He pushed through the underbrush, not caring to see who did and didn't follow. He knew that somebody would. The forest was dark, but it seemed somehow less dark around him. There was no discernible light source, nothing that shone or glowed, just the shadows seeming to creep away from him as he walked.
He had left behind a few, but it didn't matter. There were more coming. He stopped midstride, kindly let them catch up. One from a tree, another toddling after a cat, and the two that approached him. There was a hand on his collar, and another one asking questions about the treasure. He looked a bit disguised with the fist bunched in his cravat, prying off the fingers, and shoving Cass away - he wasn't going to hurt her.
Messenger sighed. He had said that they would find out in a moment, but the boy who had approached him had at least been well mannered. Well mannered enough worth an acknowledgement. "You can have your pick." It wasn't really an answer.
The blonde woman couldn't exactly be ignored, either. He considered her a moment before he bent down to whisper in her ear. "You think there's another prize to be won?" Then he straightened with a smile, surveying the others, beckoning a few closer.
Again, he turned into the underbrush, and he didn't ask anyone to follow. They were almost there.
He emerged in another clearing. This was one small, and he stepped to the center, squinting into the trees that bordered it before he looked over his shoulder.
Dongs has been dropped from the event. (Everyone who got dropped got an insertion pass!)

To be honest, Erik had barely noticed the little girl who appeared shortly after him, or the familiar albino, and the other person who he was certain he had never seen before in his life appear. The guy with red and yellow hair looked equally as weird, and Erik wasn't sure whether following this man was a good idea or not anymore.
Well, it wasn't like he had anything to lose. After nearly falling head-first out of the tree, he managed to stumble after the red-haired weirdo. Briefly Erik mumbled something about him looking like a serial killer, and he broke into a laugh at the thought. Being killed by a rainbow haired serial killer in the forest would have been one way to go out.
Either way, he followed blindly, occasionally looking back to see if the little girl was doing okay, a tugging feeling in his gut telling him to look out for her despite the cloudy feeling in his head that hazed his better judgement. Then again that implied he had better judgement. After they reached the smaller clearing, Erik stopped walking and instead squinted at the man's hair, trying to distinguish a definite line between red and yellow.

ellie isn't sure what's going on, but when the tallest adult starts walking - his hair was is pretty neat!! - she follows behind him, hugging her cat to her chest as tight as she can without hurting him.
she feels scared and worried and doesn't really understand what's going on, but she's going to be brave! there are a lot of people here, nothing bad is going to happen, right?
ellie gulps, and prays to creation that nothing bad will happen. she does feel a little safer when they get to the clearing to be honest.

It was only seconds before she recalled why he looked so damn familiar, maybe even a little upset at herself for not recognizing him right away. Definitely not one of her cousins. She wished her cousins were anything as interesting.
And he dared to push her away. "Nice to see you, too, Jubilee." She faked a pout, like the spoiled princess she was, before dazzling eyes narrowed somewhat with a sly grin, as if he was just another man. Realizing his particularity just made her want to ignore that difference. "Well, surely I'd be expecting something that'll top the last time."
Cassiopeia kept her gaze on messenger, more or less - he was undeniably the most fascinating one present - but left some attention for the others as she skipped half a step behind the entity. There was a friendly face (to whom she spared a smile) and a kid, with an admirable sense of adventure, reminded Cass a little of herself when she was just a little munchkin. Another albino, too. She was both a little bothered and charmed.
She didn't walk into the clearing, instead wilted against the nearby tree. "So." Bare arms folded before her chest, chin tilted up at a particular angle; her whole gesture was pronouncing- impress me. @event peeps

Perking a brow, Kristoffer kept off away from most of the people. He'd never met them before and, considering the circumstances, he wasn't in the best area to start making new friends.
The only reason why he was even following the guy up front in the first place was because he felt different. There was something... magical... about the man and Kristoffer couldn't just walk away from that.
When the man, who's name was apparently Jubilee according to the other albino, stopped in the middle of the clearing, Kristoffer went on edge. He definitely prepared himself for anything dangerous. The way he looked over his shoulder was nerve-wracking. Not saying anything at all but smiling and looking over at everyone.

He didn't spare them much more than a glance to make sure that at least a few had come along before he crouched down. A gloved finger pressed into the dirt, and he marked a little x into the dirt, the dirt with the consistency of sand. It was the direct center of the clearing. He glanced up, absently to the flowers that lined the clearing, a trace of a smile on his lips. Standing, dusting off his hands, he turned to face the group. They were mostly just staring at him, and he considered them in return. The tallest and drunkest was his first choice. God forbid he entrust a child with this, and the albinos looked like princesses. Besides, drunks were always impressionable, and Messenger made a strong impression. He brushed past the rest, smiled at Erik and slung an arm over his shoulder. "You look strong." He started walking him into the clearing. "You can have first pick if you dig it up."Pausing just before the x marking the spot, he pursed his lips. "It's nothing money can buy. It'll be worth your valiant effort, no worries." Then, deciding he might as well offer, dropped the arm from around the man's shoulders, and turned with hands spread towards the others. "Unless anyone else wants to do it."There was use for them yet, either way.

erik looked back at ellie one last time before he stood back and watched over everyone else. he would want to go and hug her, tell her silently that it was okay and that everything was going to be fine. then again, he'd be lying, as he wasn't entirely certain himself of what was going to happen. his gaze flickered when one of the albinos - someone he was reminded of distantly - smiling at him and he grinned back. she must have been nice.
mid-thought about how strange of a name "jubilee" was, he felt an arm slung around his shoulders. "i do?" he frowned, not realizing that he looked strong, before pushing out his chest slightly. if this jubilee character said he was strong, then it must be a fact. "do you have a shovel?" well he might have used his own hands, except for the fact that he wasn't entirely okay with getting his hands that dirty. treasure smeasure it wasn't worth getting gross over.
everything else messenger said flew over his head as he realized he was no longer holding on to his booze.

nothing money can buy...? ellie wonders what that means.
she thinks of something she'd like that money can't buy and only one thing pops into her mind, her daddy's love. but then again, if it's not earned herself, can she even call it real love? ellie also doesn't know if she can trust the man with the pretty hair.
pretty hair doesn't equal trustworthy after all.
she doesn't think she'd be able to dig to find the treasure though. she's not big enough, probably not strong enough, probably not brave enough either. she snuggles the black cat in her arms before he pulls himself out of ellie's embrace and jumps to the ground, landing on all fours.
"wait where are you goi-."
she doesn't get to finish her sentence before raul starts to make his way towards the man with pretty hair.
the cat looks up at the pretty haired man and meows at him a few times before trotting towards the x written in the dirt and starts to paw at the dirt as if he's trying to dig for the treasure.
"raul, what are you doing, d-don't do that..." she says.
she doesn't want to go get him, but she doesn't want him to continue to do whatever he's doing. she doesn't want to draw the adults' attention to herself. she'll feel scared, and the adults might yell at her.
this is, after all, an adult party by her standards.

Curiosity tugged Cass closer to the center of the scene, by a few steps till she stopped behind the little girl.
She held on to her skirt and leaned forward. "'x' marks the spot..." She muttered with an eyeroll. It wouldn't be as much fun or valuable when the target was marked so obviously. "Not much of a treasure when there isn't any danger in the way now is it?" Even if it was 'nothing money can buy'... however few there were. Trust? Love? They were just fallacies that people consecrated; the vulnerability of it was laughable.

Everyone seemed eager or apprehensive and Kristoffer was definitely the latter. There was something off-putting when the strange being went out of his way to persuade one of them to dig first.
Kristoffer knew that getting to the treasure first meant the first pick, but he wanted to see what happened when someone dug the treasures up. He didn't want to be the sorry one and end up getting hurt or tricked. It didn't sound all that pleasant.
The other albino mentioned that there wasn't any danger, but how could they know that? What if the danger wasn't obvious until the treasures were dug up? Hadn't she ever heard of pyramid raids?

The man was agreeable – Messenger nodded along amicably, giving pause when Erik asked for a shovel. Of course, a shovel. Humans, they needed these things handed to them. "Over there," He indicated a shovel stuck in the dirt by where he'd marked. He sounded casual, as if it had been there the whole time and Erik had simply missed it. Maybe he had. A mewling noise drew his attention, down to the ground where there was a black cat scratching at the ground. Smiling, Messenger kneeled, watched it dig a moment and then glanced up to the little girl shouting after it. She stood aside, as if afraid to join the circle. She was just a kid, but he's never been particularly sympathetic to humans of any age. He scooped up the cat and strode over. He straightened, flashing Ellie a smile before he turned to Cass. He cocked his head. No danger? The white haired man seemed to be smarter, or perhaps just more cautious. More aware. Messenger cast him a knowing glance, and nodded - towards the forest, towards what was outside the clearing. Beyond the clearing, something whispered. Somethings. It was soft, it was faint from the forest and it was a busy noise, with no distinguishable words. It was in no language they'd understand anyways. It sounded like the voices of the rustling leaves.

erik paused for a moment, lost in thought as his mind seemed to wander to the finer things in life - before he remembered that he was nominated to be the guy to dig up whatever this strange treasure was. whatever. he couldn't say that he could think of a better place to be, so when he took the challenging task of walking over to where the shovel was nestled, it took him a bit longer than he would have liked to grab it and make his way over to ellie and her cat. it was a cute little thing, and he didn't want to hurt it or, worse, get the poor thing dirty, so he did the second best thing - erik looked over at ellie and nudged "raul" over towards the owner. with a chuckle, he pointed over at ellie, mumbling something along the lines of "you should go back over there, kitty." and before long he's getting to work where the cat left off. maybe if he hadn't convinced himself that he wasn't on a mission from an angel, he wouldn't have been digging a hole in the middle of the woods. there was that brief moment where he wondered if he was just imagining all the people around him, but then he figured that even if he was he could have been doing worse things. it doesn't take long before the only thing he's able to focus on is digging the dirt out, trying his hardest to pay some attention if his name, or something close to his description, was mentioned. @nan04 @cassiopeia KRISTOFFER KROWE MESSENGER

ellie watched the silver haired man as he nudged her kitten and almost ran to pick him up, but the man with the fancy hair picked him up before she could. he - the man with the fancy hair - flashed her a smile before returning the kitten to her arms, she smiled softly at him before she turned to smile at her kitten.
quickly though, her smile turned to a frown.
"raul don't you do that again, what if-." she stops mid-sentence.
the wind whipsers through the trees and ellie shivers and holds raul closer to her body. her jacket does little to keep out the whispers from the trees and ellie lets her imagination run away with her for a second.
she sees the shadows in the night turn into little monsters and she almost jumps out of her skin. it's just her imagination though, her innocent, childish, imagination.
it doesn't stop her from holding raul a little closer to her body though.

She was keen, mirroring Messenger's action as he tilted his head at her, before a faint grin curled on her lips—Aha, so there was a catch.
The hazy rustling noise drew her eyes away. It was a vague and ominous sound and just the right amount of eerie. Cassiopeia tried to make sense of the sound for a second but the effort bore no fruit. A million little creatures whispering chatting amongst themselves, watching from the unseen shadows of the forest around them. That was what it sounded like, but she couldn't possibly pick out anything from that.
That conclusion left Cassiopeia very unsatisfied, so she moved towards it, past the soft little girl and ignoring the man who was in his own world—first man she'd seen who's so gung-ho about digging—walking from one edge of the clearing to the other in steady strides.
There was less light in the forest than it should be at this time of the day, and Cass could swore the sunset came just a little faster than normal. Maybe it was just her, though. She looked behind her shoulder at the fiery-haired entity then back, and, as if she could see what was beyond the darkness that surrounded them, reached out her hand.
Just, hopefully, it was nothing that bites.

When he heard the noises, the strange whispering riding on the wind, his eyes widened in worry. He glanced around the area and tried not to hang around in the heavy shadows, trying to stick close to the other people. Groups were important to be in. He'd always been taught to stay in a group. Nevermind the fact that he'd managed to wander to where he was on his own. It was only when the strange guy appeared did the rest of the people.
Kristoffer was scared and it was starting to become obvious the longer he stood there. "Uh.. should we really trust this guy?" Kristoffer asked, referring to the other-worldly man. "Don't you hear that...noise?" The second sentence was more of a whisper, almost inaudible, though still able to be heard.
