FINCH, JAMESON

Jamie was born in Italy, into a mafia family, but was never particularly suited for it. His father is one of the brothers of the Martinelli don, though not one of the particularly powerful ones. His mother also came from an influential family - heiress to the head of a major corporation. She was killed in a car crash when Jamie was nine, and he doesn't remember much about her.

After her death, Jamie's father, too busy to rear a child, sent him to Nova Athenis, where he's been living with his Uncle Primo ever since. He's a bit of a black sheep among his relatives - quiet and passive and certainly more sane.

Despite being a very intelligent, well-mannered and reliable person, Jamie suffers from chronic insomnia and sleep deprivation. At best he's a little slow and sleepy, at worst it amplifies his neuroses, leaves him scatter-brained and hallucinating.

Though he is calmer and more reserved than the rest of his family - less dangerous, for sure - Jamie is not completely harmless. He may be endlessly patient when it comes to his family, but he is a mafia kid at heart and is certainly capable of violence as a last resort.
