At a first glance, France is great. Ellie doesn't quite understand how she and Angelo made it to France, but she thinks it's great because now she can cook Angelo that thing he wanted her to make! She doesn't quite remember what he wanted, but she's sure he does, or she hopes he does at least. Or else they're in France for no reason, which isn't bad! But she's pretty sure her momma is at least somewhat worried about her whereabouts. "H-hey Angelo, what are we looking for again," she asks. ANGELO MARTINELLI

Angelo wasn't exactly the most sane individual on the planet, that's probably why he thought tapping into his savings account and buying two coach tickets for him and an elementary school girl to buy french ingredients for frog's legs was a good idea. He held Ellie's hand as they weaved through the people at the market place, he didn't want her to get lost. "Frog legs, and eh, spices. You gotta cook for me, you promised. Maybe we'll pick up a cook book to help you out. You do know how to read, yes?"

Ellie nods rather enthusiastically, "Y-yeah... I read pretty okaly." Secret lessons for Theia have helped her develope her reading skill, so it's pretty decent, but she doesn't know how decent it is. She doesn't want to let Angelo down, so she plays it off like she's a great reader. She's scared she won't be able to read all the words in a cookbook if they buy one, she'll definitely do her best though. "W-where are we going to get frog legs... a-and the spices to go along with them?"ANGELO MARTINELLI

He smiled at her. Good, she could read. That made things easier for Angelo in the long run. Wait, the books would be in French! God damn you France. He knew enough French to probably get himself around in a cookbook. "How about french?" Angelo asked, almost desperately. "We buy them in the markets, and eh, we can always ask around for spices." He didn't take Ellie to France to just eat frogs' legs in Paris - no that would be expensive. The pair had to cook them in their tiny hotel kitchen. @nan04

Ellie hesitates before shaking her head, "Umm... w-well we haven't started learning French, we only started learning to read a few weeks ago actually... Sorry..." Ellie isn't quite sure why she's apologising, her inability to read French isn't really her fault... or maybe it is...? "O-oh okay! Um, do you speak or um... read French... Angelo?" She figures he does since they probably wouldn't be here if neither of them spoke French... ANGELO MARTINELLI

He hung his head in despair. "Yes, yes... I do read French." He didn't want to read French. He never liked reading French. Why did his mother make him learn it? The French were stupid anyway. Stupid weak people who forgot that Russia was cold. Oh yes, Angelo knew his history! Well... Not his, but world history. "We need to find a bookstore, yeah. I would think any self.. uh, respecting cookbook writer would include frog legs, and snails. Maybe we'll make snails too, yeah?"@nan04

Ellie's eyes light up in relief, that's good! It would've been very bad if neither of them could read French. Then their trip to France would've been completely pointless and a waste of time, well. It was nice to have a change of scenery actually, Ellie thought France looked nice, for well, another country? She doesn't really know, she likes Nova better, but France is cool, she guesses.
Ellie shrugs, a bit hesitantly if anything. "O-okay, w-well, if you want me to make snails too... I guess I can try, b-but we should read the cookbooks before we buy one! S-so we know that they have the recipes okay?"

"Oh okay! That's a good idea." Ellie was a smart girl, especially for being seven. He didn't think he was smart enough to read books before he bought them at that age, then again, he didn't read at that age either. Never did his reading homework either, fuck schoolwork. "You're gonna eat them too!" In all honesty, he wanted to see the look on her face after she tried snails. Angelo tried them once before, and they weren't... terrible. He tugged on her hand, tugging her into a bookshop. "I am guessing I have to read them all, yes? Shit."What was cookbook called in French? @nan04
