She quirked a brow, rocking back and forth on her heels but not expecting much. If he hadn't remembered her already she doubted he'd suddenly remember her now, so she was caught off guard when he actually did.
Shani brightened suddenly, clapping her hands when he hit the mark. Vaguely, uncertainty ringing in his tone, but it was something, some sort of confirmation from his end. "Asaria." She said, laughing. "Then I'm not crazy, it was you!"
Suddenly, she remembered the camera that hung from her neck, and just as suddenly she lifted it and snapped a picture of Kieran. No posing, no warning, just catching a moment the way it was. "For memory." She said, catching the picture by the edge.

She seemed happy that he remembered who she was, so he smiled. It was like a master was praising his dog for doing something right, and if Kieran had a tail it would have definitely been wagging.
"Asaria, right," he muttered, even though he had no idea what her last name had been. The first letter was all that came to him and he was lucky it came at all. It was a long time ago and his memory was horrible, so remembering people's names was difficult sometimes. Faces wasn't as hard, but thankfully this time it clicked.
He was still mulling over things in his head when a bright flash and a click brought him back to his senses. Once the spots stopped dancing in front of his eyes he looked down at her, and she was waving around a polariod to get it to dry. Had she just taken a picture of him, like this? He probably looked like a mess.
"Uh, right." Suddenly a bit self-conscious (which was weird as he usually was confident and on top of the world in this state) he glanced away, and then got an idea as the confidence started to return. Looking back down at her he shrugged his shoulders a bit before making his move.
"Well, there are other things that can help with memory. Like remembering a person. Like...their phone number." Oh, god, this was going horribly. "What I'm saying is...can I get your number?"
Smooth. Usually he was a lady killer, not a mood killer. Still, the worst she could say was no.
"I guess I just don't wanna lose you again. I suppose. I mean, if you don't wanna you don't have to and..." He should just stop now.

She fanned the polaroid in the air, waiting for it to dry, glancing up at Kieran with a reassuring grin before she went back to waiting for the picture to show. She wasn't going to do anything with it, only keep it for herself as a memento of this coincidence.
Blinking, surprised, as he went on Shani shook the film absently, breaking into a grin. He stumbled over his words, but it was almost endearing. It wasn't enough to put her off entirely. Even if he wasn't all there right now, she couldn't help but be intrigued. Nothing particularly special or intimate had happened that night they'd met before, but it had to mean something if they had been thrown back together here and now. Shani didn't like to say she believed in fate, not in terms of something absolute and beyond control, but she did believe fate could throw hints.
While he trailed off, Shani fumbled in her purse - it was always a mess, filled with all sorts of trinkets and necessities, and it took a moment of digging before she pulled out a Sharpie. She held the cap in her teeth as she scrawled the numbers on the back of the polaroid of him, along with her name. In case he had trouble remembering it again. Then she held it out. "You'll get it back to me, right?"

Kieran was sure she would just laugh at him and leave, but she didn't. Instead the girl grabbed a Sharpie from her purse and started to scrawl something on the back of the polaroid, and he wasn't quite sure what was going on.
Soon enough she handed the picture to him and when he looked at the back, a number was written across it with her name, and she asked if he was going to get the picture back to her. He couldn't help but smile a little at his good fortune, and he slipped the photo into his pocket as he looked back up at her, tossing his bangs out of his face with a flick of his neck.
"Of course I will," he responded, confidence surging again, and he was definitely going to get over-confident. "In fact, I could totally get this back to you this weekend at the Lotus around, errrr, seven?"

She popped the cap back onto the marker and tossed it back into her bag, her hair falling around her face. Shani shook the curls from her face and flashed him a smile.
He seemed eager, he seemed cocky and he didn't seem like Shani's usual sort of company. But she would give anyone a chance, especially when their paths crossed the way they had. But she pursed her lips and pretended to consider it. "Okay." She quirked a brow, reaching up on instinct and pushing a few strands of coppery hair back from his face. "I'll see you then."
@kieran finito i guess
