He had heard only minor details about the accident from the blonde. The nurses filled in the rest. Whoever the red haired racer Kieran was, he would pay for endangering Angel’s life. But it could wait until Angel had recovered. He still didn’t know the man’s face. Angel refused to say much more about it too.
Nevada slipped out of the hospital room where Angel had inhabited since the accident. He had just finished visiting him. When he stepped into the hall and close the door behind him, he nearly ran into the red haired man who was making his way into Angel’s room. “Who are you? How do you know Angel?”

Kieran didn't know why he kept going to see Angel, other than the fact that he was basically becoming the blonde's errand boy. Today was no different; he knew that Angel didn't really want him around, but he had something to deliver, and it seemed important. At least he'd been made to think it was important. Walking into the hospital for the umpteenth time since he'd been discharged he walked the familiar trek to Angel's room, but something was different today. Instead of just going in, handing the stuff off and waiting awkwardly until he was dismissed, he nearly ran into someone. Damn, when had Kieran gotten so whipped? A man was exiting Angel's room, and though he didn't know who the other was, he had a damn good idea of who it probably was. "Oh, uhhh," he stammered, trying to stall. If this guy was who he thought he was, he probably knew all about what happened. "My name's...Kieran." NEVADA RAINES

The name rang a bell. He looked over the redhead with a glint of contempt in hi dark eyes. “You are the racer who nearly killed Angel and destroyed my car.” It couldn’t be anyone else. Well, it could. Angel knew many people but no one else visited him in the hospital besides Nevada. This man couldn’t be anyone but that racer. His reaction only assured him that he was right.
“You have a court date soon.” Nevada recalled. “Angel is required to be present.” His voice had a sort of subzero chill to it, low and sharp like tiny daggers stabbed out with every word. He had done his research. He knew what was waiting for Angel when he left the hospital, what was awaiting this Kieran fellow too. “Do you intend to bring Angel into more trouble after nearly killing him?”

Shit. His suspicions had been right. Kieran felt a sinking in the pit of his stomach and a wave of nausea washed over him, feeling quite a bit nervous now. Just look how far he'd come. Just weeks ago he'd been confident, on top of the world - nothing could knock him down. Well, apparently something could, and now that it had he was crumbling. "Um, yeah, that would be me I guess," he said, unable to completely cut the smartass out of himself right now, even if the phrase was said in a guilty and sheepish tone. What else could he say, really? This guy knew who he was an what he did and it would be pretty impossible to cook up some reason as to why he wasn't that Kieran. How many Kieran's were realistically on this island anyway? A court date. Double shit. Somehow he knew this was happening but he wasn't really prepared for it. While he definitely had enough money to hire a lawyer, it's not like it would be very easy to get him off the hook. And it's not like Kieran wasn't going to pay for what he did...he just wasn't too keen about spending all that time in jail. "Of course I don't!" he exclaimed a little too emphatically. "I didn't even want to hurt anyone in the first place." While he knew he wasn't the only one at fault in this whole thing, Kieran didn't even bother bring it up. No one listened anyways. Nevada had never been particularly gifted in reading other people. He could merely glimpse what was obvious on the surface, never what may have been beneath. He couldn't tell what Kieran was thinking, or if what emotions he could discern were sincere. It didn't much matter either. "Angel will not be dragged into your mess, do you understand?"
Nevada fished a card from his pocket. "I will not be pressing charges for the vehicle you stole. The rest of the charges will be dealt with by the man named on this card. I will pay for it, of course. I doubt you could afford him otherwise." He shoved the card towards him. "Must I repeat myself or did you understand?"

Kieran was about ready to go on, especially about how he didn't steal the car, Angel kind of did since he gave him the keys, but the redhead supposed it wouldn't matter much. This guy didn't seem like he was going to listen to what he had to say for anything; he seemed stubborn, set in his ways. But then he handed him the business card and explained that he'd pay for the legal fees. Reading the card he saw it was that of an attorney, and Kieran was confused. He had basically ruined this man's property and nearly killed his boyfriend and now he was going to pay for him to get a lawyer? Though he was being rather presumptuous about Kieran's ability to pay for the lawyer (he had a good chunk of money in the bank, after all) he wasn't about to turn this down. "Right," he stammered, unsure of what to say exactly. Thank you? Thanks for helping me out, thanks for not breaking my neck on the spot? "I understand." Even though he didn't quite understand all the way. NEVADA RAINES
