Acheron was never someone to deal with family, especially cousins. Apparently, his mother's nephew was in town, which meant that Acheron had to act like the perfect older cousin. Though, he was far from perfect. He told his flatmates that he would be out of town for the weekend, which meant he was spending time at the manor on the beach, off the coast of nova's north. And Orion was due at any moment. Acheron's mother poked his head into his room, glancing around the bedroom before spotting her son sitting on the balcony. "Ash, honey. Your cousin will be here soon. Why don't you clean up and come downstairs?" The woman asked. She had the same blue-ish hair that her son had, though her eyes were more of a gray than the ocean blue that her son had.
Acheron nodded his head towards his mother, and without a word, got his things together and just inside his room, then set to watching his hands. They were still covered in paint and charcoal, but they were cleaner than they were before. The university student moved out of his room, bringing with him one of the cats he had saved, and brought home from his flat with his friends. At least, this was the only one his parents knew about so far. As he made his way down the stairs, his eyes spotted the gray hair of his cousin in the foyer. "Aren't you early, Orion?" He questioned, putting down the cat he held in his hands.

It wasn't often that Orion got to spend time in North Nova. It was so intimidating, up on the hill overlooking the entire town, like watchdogs or eagles waiting to strike. The kids at school from North Nova always seemed to be so stuck up, too. Honestly, he preferred kids who lived in his neighborhood in the west.
But it was different that he was going to visit family. Apparently, his cousin Acheron was at his mother's (Orion's aunt's) house for the weekend, and his aunt and mother had organized them to meet up. Ever since Ash went to university, he hadn't seen much of his cousin. They were close enough when they were younger, like all cousins are, but as time moved on the grew older and grew apart.
So he made the trek up to the hill, through the gate and up to the right address. Parking his bicycle outside of the large house he straightened up a bit before he knocked on the door, being let in by his aunt with hugs and smiles. Just as he stepped into the foyer and was taking off his shoes, he heard a familiar voice from above.
"Well hello to you too, 'cuz," he said, almost a little sarcastically but mostly in innocent jest. "Maybe a little bit, I guess...but it's kind of warm out there, and I didn't want to wait outside for too long."
Slipping off his shoes completely and setting them aside he walked deeper into the house, smiling at the cat that was between his cousin's arms. "So how are you, Ash? And who's your friend?"

Acheron sighed softly, his mother eyeing him to be nice. He waved her off, then motioned for his cousin to follow him. The cat followed after him, trotting at his new master's feet. Their house was turning into a cat-filled home, which was okay with Acheron. But his father was surely suffering. Of course, his mother had grown attached to some of the cats. They now followed her around like this one was following him. He glanced down at the cat as Orion asked about him. "He hasn't gotten a name yet. I'm still waiting for him to tell me his name" The bluette explained to his cousin. It sounded crazy, yes, but it made sense to him.
"So, what brings you all the way to my lovely home? And why did my mother drag me home from my flat? I could have just met you there" Though, he was sure of the answer. His mom was overly protective of his little secret, and hated for anyone to find out about it. And since Orion knew about his artist life, well, that meant he was a liability. "Or perhaps mom wanted you to come over so you could give me advice on my latest projects?" The young artist said, leading his cousin into the sitting room.

Orion just simply nodded at Ash's response to what the cat's name was. It was a little strange, but artists were supposed to be eccentric, right? His cousin was certainly starting to fit the bill. Not that it was a bad thing. Besides, cats were pretty cute, so when they entered the other room and the cat rubbed up against his legs, he didn't mind all that much.
"I dunno, your mom invited me," Orion shrugged. "But that sounds like a reasonable deduction."
He was definitely okay giving Ash his opinion on his pieces, but he never really claimed to be an art expert. Most of the time he needed Ash's explanation first before he could really get the piece and that was a luxury most art viewers never got. The painting just became a canvas on a museum wall, the placard listing the name, the artist's name and the materials, but nothing as to the feelings and emotions behind the art.
"So what are you working on right now?" he asked, glancing around the room until his eyes landed back on Ash. It was actually really cool, in his eyes, that his cousin was a famous artist, but he knew he had to keep it under wraps. The secret was definitely safe with Orion, but it was also nice to be able to speak freely about it in the confines of the house.

Acheron had always had an odd way of going about animals. All the animals he'd ever had, had chosen their own names, in a sense. His eyes turned towards the cat as he rubbed against his cousin's leg. A smirk crossed over his features before he shook his head, turning his attention to the artwork that was displayed. They were new pieces that his mom hadn't sent into anyone yet. He let out a sigh. Sometimes, he felt like his parents just wanted him to paint and draw for their own amusement. Or rather, their own profit. But, what could he do? They were his parents. It was't like he was going to shut them out.
"I got those two finished," He pointed towards the two on the wall, one being a painted ocean scene, while the other drawn-with-charcoal of one of the many alleys on the island. He shrugged slightly as he opened up his sketch book. "And I guess she wants me to get other ideas from people? Sadly, I can only ask family, and my parents have over-used their ideas into my head" The bluette said as he yawned. The cat hopped up onto his lap, nudging his hand that was holding the book. He shook his head as he patted the cat's head, turning his attention towards Orion once more.

He listened as Acheron explained what was going on, and nodded intermittently as his cousin spoke. He really did like his cousin's work but Orion wasn't cut out for art. Orion honestly didn't even know what he was cut out for, but he knew it wasn't anything as creative as this.
"The look really good," he complimented, and he meant it. It wasn't like when your friend shows you their drawing they did on a scrap piece of paper in class, and you say you like it just to be a nice friend. Acheron, obviously, had a lot of talent.
Acheron explained that he needed more ideas, and Orion suddenly got worried. This was his time to shine, to suggest anything in the world. But he didn't know. His cousin looked expectant, but kept petting the cat that was brushing up against his arm.
"Why don't you paint your little friend there?" he shrugged, unsure if Acheron even liked to paint cats...at least it was an idea.

Unfortunately, Acheron hadn't much of a choice when it came to being an artist. He respected his parents too much to let them down because this wasn't his life choice. It also meant he couldn't tell his friends about this life either, or they'd figure out that the six hundred dollar flat was more like sixteen hundred dollars for them to all stay there, along with the stray cats, and while they cover half the rent, Ash covers everything else. The only person he could really tell was his cousin, simply because his cousin had grown up knowing about him.
The bluette shrugged his shoulders. "At least they'll get sold and fund my mother's trip to Greece. She's visiting our grandmother, I guess." He commented. He grabbed the leather folder, slipping the painting and drawing carefully into the folder, then sealing it up and placing it on the table. The cat was following him around, vying for his attention. He eventually reached down, scratching his head. His eyes moved back towards his cousin, then down to the feline wrapping around his feet.
"I suppose I could add him into the drawings, though he needs a name" An uncharacteristic smirk crossed over his features after a moment. "Achilles? Huh, you look like an Achilles. You got one white ankle, like the myth goes" Not that that was true, but it was close enough. He wasn't the best painting them, but a sketch or two could work for his manager. "Alright, Orion, you're gonna be in on this, too. Go ahead and grab Achilles and get comfortable" He said, moving to grab his sketchbook.

Orion smiled as Acheron looked at the cat and dubbed him Achilles. It was a good cat name, he decided, and the fact that the cat had a spot on his heel made it that much more fitting. Of course the old myths weren't real, but they were certainly fun to listen to and if it weren't for them, Achilles the cat might have never gotten a real name.
When Acheron told him to pick up the cat and get comfortable, however, he panicked a little on the inside. Did his cousin seriously want to paint him? There was nothing special about him, nothing terribly artistic that begged to be painted or drawn or otherwise recorded in some artistic medium.
"You wanna paint me?!" he cried out, surprised and just generally apprehensive. While he loafed around a little, eventually gave in and scooped the soft cat up into his arms before sitting down in a nearby chair. Well, he was comfortable enough until Achilles decided he'd had enough.
"Fine, fine...I'm ready, I guess."
