How pretty. Cecil wondered if Robert simply didn't care for the touching or if he was just too sleepy to comprehend the position they were in. Either way, Cecil wasn't complaining at all. At the boy's question, he simply gave a smile, not pulling his hands away.
"I should. But if you're still sick, shouldn't the adult help you get better?" He looked down at the boy, his gaze on Robert's face.

"I can be sick on my own, thank you very much. I have a valid reason to stay off school. You don't. You're not my guardian." He said, a little louder than before in a stone cold voice. He snuggled into the crook of the man's neck, but wanted to make no point about it. He was ill - he could pass it off as ignorance.
His headache throbbed - by now it was all bravado. His nails dug into his own thigh, feeling the fever almost taking a better stronghold on him, since he didn't manage to take any medicine last night.

"Isn't taking care of my cute student a good enough reason?" He laughed, noting how Robert had snuggled against his neck, making Cecil move his hand down onto the boy's back, as if to keep him there. Cecil leaned in, his lips against the boy's ear. "But do you really want me to go? It certainly doesn't look like it right now."
But he pulled back almost immediately. "Besides, it's your fault you're here in the first place. Sleeping in my car, I ddin't know where to take you home."

"No." He replied flatly to his ridiculous notions. He was sure the teacher was just making fun of him right now.
But at his second question, Robert didn't say anything. He just breathed quietly, as if he hadn't heard anything at all.
"Doesn't mean you're justified to not teach." He moved away from his shoulder, eyes opening slightly, now staring at the teacher with a listless kind of wonder, before turning away to stare at the ceiling instead, eyes fluttering as if he was sleepy, not being lazy.

"I suppose not," he replied truthfully, but not making a move to get out of the bed. He enjoyed having the boy in his arms probably a little too much. His stare took him a little bit aback, though he quickly recovered, tilting his head a little to the side in question, watching as the boy turned his eyes away from him.
"Well then, since I'm not going to school anyway," he spoke, almost forcibly, as if trying to get the message across to Robert. "And neither are you, I reckon, would you like some breakfast? And then we can get you some medicine."

"You're ridiculous." Robert passively mentioned, but made no other move, lying still beside the older man. He closed his eyes for a moment, and nodded, as if he was embarrassed about the show of weakness.
"I don't want to move." The boy then said, throwing all his talk about being reasonable out of the window.

There we go. He was becoming a bit more responsive - actually, Cecil supposed this was probably their first "real" conversation. It was nice, the boy was amusing, and he actually got to see what Robert was actually like. Still difficult to read, though.
"Alright, then." He pulled away from Robert, making a move to get out of the bed as he pulled away the covers off him. "I'll bring them here, so you won't have to get up. Just get some rest, alright?"

Robert frowned. It was subtle, but on a passive person's face it was notable, surely. He lay completely flat on the bed when Cecil moved out of it, arms placed across his stomach and legs together, as if he was sitting in his own grave.
"I want to watch TV."

This sort of behavior from Robert was surprising, definitely, but he didn't mind. It was cute, to him, and Cecil had no problem going back towards the boy, chuckling at his position.
"Since when were you so spoiled, Robert?" It was a rhetorical question, one he presented as he slipped a hand under the boy's neck, another under his knee. "I'll take you there. So hold on." With that, he lifted the smaller figure up, keeping him close to his body.

It was an idea from the back of his head, but Robert had no idea the other would actually do it. He enjoyed it though, resting his head on his shoulder, arms sitting on his stomach. He yawned audibly, but otherwise didn't say a thing. He felt slightly weightless, light and free, and being carried around was kind of fun, anyway.

Ah, how cute he was being, despite his earlier protests. Did he actually enjoy being spoiled like this? Cecil needed to take note of that - for future reference.
He pushed open the door with his back, oddly reminiscent of last night, before he carried Robert out, immediately meeting the living room. He placed the boy on the couch in front of the television, before handing him the remote.
"Here you go. I'll make breakfast for you. What do you feel like eating?" he asked, making his way to the kitchen.

Robert stretched his neck, kicked his legs up and down for a moment, before yawning, reaching to the coffee table for the remote, lazily flicking channels until he got to the morning news.
"I don't care." Robert half-heartedly offered him an answer, being pre-occupied with statistical deaths and traffic jams.

Hearing the noise from the television, Cecil turned, a little confused at the sight of the anchor and chaos. Weird for a kid his age to watch the news, but then again, Robert was an enigma. At the reply, Cecil turned his back, nodding as he tried to remember what kind of food was good for the sick. He never really cared much when he got sick (which didn't happen very often), and usually just ate whatever but he supposed he could cook something healthier for the boy sitting in his couch.
So he set off to work, grateful he had enough ingredients. In a few minutes, he had the rice porridge ready, still steaming as he placed it on a tray and made his way to the living room, placing said tray on the table in front of the couch. "Here. Eat up, you need it." He seated himself beside Robert, close but not too close. "Careful, it's hot. Ah, would you like me to feed you?" He smiled, a twinkle in his eye as his gaze moved to the boy.

There had been another murder in the South, the report said. The third one this year, and the year hadn't been around long. Robert frowned, a thought trailing to his sister - she'd be alright, right? Then again, of course she would. She was really clever. Of course she couldn't get caught in a blade and die without him finding her again.
When Cecil sat down beside him, Robert never gave him any conscious attention. He only nodded numbly, not really caring either way. It didn't matter to him, because the weather was going to come on.

He wasn't sure what he was nodding to; the food or when he said he was going to feed him? Either way, he wasn't paying him any attention - and while it didn't make him angry, didn't make him lose his temper (a rather difficult thing to do), he wanted to change it. So he reached out, taking Robert by the chin and pulling his head to face him.
"You really should look at others when they talk to you. It's rude." The smile was on his face, much more cold than his usual ones, eyes piercing as he looked at Robert -- before letting go, the smile on his face back to its usual warmth. "Alright?"
