Jobe was born into a family that was already generations into the police force. Where they were cold, calculating, and no-nonsense, he was much more easygoing. In his teenage years, he never could have imagined himself becoming so uptight. Though it should go without saying that he was a law abiding citizen to the T; easygoing or not, he didn't want to end up one of the few unlucky Whitmores with a criminal record.
He's mulled over a grudge against a certain brothel owner for a few years, though getting any kind of revenge has been kept on the back burner for quite some time now. It's been part of his motivation at work, but has also played a part changing him into the cold-hearted man he is today. That, and his family's influence eventually choking his previous easygoing spirit.
Keeping the peace is important in his line of work, so Jobe has zero tolerance for troublemakers and the like. He'd go to great lengths to keep Nova Athenis as law-abiding as possible, even if it meant stabbing someone in the back.
