SHE SAID SPREAD YOUR WINGS YOU LITTLE BUTTERFLY The days were getting shorter, the temperature was starting to drop, and Erik was constantly reminded of the fact that he was excited for winter. While snow was a rarity, it was nice to be able to wrap himself up in the leather jacket he'd saved for this season, and on top of that he had his favorite, ratty scarf hidden somewhere. Oh man, was he excited. Though, it also meant that his secondary profession was going to be severely lacking. It wasn't that he was going to be too far behind, it was just that doing the whole 'shady guy on the corner' routine was going to have to stop as he slowly relied on his usual customers. Erik wasn't too worried, though, because if all else failed he could keep himself out of debt by dipping into his extra money. Until then though, he waited. For what, he wasn't sure. @noemi

Noémi had been jogging for almost forty minutes already - or so she would've guessed. She wasn't keeping track of the time but she figured she'd wandered far enough from her posh apartment block. The sun was sitting heavy, three-quarters in the sky and she knew it was time to run home.
At a corner she stopped, tilting her head to read street signs. In her pause, she caught a familiar sight in her periphery. Now, for Noémi relationships were only things of convenience, further defined by a four digit number. She didn't need love and affection so much as a pin number and a visa she could charge. Kisses? How about car keys.
"Erik?" she said, pulling out her headphones. Noémi's tone was something that could be taken as soft, if the listener was optimistic and keen on wishful thinking. | [attr="class","tttrepid"]@erik |

SHE SAID SPREAD YOUR WINGS YOU LITTLE BUTTERFLY Well he wasn't going to say he was expecting to run into a certain Noémi while he was out on his rounds. Actually, he was hoping he was going to be able to avoid her until after he was done, but when she showed up out of the corner of his eye he knew that he wasn't going to get everything he wanted. It didn't mean that he wasn't happy to see her, though. A smile crossing his face as she eventually made her way up to him, suddenly hearing her call out his name when she came closer. "Noémi." He greeted, motioning for her to follow him on his now-walk. Dealing could be set aside to spend some time with his girlfriend. He waited for her to ask the inevitable 'what are you doing here?'. @noemi

After this morning, here was something clear-cut, and she enjoyed it. "I was actually thinking about calling you," she sad flatly, wrapping her headphones around her phone and tucking it into the pocket of her track jacket. "My apartment's getting sprayed for bugs; can I stay with you a day or two?"
White lies never hurt anyone, not as much as her migraine was hurting her. She didn't plan on returning home any time soon, whether Erik invited her over or not. There was too much opportunity for bad decisions - decisions like having a heart beat. It didn't suit her at all. And as to why he was here - she didn't care. To each their own, right? It wasn't in her taste to ever wander into the entertainment district (or anywhere even bordering on "slum") but she had been too spacey to make the right turn. | [attr="class","tttrepid"]@erik |

SHE SAID SPREAD YOUR WINGS YOU LITTLE BUTTERFLY A brief grin spread across his face when she mentioned calling him while they were busy, and while it would have been a nice distraction, it was one he couldn't have afforded anyway. Then again, he wasn't entirely sure why he hadn't called her once or twice to begin with, but then again he didn't think about it long. "Yeah, sure." He bit on his lower lip for a moment, debating on telling her now or later. "An old friend is spending some time up in the penthouse as well, because she doesn't have anywhere else to go." Kasper Hunt, one of Erik's best friends. Honestly, the idea of Erik giving just about anyone whatever they wanted was no longer a foreign to him. @noemi

What a sick coincidence. "That's nice of you," she said absently, wondering if she should've just told him about Frank. But now it was too late and back tracking would make her look more suspicious. It wasn't even a sense of justice or guilt that made her think - just wondering about how to procede in the situation with social regard.
Habit pushed her to complain about something, or maybe it was just a case of the shopping bug - maybe she should prod him for lingerie. Right now she stared blankly ahead, following him. "How's your day been?" she didn't sound invested at all but didn't care enough to inject any emotion into her tone. This whole thing would disintegrate soon enough, anyway. | [attr="class","tttrepid"]@erik |

SHE SAID SPREAD YOUR WINGS YOU LITTLE BUTTERFLY He shrugged, somehow unsure of whether he was doing exactly the right thing. Some days the line was a definite yes or no, and others it was more of a gray area. He had a feeling that he was dancing along in the gray area most days, but then again he was never certain. From the tone in her voice ( or was it the way she looked ahead? ), Erik could tell that she wasn't really caring about the talk between them. Noémi never really was. Ironically, it was one of the things he found that he liked about her. "Tedious, actually. Business has been a bit slow for comfort. You?" In ll honesty, he was a little curious. Then again, it would make him a bit of a bad boyfriend to not. @noemi

She put a finger to her face, traced the bottom of her lip with her eyes still far off. "Must make the days seem long." All she had to say on the matter, honestly.
She thought about holding his hand. Noémi didn't exactly want to - she wondered if it would make this go smoother. Every thing she did was for the sake of social niceties. She needed interactions to go smooth as silk. "I met ran into a friend from high school this morning." Last night - but right now she was cool and composed so it didn't matter. She was back to her normal self. Flawless skin, glowing practically. Beautiful and controlled. All she could ever want. | [attr="class","tttrepid"]@erik |

SHE SAID SPREAD YOUR WINGS YOU LITTLE BUTTERFLY For some reeason things felt tense. Like there was something Noemi wanted to say, but she wasn't going to say it yet. He wasn't about to mention it, though, seeing as how he was more interested in delaying it, seeing where the tide would take itself in comparison to how he would push it. Then again, he wondered why he felt a sinking feeling that it wasn't going to be a particularly good thing in the end. "Oh." Small talk. He hated it, he was certain Noemi wasn't a fan of it. "A good friend?" He didn't know much about her past, then again he didn't disclose much on his past to anyone. It was like a well kept secret. "Is there somewhere you want to go in particular or do you want to just wander aimlessly?" @noemi

A good friend? She shook her head a little, trying to think of a lie that would not only cover her bases but also put her on a pedestal. "Wielder of an unrequited love," she said with a little chuckle.
Putting Frank down somehow calmed her. She reached out to take Erik's hand but there wasn't any warmth in the action. There was no warmth in Noémi at all. She was here to give men frostbite. "Were you doing anything? We could go back to your place." | [attr="class","tttrepid"]@erik |

SHE SAID SPREAD YOUR WINGS YOU LITTLE BUTTERFLY A chuckle managed to escape him in response to what he thought was a joke. At least, he was certain that it was that with how she said it, and to be honest if she was serious Erik wasn't sure that he wanted to know. "I shouldn't be concerned, should I?" he asked, a certain amount of joking in his tone as he grinned over at Noemi. When he reached out to take his hand, Erik held on to her's, a little surprised that she actually initiated something, even if it was a bit cold from her end, Erik had enough warmth for the both of them. "Well, I was waiting for someone, but he was late to show up. I don't think it's too far from here, actually." @noemi

She laughed, stressing what a funny thought that was. "He's no threat to anyone," and her voice sounded cool and steely.
"Alright," she said, as far as going to his apartment meant. Noémi had a sneaking suspicion that Erik had reached his expiration date in her eyes. She was going to run with it though. "What about dinner?' Her tone betrayed nothing. | [attr="class","tttrepid"]@erik |

SHE SAID SPREAD YOUR WINGS YOU LITTLE BUTTERFLY He took her word for it, just like he took her word for a lot of things. If she said her friend wasn't a thread - especially to him - then he was going to take the news with a smile. Plus, it wasn't like her being generous rivaled his own being generous, what with the fact that he had been living with Kasper for a while. She was just a friend, and this person was just a friend to Noemi. When she asked about dinner, he frowned a little, looking around as if to gather his bearings. "We can go to dinner, too. Whatever you want." He'd buy her an island if she asked, but then again there wasn't much he wouldn't do if anyone asked. @noemi
