Nathan spent his duration of detention trying to chat up the new maths teaching assistant (who was damn blessed in the chest area) and trying to blow the biggest bubble to impress her using his last pack of coca cola flavoured bubblegum. Then, after he decided he was failing miserably, he decided to decorate the random table he was sitting at with mud from his shoes and scribble over left behind textbooks under the desk. And then finally, his time was up. With a grin and a wink, the eighteen year old literally winked and sped down the corridor and down the stairs to eventually get to the entrance with his backpack slung from one shoulder. Making clicking noises with his tongue, he peered around, noting that not a single soul was around. Just at that moment, rain clouds boomed and precipitation throw itself down onto the earth mercilessly. Even Nathan, who usually shrugged things off that had nothing to do with partying, alcohol, drugs and getting into girl's pants, was shocked. Wow, mother nature certainly was moody tonight. Probably her own monthly gift doing the trick. Suddenly remembering about that girl last week who forced him to take an umbrella with him and he shoved it in his bag in front of her so she wouldn't get upset, Nath rummaged through it to produce what he was looking for - the black, seemingly expensive, expandable umbrella. Shaking it out to expand, he walked a few steps before he stopped, eyes widening. "Ey BRO! OVER THERE! WHAT THE FUCK YOU DOIN' OUT HERE?" Nathan shouted, as he ran over to the wheelchair figure. There was many shit he was responsible of, but he was never a bad guy. Just misguided. @amory

A mory wasn't the type to get detention. He very rarely was in any kind of trouble after all. So his reason for staying late wasn't detention. The blonde had stayed after to take a test he missed and just finished it. Waiting for his grandmother to arrive, he never expected to run into anyone he knew. So it caught him off guard to hear the familiar voice calling out to what hd could only assume was to him.
He glanced over, raindrops rolling down his cheeks and forhead. "Oh, Nathan! Hey!" He chimed, wearing a bright smile. "I stayed after to take a test I missed, what about you? I never expected to see you at school this late." Amory brushes soddened hair from his forehead. He hadn't thought to bring an umbrella but he probably should have. The rain felt good though. It was refreshing somehow so he didn't mind it. | @nath |

Satisfied that he managed to get both himself and Amory under the umbrella - of course, himself getting a little wet, the umbrella wasn't the size of Australia - he looked down, shaking his head, spare hand holding onto a handle of the wheelchair. "Why are you lettin' yourself get soaked, man? It's not good for ya!" He scolded, despite Nathan doing so regularly. While he could always just crash somewhere and get a shower, and maybe get a cold afterwards, in his little head he always thought if Amory got sick, the consequences were far more serve. Nathan wasn't one of those prissy girls who brought a towel wherever he went, but for that second he seriously considered being one. Goddamn it, why couldn't the stupid fucker look after himself? Then Nathan didn't have to fucking care! Wouldn't that be easier, now? "Meh, I'm surprised you haven't guessed, got detention again after pissing off some other teacher. I'm over it already." Nathan shrugged, as if to prove his point. "But mate, how're you getting home?" Nathan asked, as he began to wheel Amory further away from the school with the umbrella held under his chin, obviously without permission. @amory

A mory looked up at his friend—all he ever did was look up at people—and smiled. He was being scolded, but something about it was endearing. He must have seemed so fragile in the eyes of the people around him. “I forgot my umbrella. I didn’t think it would rain today. Besides, the rain feels nice.” Nathan had a point though. He really shouldn’t have been letting himself get drenched, not when it was so cold out. He suppressed a shiver that ran down his spine as if a response to his thoughts.
“The teacher’s always give you such a hard time,” the blonde frowned. He knew it was probably partly his companions fault but he knew the teacher’s didn’t have to be so hard on him. Nathan wasn’t the bad guy he seemed to be. As far as Amory was concerned, the blonde was just misunderstood. If only they saw the Nathan who he called his friend then they wouldn’t give him detention so much. “My grandma was supposed to pick me up but she might be held up at work.”

Nathan scoffed. "Who're you kidding? Because you're not fooling me! This ain't some light drizzle. Even a perfectly healthy one like me would get sick running around in this rain-" He snorted, only to realise what he had just said to the disabled boy. "Uh, wait, I mean- to be honest, I ain't so healthy. I mean, I can't run around as much as I used to playing sports an'all. I was stupid." Nathan forced a laugh. He knew why he was making himself sick with alcohol, drugs, and reckless sex but next to someone like Amory who had no choice being 'un-healthy' made him feel a little bad. Maybe. "And what's new?" Nathan rolled his eyes, but continued to roll Amory further away from the school. "It's nothing. They all got someone they wanna blame to further their egos. Either way, I dun really care." He shrugged just to prove his point, but he knew just a little afterwards that such a gesture would go immediately missed. "Do you live too far from 'ere? I'll walk you home, no worries." Not like he had anything better to do anyway, and it'd make himself feel better by helping Amory out. @amory

Amory’s lips parted and a soft peal of laughter slipped passed them. “Don’t worry Nathan. You aren’t going to offend me or anything.” He let his eyes wondered around the rainy avenue. Then he paused as if considering something. “You’re right though. You haven’t been looking very well lately. Have you been sleeping or eating enough?”
He considered the question. “Nothing, I guess.” The blonde mused. Poppy was spending more time over his place, but he didn’t think Nathan wanted to hear about that. He tried not to let his hopeless pining over the girl be the center of every conversation, even if he loved to talk about Poppy and how highly he thought of her. “I’m glad you don’t let it get to you.” He chuckled.
“Oh, thanks. I only live a couple blocks away.”

Nathan sighed a breath of relief, but otherwise didn't do or say anything. He listened to Amory intensely instead, thinking that it was the only thing he could really do for the boy.
Although, at Amory's concern, he could only shrug, only to realise Amory couldn't see him shrugging from his wheelchair. "Eh, can't say I'm great, but I can't say it's anyone's fault but my own." Nathan scratched his head uneasily. He never liked talking about feelings and the 'why the fuck did you do that' kind of thing. Nathan followed his heart, and if it would bring him to ruin, so be it. He was far too deep to come out of the other end.
"Alright. Do you think you could hold onto the umbrella?" Nathan handed the black umbrella to the boy, and ducked down so he could get some coverage over his head as he began to wheel him further and further away from the school. A few cars zoomed by on the road, and Nathan took care to avoid walking by the road too much, in case the water would get up and attack.
"Tell me where to go, yeah? Don't wanna end up in Australia or somethin'."

The cloud hovered high and laden with rain. Many of them were so thick they darkened the sky. It looked later than it was as a result. He picked out a glowing patch of clouds, however, find the misty brightness strangely comforting. The shower of rain itself was cool and not entirely unpleasant. But he held the umbrella as he was asked.
They dodged sprays of water churned up by the whirling tires of cars. Amory watched the wave created with brief facination. "Take a left after the light here." He piped up after coming back to reality. Maybe he would paint what he saw today. "But I wouldn't mind if we ended up in Australia. I hear its nice this time of year." He joked.
