Satsuki sat down at her desk, straightening out the textbooks and papers as the students of her last class stood up from their desks, chairs scraping against the tiled floor and books hastily shoved into backpacks. The school day was over, and she was somewhat exhausted. Her students had been quite unruly that particular day, and hard to manage. But luckily, she managed to make her lessons interesting enough to keep them under control.
The teacher wasn't done yet though; she had received notice the day before that she was supposed to provide a student with tutoring after school - Nathan Saunders. He wasn't in any of her classes (Japanese was an elective, after all) but she had heard about his delinquent habits and failing grades that often gave her coworkers headaches. Satsuki wasn't about to give up on him from the get-go, however. She preferred to create opinions based on the person himself, rather than what other people said about him.
Speaking of which...he was late. It had been fifteen minutes since classes ended, and they were supposed to start five minutes ago. "I suppose I'll have to go look for him then," she mumbled to herself, opening the door to her classroom.

| Nathan itched the back of his head with a sly grin and glasses sitting on the bridge of his nose. He had just pinched them from a girl who wore them to look 'nerdy'. What a lil freak. But maybe the teacher he was assigned to for 'tutoring' might think he actually was the kind who had brains but no motivation. Hey, he'd fancy that as the truth. Although it was something he thoroughly didn't believe in.
Funnily enough, just as he had (slowly) walked down the corridor to Miss Whatsherface's classroom, the door swung open, with Nathan grinning widely.
"Yo, wassup teach." He pushed his glasses down. "So how long's this gonna be? I'd rather be out than in, gotta say." He laughed, pushing past her to get into her room.

"Depends on how long it'll take for you to finish the lesson, Nathan," was Satsuki's calm reply, unfettered despite the boy's nonchalant attitude. She let the door swing back behind him, propping it open a couple inches with its stopper, before making her way over to her desk, where she leafed through a stack of papers and pulled out a small pile.
"Your teachers have told me that you're lacking in your classes," the Japanese teacher commented, picking out a pencil and settling down in a student desk across from Nathan. She tucked the pencil behind her ear and looked at the first sheet of paper in the pile. "But since math seems to be the most difficult, we'll start with that first. Do you want me to start from the basics of what you've been learning this year, or would you like to try out what your class is learning right now?"

| In truth Nathan wasn't really paying attention to this teacher's words. In fact, he couldn't even remember what her name was. So he just looked at her with a bewildered expression like she was speaking some other language. Like Japanese. Or something.
He strolled over to a table, dragging out a chair to sit himself down. Moving his glasses up and down, he stopped for a moment, realising that he had to sneeze.
Looking up at the teacher, he narrowed his eyes and scrutinized her. Nothing spectacular, and sounded boring as fuck. But her face was... quite cute. It wasn't a face he'd get sick of easily, which was probably a good thing because he was tempted to walk out right about... now.
"Who're you again?" He asked, after letting out a long yawn.

Satsuki closed her mouth and watched Nathan's face carefully, taking in how he looked incredibly confused at what she was saying. In the back of her mind, she wondered if he even knew what he was here for. He sure didn't look like he knew, that's for sure. Turning her gaze to the pile of worksheets in front of her, the Japanese teacher wondered how exactly she was supposed to tutor someone who didn't even know he was being tutored.
Looking up, she was startled to find herself being scrutinized in return. Not sure what exactly she was supposed to do in this situation, Satsuki simply stared back, the two staring at each other until Nathan spoke. "My name is Ms. Takamura. I teach Japanese as a foreign language," she answered swiftly. After a moment's thought, she spoke again. "Tell me, Nathan: do you know why you're here?"

| His mouth made a little 'o' shape, and nodded very slowly. Japanese lady. Thought so. He was just so god damn clever, hell yeah! Giving himself a mental pat on the back, Nathan grinned, holding his chin in his hand. Yep, on close inspection, she was very cute. Now, if she was rich...
"Oh, Japan! Great, I like Japan! The tentacle porn really gets of me off sometimes." He snorted, and began to laugh at his own joke because he seriously doubted she was gonna do that. "Nah, I kid. It's all the time."
Nathan didn't like teachers and teachers didn't like him. It was just easier to get himself thrown out of the classroom and go home. But if he was honest, he really wanted to get off with someone tonight. His mouth was feeling quite dry.
"Oh right, yeh, you were askin' something right? What I'm doing here... To be honest, I ain't sure. I was under the impression I was supposed to be checking out teachers or something. Because damn, you really are pretty cute." He winked, smirking at himself.

She stared at the student, unfazed by his stereotypical tentacle porn joke that seemed to follow her wherever she went. What was with people and emphasizing a negative part of Japan? As he laughed at his own joke, Satsuki just continued to give him a blank stare, even as he stopped. Part of her childhood had been filled with jokes that weren't funny, courtesy of her father, and so she had perfected her "that wasn't very funny why are you laughing" stare over the years.
The teacher brushed aside Nathan's attempt at hitting on her. "You're here because your teachers asked me to help you with your studies," she informed him, looking down for her pencil and frowning when she saw that it wasn't there. She patted the pile of papers, then lifted it up to see if the writing utensil was underneath, completely forgetting that it was tucked behind her ear. "So we should start working on it, because the faster we start, the faster we finish."

| He laughed, voice undeniably a little shaky. "Your stare is cold as ice, darling." Closing his eyes and shaking his head, he got up to walk closer to the teacher's desk, to lean on the edge and stare into her eyes.
"Hrm? Really? 'Cause if that didn't happen, we couldn't spend quality time together. So y'know, maybe flunking more exams sounds like a sweet deal to me." He smiled lightly. Watching her look around for the thing that was trapped on top of her ear, he leaned it and picked it out, giving her a quick kiss on the forehead.
Licking his lips, Nathan waved around the pencil that was sitting on her ear before. "People still do that? It's cute, definitely. Looking for this baby?" He then handed it to her like a good student would.

"If you want to spend more time with me, graduate first and I'll think about it," was Satsuki's monotone reply as she gave Nathan another blank look. She was about to give up on the pencil and get another one when the student's hand reached over, lifting something from behind her ear while giving her a kiss to the forehead in addition. Surprise took over Satsuki's facial expression, and she stood up abruptly, causing her chair to fall over from the sudden movement.
"While displays of affection are somewhat tolerated between students, that sort of thing is forbidden between teachers and students. Please refrain from such actions from now on," the teacher stated stiffly, taking her pencil from Nathan while wiping a hand across her forehead. "Please take a seat. We need to begin now." She leaned down to upright her chair, and patiently waited for the blond to sit down at the desk.

| Her tone was as flat as her chest, it seemed. Yet why was he still trying to get one on her? The only explanation was that he was hoping he could get her to be disgusted with him so she'd just throw him out already.
He smiled thoughtfully, chin resting on his hand, not moving from straight in front of her. "But if I graduate, I'd be old! That ain't fun!" Nathan frowned cheekily. He was going to play the game until the end, damn it.
"Aw, just like a teach to ruin my fun." Nathan finally stood upright, fingers stroking an imaginary beard. "Why does it matter?" He then itched his nose, glasses sliding to the end of his nose. "You seemed all for it and everythin'," He just refused to let it go. "If you carry on speaking like that, you're always gonna be as flat as a pancake, y'know." Nathan looked at her with mock pity.
