STRODE, JULIUS M.

✖ is the second eldest of four children, and came from a family who largely works under the fist of justice; his father was the chief of police in the city of New York, while his mother was a well-known prosecutor—each having been involved in a multitude of major cases related to crime.

✖ initially attended a school for theater arts after graduating high school, acting having been his passion. Well into his second year, however, Julius' father suffered a stroke that delayed some significant strides in a couple of criminal cases; in order to ease his father's burden, Julius withdrew from school and began to be more active with his parent's case load, working with the police department to catch wanted felons. To gain credibility with law enforcement, he also enrolled in a police academy and endured its six-month regimen before graduating, earning the title of cop.

✖ recently recruited to Nova Athenis' police department to work undercover, Julius adopted his mother's maiden name of Strode to replace his real surname of Spencer as a tweaked alternate name; his fictitious job is that of a writer, and so far in his three months since moving to the island, he has documented various subjects in the community—such as activism, the environment, people, newly opened shops, etc.—that have been released as articles to make his background as a journalist more believable.

✖ prefers to be called Jules, and will openly introduce himself as such, but may also be referred to as Mattie (albeit the aforementioned sobriquet is mostly tossed around by family members, with what number of Juliens, Julias, Juliets, and Jul-somethings there are among relatives).
