his hands soothingly in order to placate the her.
Really, people needed to relax, not sweat the small stuff and -most importantly- let him return to his moment of bliss.
"Why don't you sit down and catch your breath and all?" Aiden offered, patting the sand invitingly.

Blinking and happy that the guy wasn't upset at her, she nodded and took a seat next to the man, crossing one leg over the other as she got comfortable in the sand.
She idly played with the ends of her shirt, twisting and tugging against the fabric awkwardly as she stared down at her hands messing with the blouse.
Eventually she reached up with a hand and pushed a few locks of hair behind her ear, trying to keep it from blowing in her face through the wind. She had an elastic around her wrist, but she didn't feel like using it just yet. What if the guy tried to talk to her while she was fixing her hair? That would be very awkward to talk through. She decided against it and waited to see if the man would say anything.
The silence was nice, but a bit uncomfortable for Raz, considering the man beside her was a complete stranger.

Thankfully the person who had so suddenly dropped into his day -quite literally really- took his offer, relaxed and decided to sit back in the sand. Aiden took the opportunity to try to regain his Zen-like state of being at peace with the world. A mutual agreement not to bother each other and let Aiden bask in his laziness in bliss, a pact to live and let live and not throw him in any situations which would require more than mild effort to resolve.
Simple idea really, whatever you may call it.
Unfortunately this attempt of regaining aforementioned, and eloquently elaborated, state was brutally shot down before it could even clear the runway.
Really some people just couldn't relax. First it was messing with her clothes and then it was the reaching up to toy with her hair. All in all her -nervousness? social awkwardness?- had made the general aura distinctly uncomfortable and not at all what Aiden had been striving to achieve. Eventually the psychologist gave up and tried to get her at ease. Just enough to dispel the atmosphere and allow for some mutual relaxation. It couldn't be too hard- after all it was his job in a nutshell.
"Ah, how rude of me; I completely forgot to introduce myself!" Aiden spoke up, breaking the ice "I'm Aiden Shaw." he said, giving a cheerful smile with freckled nose all scrunched up.
OOC: should it snow? I dunno- so I'll leave it up to you kat darling.

She looked at the man, who's name she knew suddenly, and smiled a bit, though she was still nervous a bit. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Raz Dubois..."
She continued to look him over, watching his small movements. Just because she knew the guy's name now didn't make things suddenly peaches and cream. She didn't act rudely, however. It wasn't good to be rude.
OOC: I don't think it snows in nova, but I dunno... I'll say no just to be on the safe side :>

Aiden smiled up at the sky from his perch on the sand. Perhaps not the blissful silence that he had been enjoying earlier, but it wasn't something too taxing either. A fairly relaxed atmosphere could be seen in the near future with a lack of anything too bothersome in the way. Of all the things Aiden had ever been called, 'high maintenance' or 'demanding' were not among them.
"Dubois...that's French isn't it? I thought I detected something in your accent." Aiden asked with his usual cheerfulness "My folks are from England, but I was born and raised here."
Here he turned towards his newest friend "So what brings you to my humble hometown Raz- if you don't mind me asking? Or are you a first generation Nova Athenite like me?"
He was just letting his tongue run away with itself now, but surely Raz won't mind. She seemed like the nice sort.
OOC: as you say boss lady ^^

It was surprising to hear him suddenly ask about her last name and accent, but she nodded and smiled softly, slowly, settling down a little bit more in the sand. She could feel herself relaxing more, little by little, as they talked.
"Oh, I'm, well... I dance and I'm here to practice dancing. My parents pay for my living arrangements even while they live in France," she replied, pulling her knees up to her chest as she looked over at Aiden. "They thought it good for me to expand my horizons, even if that horizon is only a little bit away from my hometown."
She didn't hate it, being here in Nova. It was nice to move somewhere else and see new sights, even if it wasn't her who decided it in the first place. She did comply, however.

Ugh; her parents sounded pushy- poor her. Well his parents were pushy too, even if they weren't so overt as to force him into a new house and city just to 'expand his horizons'. But then again Raz said she danced. For a profession. That was almost as scary as those people who showed up for work at 7 AM all bright and cheerful, and then volunteered for the extra shift. The sheer willpower and hyperactivity of some people amazed Aiden sometimes.
But he was obligated to continue the conversation, so after the small gap during which his thoughts ran away with themselves, the psychologist forged onward. "Dancing? Sounds interesting- if a bit tiring. I myself practice psychology."
Aiden thought about it for a few seconds and let out a small bark of laughter. "That's exhausting in it's own way now that I think about it."
OOC: sorry for the lateness; RL and muse issues
