KEEP THAT PERFECT BEAT BOY
| Before he headed home, Vivien belatedly remembered about the lack of bread in his small, but homely apartment with a view of a huge cluster of terrace houses. Itching the back of his head, his footsteps brought him to the usual bakery ten minutes from the station; the bread was fresh there, with a homely feel. Vivien felt odd without bread in the morning for breakfast - his father always had it, funnily enough.
On the way there, he managed to pick up a purse, with two notes, cards, and a student id with a girl wearing John Lennon glasses and a toothy grin. It was his school, so he shrugged, pocked it, and went on his way.
The bell on the door rang, the shrill cutting through the air cleanly. The shop was quiet, with only him standing by the door. The nineteen year old looked around, hand stroking his chin whilst he tried to find his usual loaf.

| Working at the Bakery was everything Hunter loved to do, and she was just as certain that she was going to eventually leave it one day as well. While one of the highlights of her day was serving customers with a smile, being able to see them grin as they got their baked goods, she did one day dream of being able to cook her own foods. Maybe even run her own bakery, and help fulfill a nineteen year old's dreams of being a chef. Whatever the cause, she knew that she wasn't going to be handing out people's breads and pastries for the rest of her life. Maybe a few more years, until she finished school and got a job as a real baker.
Until then, though, she was going to do exactly as she was told to do since her first day - wear a bright smile on her face, treat all of the customers as though they were V.I.P.s, and just all around be herself in the working environment.
Though, there was a strange lack of hustle and bustle as the day ticked on, Hunter standing behind her cashier, bored as all could be. When the jingle of the bell rang, Hunter looked up from the magazine that she was flipping through with a bright grin.
He walked over to the bread aisle, though, and Hunter looked back down to her magazine while waiting for him to come up to the counter. |

| His finger traced along the line of loaves - brown, white, seeded - and promptly picked up the latter. Throwing it up and down single handedly, his other hand went to reach for his wallet from his pocket, when he laid eyes upon the cashier.
Hey, isn't that-
Placing the loaf of bread on the counter, he took out a note and placed it on top. Then, out of his other pocket, he removed the purse he found and placed it in front of the girl.
"That's yours, right? Count your blessings." Vivien looked her in the eye, but his expressed remained as nonchalant and bored as ever.

| He seemed to be very occupied with the bread, as Hunter flipped the magazine closed and opted to look outside. It was much more interesting than the gossip of the week - that she didn't particularly care about which celebrity was dating who. Somehow, she had completely not noticed that she was without her bag. Then again, her karma was rather good, if it was lost then it was bound to make it's way back to her some time again. Eventually. Until then she was to stay at her post, looking out at the people who passed by.
The person was done, and he came up to the counter with his bread. "That'll be two-fifty." she chirped, grin bright as he removed her purse. Blinking for a moment, she looked over it - lo and behold it was her purse. "Yeah- Did I drop it or something? Thank you for bringing it back."
She paused, wondering how open he would be to sharing his name. "You don't have to pay for the bread. It's on the house." Not that she really owed him that, but it seemed like a good thing to do. He didn't have to give her the purse back. |

| The first thing he noticed was that this girl didn't seem that concerned about getting her purse back. He was surprised, but again, he didn't let that bother him.
But he couldn't say no to free food, so he nodded, taking it without another word. It was what he was after anyway. But he found this silence awkward. Really. Awkward.
"Be more careful."

| She was concerned, well as concerned as someone of her nature was going to get. In reality, Hunter probably had more faith in the human nature than most would think possible, and Vivien doing a little act like this seemed to be another reason for her to think it being the best thing ever.
And he took her free food, which Hunter grinned widely at. "That's like telling an elephant to be pink." She chuckled a bit, as though she had made a joke and Vivi was in on it, except maybe he wasn't.
"But I'll try." It was a promise she felt like she owed him, at least. |

| He kind of regretted his kind stance towards the stranger. He narrowed his eyes, then gave her a questioning kind of look, the kind that both judged and pitied. Because in Vivien's eyes, this girl was starting to look more and more like some ancient artifact, a wonderfully terrible freak of nature.
"Are you stupid or something." He spoke, bread now in a carrier bag and beside him. "Anyhow, your face seems un-stranger-like."

| Usually, when people bought their things, they tended to make their way out of the store, but Hunter just figured that this one wanted to stay for a little while. Despite his narrowed gaze, angry look, and she wondered what was going on in his head. Then again, it wasn't any of her business, so she didn't put much thought into it, before he decided to say something.
Frowning, Hunter gave the rhetorical question some thought, before just shrugging. He could think whatever he wanted of her, maybe it was to put his not-so-nice conscience at peace after doing a good deed, she didn't quite care. "Uh, I go to the university? Maybe you know me from there?"
That and she was well-known for just wandering around sometimes, but that didn't seem to be where he would have known her. |

| He narrowed his eyes, realisation befalling him.
He wasn't... trying to make conversation, was he? Vivien's eyes narrowed. He should be out the door, on the way home by now.
"I'm leaving." He suddenly announced, turned, and walked out the door.
