| | | i'm dead in the water still looking for you i'm dead in the water can't you see? can't you see? | Why had she come here again? Hazel was sure she had a reason to, but once she found herself in the club, she couldn’t quite remember it. She wasn’t quite sure what she was expecting, but apparently it wasn’t this, since she found herself probably more uncomfortable and awkward than she had ever been in her life. If she had come here to watch the dancers she was failing spectacularly at that, since her eyes had found themselves practically glued to the floor almost as soon as she walked in. To be fair, most of her discomfort was just from the thought of someone recognizing her. It probably wasn’t good for her reputation if say, one of her coworkers happened to be here as well, or worse yet, the parents of one of her kids. She had tried to “disguise” herself a little, pulling her long blonde hair into a knitted cap so only her bangs and a few stray strands fell out around her face, as well as wearing some clothes that, for one reason or another, she didn’t often wear. Still, she couldn’t help feel like standing there awkwardly was just drawing even more unwanted attention to herself. Taking a quick glance around the area, she laid her eyes on the bar and made her way over there. She didn’t really plan on drinking a whole lot, but maybe a little bit would help her relax some, and it was better than standing around looking like she was completely lost anyway. PHOENIX AMBROSE |

She didn't get that many woman in the club. Just the wives dragged out by their husbands, or the unlucky woman who were friends with men. But when she saw the clearly uncomfortable blonde standing at the mouth of her club, Phoenix was intrigued. Normally, people who were like that ended up wanting to work there. the shy ones always gave the best shows. She smirked slightly. She could think of maybe two other reasons. One, she was some pissed off girlfriend, and two, she'd wandered into the wrong part of town. She was still thinking of possible explanations when the woman was suddenly in front of her.
Phoenix blinked slowly, finishing with the drink she had been making for a customer, cashing him out, then turning towards the woman. "Welcome to Ambrose, names the same as the club. Most just call me Ami, though. How can I help you?" She asked with a smile. It didn't take long to distract her, though, as the floater returned, dropping the tips into jar, then handing her the list of drinks. Nix went to work quickly, giving her the tray before she turned back to the blonde, eyes looking her up and down. Phoenix was dressed in her usual attire. A pair of black shorts and one of her many corsets. Her uncle always seemed to come back with more. Not in the perverted way, but simply because he spoiled with niece to pieces.
She pushed that thought aside, returning her attention to the blonde. "You aren't some girlfriend who's out for revenge, right? 'Cause i'll kick you out of my club right now" The teen commented, narrowing her eyes down. @hazel

| | | i'm dead in the water still looking for you i'm dead in the water can't you see? can't you see? | Hazel hadn’t expected someone to talk to her, and she nearly jumped out of her skin when the dark haired girl did. It took a moment for her to recover, though she wasn’t sure what to say Before she could think of anything, the girl had gotten distracted by something else, and left her there stumbling over her words. The blonde sighed, wondering if she should just try to slip out quietly before she embarrassed herself further. When she finally came back, Hazel couldn’t help but notice how she glanced her up and down. She probably looked strange and completely out of place, which caused Hazel to bite her lip a little. This definitely had been a bad idea. Before she could even move to leave, the girl spoke again. “What?” she said, a little surprised. “Oh, n-no, I’m not. “Actually, um…” Her blue eyes flicked back to the dancers onstage again. Ah. Phoenix knew that look. The one that envied the dancers on stage. A smirked crossed her features. The purplette leaned over the counter, standing on her tip toes so she was closer to the woman. "Don't be shy. We're having auditions tonight, after-hours" She said with a wink. It wasn't every day, but one of the strippers had gotten pregnant, which while wasn't good on business, was also excellent to see how their family was growing. Already, Phoenix was dubbed the godmother, which was fine with her. She loved having babies around.
"First, what's your name? So my brain quits calling you, "Chick in the hat"" Phoenix asked with a chuckle, cocking a hip out as she leaned her hand against it. One of the men at the bar moved to pinch her on the side, but without looking, the dark-haired girl smacked his hand away, turning to narrow her eyes at him. "Excuse me, I'm not a drink, or one of the girls. i'm the owner, so I suggest you stop" She said, voice sharp like a knife.
And just like that, she was turning back to the blonde, a smile on her face. @hazel

| | | i'm dead in the water still looking for you i'm dead in the water can't you see? can't you see? | Hazel looked up, surprised at what the dark-haired girl said. Had she really seen through the blonde girl so easily like that? A blush crept across her cheeks, and she glanced down, fidgeting a little. “Oh, n-no, I couldn’t…,” the girl began, trying to think of an excuse that didn’t sound too, well, lame. She didn’t wan’t to admit the thought of people watching her dance terrified her, though she really did envy the girls onstage. How could they be so confident when they knew everyone’s eyes were on their scantily clad selves? “I’m not sure if I could do it,” Hazel said with a small sigh. That was true, though she didn’t really elaborate on why exactly. She glanced up when her name was asked for. “Oh, um, it’s Hazel.” Truthfully, even though she was younger than her, the girl intimidated Hazel a little. PHOENIX AMBROSE |

Phoenix could see the nerves rolling off the woman, but she just smiled. It wasn't hard to see how much the woman was conflicted on if she could get up and dance. "Sure you could. It's easily, really. I don't dance up there because no one knows my bar like I do" She said with a chuckle. Phoenix, having grown up in the club, was someone that had seen all the girls come through. Some had been so shy she thought they'd never make it on the stage, but give them the lack of clothing, and their like another person. And then there's the outgoing girls that choke when they get on stage. Phoenix had seen every girl between them as well, and knew when a new dancer was making an appearance.
"I'm sure you could. It's really easy, sure better than dancing in the shower, you get paid for this" Nix said as she grabbed a glass from the hangers behind her, then poured a shot for the woman, sliding the glass across the the counter towards her. "First one's on the house, but that's also to loosen you up a bit. You look too tense, hon" The teen explained. She was wise beyond her years, and sadly, it made her seem older than her eighteen years. She let out a breath, moving to attend another customer, watching the blonde out of the corner of her eye.

| | | i'm dead in the water still looking for you i'm dead in the water can't you see? can't you see? | "But, I already have a job...," the blonde woman began quietly, but her objections quickly died on her lips. She was a teacher, there was no way she could do something like this! Before she could say anything else, the girl had poured her a shot and went off to take care of some of her other customers. Hazel bit her lower lip gently, looking down at the liquid in the glass that she held gingerly between her fingers. Her blue eyes glanced back over to the stage, and for a moment she pictured herself on it. She could dance, a fact very, very few people knew. She'd often dance alone in her room in front of her mirror, trying to imitate the kind of moves she had seen the dancers perform. Hazel enjoyed it immensely, but there was no way she could ever admit that kind of thing to people. What would they think if they knew? Glancing down at her drink, she let out a small sigh before tipping her head back a little and downing the shot, making a bit of a face after she had swallowed it. It burned a little as it slid down her throat and into her stomach, and tasted awful, but it would help calm her nerves a little at least. PHOENIX AMBROSE |

Phoenix smirked slightly at the woman, hearing her comment. Of course she had another job. Most of the girls had other jobs. They all went by stage names, and sometimes wore masks if they so chose. But most people that worked the stage didn't care if their co-workers knew. Except the teachers. She had a few teachers in the back, getting ready for the late-night set, they were the woman that normally wore the masks. Finishing up with her customer, the purplette moved back to the blue-eyed woman, hip cocking to the side and hand laying on her hip.
Nix laughed as she watched the facial expression after the woman took her shot. "And that's not even the strong stuff" She said with a laugh. While she normally didm't drink at all, she did know her alcohol, and which had the stronger affects. Phoenix leaned against the bar, looking her up and down. "We have a closed-house practice every other night, and tonight's one of those nights if you want to stick around till the end of the night?" She questioned. She was rather eager to see some new skin on stage. She loved all her girls, some new skin was always good.
"By the way, what can I call you? Instead of chick with the blue eyes, or something like that?" The short teen said with a laugh. It always amused her how relaxed she could be compared to woman years older than her, especially in a bar scene.

| | | i'm dead in the water still looking for you i'm dead in the water can't you see? can't you see? | Hazel couldn't help but blush a little in embarrassment. She barely drank, only really doing so whenever she was dragged out by some of her friends, though that was still rare due to her usual busy schedule. Because of that, she was a bit of a lightweight when it came to alcohol, and didn't really enjoy drinking anything that wasn't fruity. The bartender brought up auditions again, and Hazel looked down at her now-empty glass, conflicted. Really, she should just politely decline the offer and get up to leave, but something kept her from doing that. She was silently reminding herself of her job and how bad it would be for her if someone found out she was moonlighting as a dancer, but that wasn't really reaching her. Hazel cast one last glance over at the dancers. Well, an audition wouldn't really hurt, right? She was a little bit curious if she would even be accepted at all, so at least she'd know then. She didn't really have to take the job. The blonde looked up when she was asked for her name. "Oh, you can call me Hazel," she replied. "And, um...I guess I can give it a try..." PHOENIX AMBROSE |
