Usually, Erik wasn't one for a trip to the tea shop - but he usually didn't have a good book handy to read. That was what people did when they went to tea shops, right? They usually sat around tables either visiting other people or reading - and Erik didn't know anyone who would willingly go to a tea shop for a meetup. They were too "manly" or just too "cool" to go to a place with really good tea and snacks but it didn't quite bother Erik as much as it seemed to bother them.
So he walked in with his book, taking a seat in one of the corner tables and flipping it open. When the waitress came by, he ordered a green tea before taking out a pair of reading glasses - another thing that most wouldn't see in the hands of the Alejandro - and sliding them into place. It felt weird to be wearing glasses, especially since he really didn't like them, and he didn't know why he needed to wear them to begin with. It wasn't like his eyesight was that bad.
Actually it was pretty hard to read without them.
With a click, the green tea arrived, and Erik gave a polite smile to the waitress as he took a sip, making sure that no one in the shop would have noticed him ( or spoke about this if they did ) before returning to his book. CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE

know the measure of a pack, it's not a question of the whole | Out of the house, this was what was best for Marlene. Even if she still felt sick, wanted to lay around all day at times; there was no way. Walk like thunder, take the lead, he smiled at her as she slowly walked beside him. It wasn't something too stressful, a simple trip to sit, get some coffee (for him at least, she was utterly forbidden from it.) Today was... another nice day, quiet, calm. Nothing lurking over his shoulder, beside Marlene, and hopefully she'd smile today. Just one would be enough for him, as he reached his hand over and grabbed hers. "Cheer up, lovey. If I can somehow manage to have a good day, you can too."That smile, a sincere one. They were both, slowly, getting better in their own ways. Aeron wouldn't ever have that feeling of normality, not that he really cared about it.
The door chimed as he pushed it open, herding Marlene into the store. Along with that damned dog, and as an aid, it was allowed anywhere. He'd never disliked an animal so much, he swore it would glare at him across the room upon occasion. If he awoke to it above him with a weapon of any sort, somehow, he wouldn't be surprised.
What did surprise him however, was Erik, at a nearby table; with a book, no less. Slowly making his way over, he'd dropped Marlene's hand from his own; trusting her to be away for a few seconds. Gently he'd placed his hands on Erik's shoulders, before leaning down, right next to his ear, "Those glasses are really quite cute. I approve." This was guaranteed to be a good trip; no one expected to run into their fuck buddy/friendly neighborhood drug dealer in an innocent little shop like this one. At the same time though, thinking that, he somewhat tensed; he'd forgotten Marlene was with him for just a moment.
Introducing the two wouldn't be the best idea, would it? He could trust Marlene with such things, not yet, anyway. It'd be okay, though... She was never out of his sight for more than a few moments at a time, never out of arm's reach. He was the knight, though in no manner did he look like one.

The chime of the door went unnoticed, as Erik was too immersed in his literature to pay much attention. Green tea set off to the side, seemingly cooling as he slowly stirred it. Not too long after the ignored chimes came the feeling of hands on his shoulders, and for a moment he tensed. When Aeron's voice tickled his ear, though, Erik relaxed with a grin.
"Don't get used to it. I only wear glasses when I read." He closed the book, tilting his head to look up at Aeron. "You should join me, for a little while. Either that or I just go back to this book." He actually quite liked Aeron's company, despite him usually having strict customer-seller relationships with those he gave drugs to.

know the measure of a pack, it's not a question of the whole | With a soft smile, his hands slowly pulled off of Erik's shoulders as he took a seat across from him, grabbing the attention of a nearby waitress; if it wouldn't be any trouble, and of course she was sweet and ran off to get his order. "What a shame... I could be an open book if you'd like, but I don't think that counts does it?" He said, straightening himself in his chair.
He'd slept the previous night, the bags under his eyes were much lighter; in a sense, he looked human at the moment. "You know I'm much too good looking to ignore." He teased Erik lightly, eyeing the book in his hands. Good taste, which wasn't surprising. "What makes you come out like a normal person today?"

Chuckling, he placed the book on the seat next to him, shifting all of his focus on Aeron. "I don't really like wearing glasses. It makes me look less intimidating," and he knew that intimidation was an area that he needed all the help he could get. "A cheap shot as well, Caerwyn." He pouted, placing his chin in his palm.
At least it looked like Aeron was doing well, considering he wasn't nearly as pale from sleep deprivation as he sometimes was - not to mention the lack of bags. It looked good, Erik noted. "Wouldn't be the first time I ignored a work of art for literature." The waitress returned, Aeron's order in tow. "When I'm not stuck between dealing and the family busness, I do like to pretend I'm at least a little normal." CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE

know the measure of a pack, it's not a question of the whole | "You never were intimidating to begin with." Aeron smirked as he sat up to his full height, showing just how much he towered over Erik. He was missing that quality of a drug dealer, if Erik had come looking for money, you'd probably drop dead laughing, even if he had a baseball bat in hand.
"Literature is art." Aeron commented, taking a sip of his drink, burning his tongue just a bit. Normal, he snorted at that. As if any of their friend group, or circle of aqquantences were normal at all. "If you're a little normal, I'm terrified of what I am." he said, jokingly of course, but it didn't come out that way. It was a hard truth, while he was getting much better lately, it was leading to the worst of it.

"Well, I do like to try." Aeron towered over him, and Erik just slumped to make it more obvious. He knew he was lacking in certain drug dealer-esque qualities. It wasn't like he was actively trying to fix that problem, though. Then again it wasn't something he was trying to fix.
Erik nodded, taking a sip of his tea. "That it is." He rested his chin on his palm, looking over at Aeron. "But it was a good book. What are you doing here, Aeron?" Pouting, Erik tried his best to look offended when Aeron made fun of him considering himself normal. "I'm perfectly normal, thank you. You're far from normal."

know the measure of a pack, it's not a question of the whole | He'd wanted to get out of the house, but just for a bit. Running into Erik had been just a bonus, he supposed. "Maybe," he said, with a wry smile, "I wanted to leave my apartment before I finally dropped dead." and just like before, it didn't come out sounding how he'd meant it.
He still sat so he perched over Erik, and looked at him. Erik always had this habit of... Pulling him out of his head, Aeron didn't know how to put it into words. It was curling beneath warm water, but being able to breathe. Wouldn't that be nice, he thought. To feel like you were drowning, and in the end live. Maybe it'd bring some appreciation, maybe.
"I've never said I was." That was the part of it, he thought, the untouchable bit. Or rather not a part, he wouldn't admit, but the whole that he was. Probably better not to think about it, how maybe your problems didn't make you that invincible creature your mother once convinced you that she was. Just like her, you'd cry, and you'd lose.

Erik shrugged. "Don't we all." Small talk was one of the few things he could do - but not for a long time. At some point he'd run out of things to dwell on, and it would be that point where he would excuse himself. Erik frowned, as if he had just thought of something that slightly disturbed him, squinting up at Aeron.
"Stop bragging about being taller than me." He almost pouted. "You're practically towering over me, stop it." But as he was speaking, the frown on his face broke into a grin - and he was laughing a little. More to himself, really. It was kind of ironic, how he was the drug dealer, and yet he looked anything but like it. Maybe that was why he never really got caught. Because people would be looking for this big, bulky guy who stayed away from normal social interaction. That was what a druggie looked like, right?
Probably.
Shaking his head, Erik held up his hand. "In order to say that, you need to tell me what normal is." Fixing Aeron with a look, he continued on. "I know I'm not normal - man if I were normal, the entire world would be fucked. But, then comes the question of what normal is. Is the waitress who gave me my tea normal? Probably not. What about the lady who sold me this book?" Relaxing back in his seat, Erik kind of shrugged.
"Normal doesn't really exist, in my opinion. We're all a little fucked up." CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE

know the measure of a pack, it's not a question of the whole | Aeron kept his eyes on Erik, maintaining his posture as he did so. With a snort, he couldn't help but smirk as he replied to Erik. "You don't seem to mind me towering over you when you're in my bed, in fact, you seem to quite enjoy it." he said, quiet enough to not be overheard by a nearby waitress but loud enough to hopefully fluster Erik. You would think flustering him was difficult, and at times it was. But that didn't stop Aeron from doing it anyway.
He took another sip of his drink and sunk a little in his chair. Normal was all opinion, of course, but then there was the societal notion. Aeron didn't say anything about that, though. In truth, his existence wasn't a societal norm in any sense... Except maybe his job, the apartment. Everything else was queer at best. Hah, he thought.
"Only a little?" he questioned. His blinks began to last seconds at this point. People always asked him why he did this to himself, as if it was a choice. It's back to the normal thing again, it's all on you. Everything that is wrong you can fix, everything that's wrong is your fault. But... That only applies to when what's wrong is in your head.

Well, he couldn't say that he was expecting that. Then again, he wasn't entirely sure what he would have expected out of Aeron at that point. It wasn't like he was going to suddenly just shrink down on his accord, that was for sure. Though, he did try to cover the unfortunate pink dusting of his face by taking a drink of the tea that he had nearly forgotten about.
Rolling his eyes, Erik set the glass down to fix Aeron with a look. "Only a little." Then, as if dismissing the thought completely, Erik waved the waitress over to get his check.
"Unfortunately for you, I have a date to meet up with in a few hours." Flashing Aeron a grin, he pulled out his wallet to lay down enough to cover both of their bills. "I'll see you later?"

Unfortunately. Hah, as always. "Unfortunately." he said tiredly, not even bothering to give Erik a look back at this point. He did appreciate Erik covering the bill, however, though he wouldn't say so. It would be a lie to deny that he had been thrilled to run into Erik for the sole reason, the thought of a non-empty bed.
Life doesn't always give you what you want. Even these simple little joys, it would seem to Aeron. He'd be back home to Marlene, and wait. Wait for work, wait for anything. With a half-assed smile, he stood up from his chair, leaving his drink partially unfinished.
The door closed behind him, and he was gone without another word. It was as if he hadn't been there at all.
