Rhea definitely wasn't the considerate type, nor was she the caring type. She kind of did what she wanted without thinking of others. She didn't know why she offered to help Viola, help her learn the ways of the keyboard. She broke out her old beginner's manual for this, it was actually in decent condition aside from the dust that came out of it when she placed it in front of Viola. She didn't open it though, she turned glanced at Viola, "Let me see your starting position."

Viola's eyes were wide, like a rabbit caught in headlights.
But she hesitantly, and note, hesitantly, made her way in front of the keyboard. Then she took a careful seat down, tucked her legs in, straightened her back like she saw people who played piano on TV dramas did.
Her fingers were cupped, each finger on a white key.
Then she turned to her instructor, the main cause for her nerves, searching for a look of approval. It was true Viola had asked around for help with instruments, to Rhea first, especially after hearing about her experience with so many kinds; she didn't expect her to agree. Rhea looked scary, and imposing, and judgmental.
But she asked for this.
"Is this... ok?"

Posture's good, fingers cupped, seated nicely, Rhea is a little happy that she knows at least this much. "It's good for someone who's never played before," she says. "You watch a lot of pianists on T.V?" She can tell Viola's tense though, being tense while playing isn't good in Rhea's books. When she plays, she plays relaxed but still with perfect posture. She figures it's nerves or something, she'll get over them eventually.

"Uh, yeah! I guess so. I used to watch a lot of TV if I wasn't... practicing..." She laughed nervously. Viola never liked getting into details about her vocal training, it was difficult, and people thought she was bragging.
"I... didn't know you played the keyboard too!" She said, mustering up a bit more courage. "I knew you played a lot of instruments, but that's really cool." Her fingers pressed lightly on the keys, not hard enough, however, to make a sound.

Rhea resists the urge to roll her eyes. She's nervous and Rhea doesn't know what to say to make her feel less nervous. She's never been good at this sort of thing, she's never been good at the whole emotions and nerves thing in general really. So she pretends to not have noticed Viola's nerves. "It's not that cool, but thanks I guess." Playing multiple instruments are pretty common in the music industry after all. Rhea opens up the manual in front of Viola and holds it open for her. "We're going to learn the C scale first alright?"

Her jumble of words never managed to make it out as sentences and words, but Viola nodded instead, staring at the now open instruction book.
"Okay! So do you... uh... What do you do?" Viola grimaced. She understood the notes, but where was she supposed to press?

Rhea stands beside Viola and places her fingers on a set of keys that mimics Viola's. She presses down on the key where her thumb rests. "This is C, the key where your thumb is middle C, for obvious reasons." Then she plays the next key, "Next is D." She runs through the keys C through G, letting her know which key is what letter and what not. She removes her fingers from the keyboard and looks at Viola, "Now you do it."

When Rhea let go of her fingers, Viola tried to let go of her nerves, but her fingers were still shaking a little.
"So this is middle C," She repeated, pressing her thumb down. "D, E, F, G..." She spoke the corresponding notes that sat under the rest of her fingers. "Ah! This makes sense!" Viola nodded with a bit too much excitement.

Rhea smiles a little bit, Viola is energetic, that's cool. Not many get too excited when they're just learning. "Good, now practice a few times going up and down the scale," she says. "Once you feel comfortable we'll add a few more notes and I'll teach you a song or two."
