[attr="class","mainer"]HOMER D. VALENTINE TWENTY-NINE, PSYCHOLOGIST
[attr="class","blabber"] Are you in desperate need of someone to talk to? Have any deep-seated issues, anxieties or temptations you’d like to discuss or otherwise deal with? Want to gab about the weather? Well, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s licensed and professional psychologist, Homer would be at the bottom of anyone’s list of ideal conversationalist. If you’re not one of his patients (which seem to be the only people he can act unbiasedly towards) he’s judging you, and holding you to his own ridiculously high standards. He’s a perfectionist who’s very aware of just how ridiculous his standards are, as he went about diagnosing himself with OCPD some time ago. Obviously this means that Homer is a bit of an obsessive when it comes to nearly everything he does. He’s hyper diligent, focused and detail-oriented, but often to a fault. The few close relationships he has are held hostage by his difficult-to-manage obsessions, which is one of the few things in this world that truly upsets him. His attention as of late has been on the rumors he’s heard of ambrosia, and he’s become dedicated to finding out all he can about the it. He doesn’t have much to go on besides whispers, but if, in fact, he can get his hands on this fairy-tale of of a fruit, he’ll be able to save someone very close to him. At least, that’s what he’d tell anyone if they asked him why he was so intent on finding it. His secondary (and tertiary) reasons are more selfish. | [attr="class","mainer"]NAME MCNAME AGE, OCCUPATION

okay i'm just gonna put all my characters here and you can just reply to the ones you like the most?
angel & homer okay so angel is very opposite - irresponsible, careless, messy and rowdy. despite all his issues i can't see him seeing a psychologist but as a man (or woman if you like) of the night he does like richer, older men. and i assume homer wouldn't have much interest in angel, unlesssss maybe he lets something slip? angel's bff actually got a taste of ambrosia, and he's had a brush with the gods himself, so that might intrigue homer? though he'd probably get frustrated trying to get anything out of angel only to realize that he really doesn't know what he's talking about and is pretty much useless lol.
jamie & homer yes this kid needs a shrink. he suffers from insomnia and chronic sleep deprivation, has crazy hallucinations that really mess with him. not to mention that he gets bullied a lot at school and home and idk jamie has a lot of issues. buuuut he's in the mafia so he'd probably be very private and very hesitant to talk to anyone about it.
isobel & homer while she's not ocd, isobel is pretty similar to him in some ways - she's a perfectionist too. she doesn't really make friends easily because she is so serious all the damn time. i'm not sure how they would actually meet, but i think they'd get on pretty well if they ever did. isobel is younger than him but pretty mature? idk
raul & homer hmm um. i'm not really sure. raul's a cop, so maybe they could meet through their jobs, but they would definitely clash. raul is very lazy and doesn't give a shit about anything, he likes to piss people off and with someone like homer he would find and push all his buttons, really get on his nerves and take advantage of his neurosis.
aster & homer i don't really know... um i don't think they'd get along all that well, does he do one night stands or something lmfao because i guess that could be a thing. i mean aster has issues but she doesn't like to admit it. maybe he can get it out of her somehow, her deep seated insecurities bc her mom never 'wanted her' and stuff
minzhe & homer laughs ok this guy definitely needs a psychologist but he would never ever go to one. maybe homer could be interested in him because he is an... interesting case? he's very anxious, unstable, sadistic, but he's also a criminal and a genuis and he doesn't like people so actually getting them to meet might be hard but yeah
gracie & homer yeah gracie is very into the environment she's not very developed but i guess if you ever want someone to shout at him about the environment and how he needs to do his part to save it she's here...

Now you can pick the ones you like~
Homer & Angel Richer? Check. Older? Check. No interest? Sadly, check. BUT, if for some reason angel did let whatever he thought he knew about ambrosia slip, Homer would straight up interrogate the kid. Otherwise though, he wouldn't have any interest in Angel's personal life or drama, but, that being said, if they had a long enough conversation, Homer would probably sigh after realizing Angel didn't know what he was talking about, and just slip him his business card if he ever wanted to see a professional about anything.
Homer & Jamie Ooooh, Jamie would make an intriguing patient. His whole 'being a mafia heir' wouldn't faze Homer in the slightest believe it or not. Maybe his parents bring him into Homer's office, or Jamie seeks Homer out himself? Whatever the case, I think it'd be interesting if these two met.
Homer & Isobel Well they're both from aristocratic, European families, so that's something. In that case, perhaps he would have heard her name here and there from his parents or something. Or, if she's ever had any art showings, or if she's sold any of her stuff, maybe Homer bought/commented on it in her presence. If you really think they'd get along, I'm totally willing to try this. Homer could use a friend, even if they're as no-nonsense as Isobel
Homer & Raul CLASH. I read his profile and this could potentially be an entertaining rivalry. Homer would think of Raul as one of the most pathetic people ever, and of course, he wouldn't like him. But that's fine, because it's obvious Raul wouldn't like Homer either. Raul is too friggin lazy and sleazy for Homer's taste, and Homer is too friggin' anal for Raul's it seems. And they definitely could meet through their jobs. Like maybe some of the police force has to take some psychological evaluations and Raul just happens to be one of those people. I don't know how the meeting would work xD, but I'd definitely like for these two to meet.
Homer & Aster Well now that you mention it he does do the occasional one night stand when it suits him. He's very matter-of-fact about it though. Like, 'Hit it and quit it quick'. lol, I don't know how that would happen though. Maybe she flirts with him, or if that's not like her, he hits on her in his own uh, unique way. That'd be interesting to see.
Also he probably would be interested in poking her brain about her insecurities and her mom, but also in a matter-of-fact way. Like, "If you wanna talk about it, we'll make an appointment." Does that sound cold? He might sound cold sometimes. But he's a sweetheart. Swear.

angel & homer angel would probably be like 'hey mister you know my time is money' and then try to get homer to pay to talk to him and then just end up pissing him off because he really... doesn't know much. would just go off on a tangent about something totally unrelated and waste homer's time yeah!
jamie & homer i don't think he'd seek homer out himself, he lives with his uncle rn so maybe his uncle decides to send jamie because poor kid never gets any sleep maybe he should get that looked into. he's sort of paranoid and would be all why does this guy want to know about my hallucinations and stuff omg. but yeah this we'd have to thread out and see how they interact!
isobel & homer yeah, i think they're similar, would enjoy each other's company, etc. have stimulating intellectual conversation and classy dates. but yeah they could have heard about each other before bc it's a small world! also i guess you'd have to consult boo about this, but she plays isobel's brother who is totally off his rocker and maybe isobel gets a burst of sisterly concern and refers him or something?
raul & homer yeah i was figuring something like that, most likely. because they definitely wouldn't interact unless they were forced to. but i have nothing to add really, wonderful hateship rivalry aw yiss.
aster & homer yeah aster is pretty much the same - it's not a regular thing for her, but it happens. she would go out and flirt with a cute guy bc why not. though homer's flirting sounds very interesting lmfao but hey they can both just flirt it up and the uh sex it up yes.
and i can definitely see her brushing it off like 'i do not have issues huff' but then not being able to get it off her mind and eventually caving and be like 'ok I'M HERE TO PROVE THAT I DONT HAVE ISSUES' but then realizing she does. laughs development yes
OH YES if you want a thread, i have jamie, isobel and aster free atm

ALL THIS SOUND COOL~
Since Aster is free (and their plot is the one mostly on my mind), we can start a thread for the two of them, and if that goes well, start some more between Homer and the rest of the crew.
Sound good? And, shall I start it, or do you want to?

OKAY SO.... Miles and Homer.
IF YOU...manage to take a look at my plotter, you'll see how fucking mental Miles actually is. Uh... He obsesses over people, once he's found something about you he won't let you out of his life, he stalks people, he goes to crazy lengths to express his affection, he doesn't understand normal social cues or personal boundaries, he's possessive...He gets jealous really easy, he's manipulative and all the while he's fairly certain that everything he does is A-OK and feels no guilt for any of it.
So. What do you think in terms of plots? :>

Homer & Miles Well it's obvious that Miles needs to see someone about his behavior and if you were to ask Homer, that someone would be the best psychologist in Nova Athenis. Which Homer thinks he is, so, it looks like these two might have an appointment soon.
At first I was thinking that Homer would consider Miles a sociopath, but he might not quite fit such a drastic description, he just has some serious boundary and entitlement issues. Would Miles seek out a psychologist own his own? Because I doubt Homer would care about speaking to him otherwise. They are, however, both from fairly rich families. Maybe Homer would have heard Miles' name here and there. Or maybe they met a one of the few parties Homer ever goes to. What do you think?

Mmm.... no, he wouldn't go to him of his own accord. Miles thinks he's perfectly fine with no abnormalities, SO... I was thinking perhaps Miles' personal butler would suggest it (since the butler is like, the person who takes care of him most of the time, more so than Miles' own parents) or Homer could have heard about Miles from other people via party or something. I can see Miles being "that strange son" people talk about. Miles goes to those parties, too. So he could always run into him there, as well.

Homer & Miles That sounds good to me. Miles’ butler can tell Homer more about the “strange son” that he’s heard about at the few parties he’s gone too, an the two of them can begin their sessions immediately.
So, sir/madame, shall you start this thread, or shall I?~

@toasty + mo yun so mo yun recently had a nervous break-down after being confronted by creation and the opportunity to taste ambrosia. she gave it up though, and she's totally freaked out about the things she has seen. i think it would be cool if she went to go see your psychologist wilst hiding the fact she is a thief. afraid that she'll actually be crazy. and she'll probably mix a lot of lies with the truth because she has trust issues.

Yo guys, sorry about the super late response.
Homer & Miles: Please start it, thanks. I'm busy these days, but I can definitely make more of an effort to be here.
Homer & Mo yun: Homer is always open to having another patient sit on his couch, especially if that patient came as close to ambrosia as she did. I think this would be interesting because he'd be somewhat conflicted between genuinely trying to help her, and trying to get information about ambrosia out of her (if she tells him about it that is). Also, since she's a thief, I imagine she'd be good at lying, but since she's obviously in some emotional distress, I'm guessing Homer would be able to see through her just a little bit. I don't know if you'd want her to reveal that she's a thief eventually, but unless she stole from Homer at any point, he wouldn't care or report her to the authorities.
Homer & Sid: Is Sid ambrosia's other thief, or did I look up the wrong character?
