AND I SAID HELLO, HELLO IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD NIGHT TO GET SHITFACED. So he called up Nathan, the only person he knew who could give as good as he could. He was fully stocked for the occasion- vodka, tequila, rum and even some bottles of whiskey lined the alcohol cabinet in his suite kitchen. He pretty much lived in a hotel room- a small one, but it was grand to him. He didn't know when exactly the blonde was going to show up, so he'd already started in on things. Three vodka shots, chased with a pink-lemonade cooler had already gone happily down his throat. He'd already prepped some for Nathan like a good host.
He didn't have company over a lot. He didn't like explaining why he lived by himself in an inn on Main but Nathan wasn't the type to ask weird questions like that. They needed somewhere to drink and Ezra had offered and that was that. Or at least he hoped that was it- it wasn't as if Nathan had been here before. Ezra had cleaned up a little bit before calling him over. The bed was made in the sense that his blankets were actually on it and the table was no longer sticky from spilled drinks. He'd even taken his clothes off the couch and put them in the basket. Not many people had seen his place, so he didn't want to look like a slob upon first inspection.
They usually went to parties together and ended up drinking most of the alcohol, continuing through the night after most people had given up or puked all over the toilet and they'd been friends since their first party in freshman year. But Ezra couldn't say they'd been alone all that often. He was trying not to be weird about it, so he had another shot to sooth his nerves. It was a better idea than trying to clean.

Nathan grit his teeth, shifting through halls trying to shake the uncomfortable feeling that force itself upon you when you needed to talk to someone about something you weren't that sure of yourself. He eventually managed to get Erza's room number though - why the fuck he was in an inn Nathan didn't even want to try and ask - but eventually, he got to the right door, knocking it with a polite tatata and then kicking it with his shoe. Because why not.
"YO ERZA, YOU HERE MATE?"

AND I SAID HELLO, HELLO WHEN HE HEARD THE KNOCK HE JUMPED. He was nervous as hell and he didn't know why. It felt like butterflies, if the butterflies were trying to eat the lining of his stomach or something. Whatever. It was goddamn uncomfortable. He scrambled to the door and managed to trip over himself on the way. The resulting thud rattled his shot glasses and made him thoroughly mortified. As if things hadn't been rocky enough already.
He climbed to his feet and opened the door to greet Nathan. "Of course I'm here, where else would I be?" He blurted out, hoping against hope that Nathan hadn't heard him trip. Yeah, right. People on the next floor could have heard that. "Come in. I already poured some Smirnoff." He invited, but in his head all he heard was "Awkward awkward awkward awkward awkward."

"Man, you had me worried mate, thought you were banging some girl in 'ere and you weren't telling me!" Nathan shrugged, walking in like he owned the place. He threw his jacket in one corner and laughed at Erza for an imagined scene of him falling on the floor.
"Well cool man, let's get started." He immediately hovered to the table with the shot glasses and already got his fingers on one, with himself sitting by the table.

AND I SAID HELLO, HELLO LIKE GIRLS WERE LINING UP TO SLEEP WITH HIM. He laughed at the suggestion. "As if. I'm not you, man." That casual confidence and effortless cool Nathan possessed, Ezra had none of it. He blushed and got tongue-tied around girls he actually liked. He tried too hard. Nathan didn't seem to try it all. He was nearly jealous, but it wasn't as if the guy had stolen any of his crushes. It was instead just a mild pang of inferiority.
The guy wasted no time. Ezra was glad he'd set up. "Hope you don't mind that I started without you." He laughed, taking a seat on a stool at the other side of the table. He grabbed a shot glass and cheered "To drinking on a Sunday." Before bottoming the alcohol down his throat. Smooth. Pleasant. Familiar. That was what drinking felt like. He didn't touch the cooler. He'd save it for when he needed to keep his gag reflex in check.

"Aha, see, the universe wants to be me!" He laughed, wiping his lips with his sleeve and immediately going for another one, after he waved his glass a little at Ezra. Toasts were never his thing, but he could find it in his heart to humour the weirdo a little.
"Nah man, I'd 'ave nothing it if 'as me..." He slurred his words a little already, feeling the buzz kick in as he got onto his fourth and the familiar haze on his sight blurred out the edges of things. "Sup man?" He asked, waving his hand carelessly and knocking over a glass, but in fact was wanting to rub the other guy's hair.
