Things weren't as awkward as he supposed they would have been. No things were actually going fairly well, if he did say so himself. They had gotten some baked goods, and while they were still warm, had found a small park not far, but far enough away from the party. Hadas didn't exactly wanna leave the car yet, but he didn't want to eat in Rocky's car, especially as something as messy as crumb cake. Why did he have to pick such a messy thing? "I'll pay you back when we go back. My wallet is in my pants with, you know, pockets." He smiled sheepishly and pointed at his current set of trousers, with the ridiculously baggy legs. "Thank you though, buying this was rather nice."
"Should we uh, step out now?"

Rocky was already digging into the bag for one of the pastriees he'd picked out when Hadas asked to step out of the truck. He perked a brow, pausing, smiled and gave a nod before taking his hand out again and got out of the truck. "Hold on."
Once out, he moved the seat forward and grabbed a thick blanket, walked to the back of the truck, and let the tailgate down. The blanket was soft, not one of those scratchy ones people always pushed off onto guests when they sleep over and need an extra blanket. No, this one was smooth, like cotton, and he spread it out onto the truck bed.
"Lets sit back here, okay?" He asked with a grin. If they ever wanted to go deeper into the park, they could, but he wasn't really feeling up to walking far right then. He wanted a sturdy place to put his bag of cakes and his drink, not a fluffy carpet of grass.

"I've always wanted to hang out in the back of a pickup." He wasn't kidding. His father never let him in the back of his pickup truck, mainly because he had construction stuff in the back.
He crawled into the back of the truck, and smiled. He crossed his legs. "This is definitely better than that party. I'm really grateful that you got me out of there."
"Ask away Rocky." He was comfortable now.

He grinned and handed over the pastries once he'd grabbed the one he wanted to eat right then, ignoring the sticky sugar getting onto the tips of his fingers. "Hey, it's no problem. I like a good party every now and again, but they can get so overdone, you know? Besides, you didn't look very comfortable."
The cake was sweet when he took a bite, letting out a soft hum of satisfaction at the flavor. It didn't taste quite like how Mama made it, but it was close enough to make him feel at home again.
"Ask away, huh?" Rocky commented, pushing the food to the side of his mouth so he could talk more clearly. "Well, can you bake?"
He figured he'd find something to ask about the boy, seeing how he didn't seem to mind answering questions about himself. Rocky smirked at the thought of Hadas baking something in the kitchen, finding it cute. Something about him seemed the type.

"I wasn't." No he was far from comfortable. Parties weren't exactly his seen, but he was getting paid to dance. His passions were able to feed himself.
"I used to bake a lot when I lived at home. I'm a decent baker." He went through the bag, and pulled out his crumb cake. "I can't do anything fancy though, can you bake Rocky?" He didn't bake at his apartment though, because it was small and he really didn't want to make a mess.
"Have you always had an interest in cars?"

"Ha, I had a feeling you could bake," He said with a grin. "Nah, I'm not a great baker, but put me in front of a grill and I can make your dreams come true." He took another bite, licking his fingers afterwards, not caring that it was a pointless effort. He was only going to get them sticky again.
The southerner nodded at the latter question, however, smirking. He gave his truck a few firm pats, causing the metal bed to rumble. "Yeah, I've always loved cars, engines, grease... All that stereotypical farmer boy stuff. Gotta love it." His eyebrows quirked up a bit at that as he looked over at Hadas and he flashed him a wink.

He took a bite. Hadas didn't pin himself as a baker.
"Did you grow up on a farm? Sometimes I wish I grew up some place a lot more rural." Seemed a lot more quieter than the hustle and bustle of where he grew up.
Did he just wink at him? Was Hadas seeing right? He smiled in return, his face heated up. He was kinda glad it was dark. ROCKY VANCE

The brunette shook his head, letting out a soft sigh, "No, I didn't grow up on a farm, but the area was rural. We had a lot of land, a garage... My father worked on cars in there, sometimes. I'd go in to help him or see what he was up to." He seemed to get a little quiet at that memory, gazing off towards the trees as he remembered. Rocky hated his father, but there was a time where he didn't. He wasn't always the deadbeat Rocky most commonly remembered. Once upon a time his father was a decent man. It was a shame how that wasn't the case anymore.
"Where did you grow up?" He asked suddenly, without much warning that he had finished his reminiscent session. "You said you didn't grow up in a rural area? You're from the city?"

"Sounds nice. My dad's been building things his whole life, but it wasn't really his passion, he'd tell me." He didn't want Hadas to work hard, he'd tell him repeatedly. He wanted him to live easy, but then again, they haven't talked much since he started wearing dresses instead of pants.
"In between the city and suburbs, my dad built buildings out here in the city, more in the city though." Right here in Nova. "Not really interesting, I'm afraid."
"You have any pets?"

"Sounds pretty interesting to me. You're native to the island, then? That's pretty cool. I always thought it was kinda lame to be American. What's so great about it? We get made fun of all the time."
Oops, he accidentally let out a bit of hate there, didn't he? Well, he was glad that Hadas moved on to a different topic soon after. The thought of animals helped him feel better. "I wish. I want a huge dog; big and fluffy," he said with a wide grin, spreading his arms out to further show off what he meant by size. "What about you? Do you have any pets? Heh, I just imagined you with a huge dog at your side. A petite guy with a huge dog as his protector."

"Yes." He was in fact, born and raised in Nova. "I've never left either. America has so much history though, Nova just kind of appeared."
"A leonberger pup, he's a bit too big for my apartment though. My older sister breeds them." He scooted a bit closer to Rocky. "At the moment, he'd probably lick someone to death rather than be a guard dog. He looks a bit like a lion right now, I need to get him trimmed." He had also recently taken residence in Hadas' bed, and he couldn't seem to escape his fur. "You and him would get along, I can see it."

He supposed that much was true. America did have a lot of history. Rocky gave a shrug and nodded, then practically beamed when Hadas mentioned his dog. That's exactly the type of dog he liked. Not only that? It fit with the image he thought up for the dancer. He almost doubled over laughing, imagining the dog trying to get in his face, only to have a mouth full of hair instead of puppy affection. "He sounds fantastic!"
When he sat up again, he noticed the dancer scoot closer, though Rocky didn't point it out. Instead, he moved a little closer, too, brought a leg up to arch, and leaned back, putting his weight on his hand. His other leg hug off the edge of the tailgate, swinging freely. "I'd really like to meet him," he went on to say, smiling sweetly.
As he looked at him, Rocky could really notice how cute the dancer really was, despite it being dark outside. His hair looked soft and his features did, too. It made his heart speed up a bit, so he looked away and up instead. "The stars are out. You can really see them out here, huh?"

"If you want a mini-horse." Hadas laughed softly. "Come over sometime. It might be a little snug though." Two people and a big dog. Did he notice before that Rocky smelled nice?
He looked at him as Rocky gazed at him, and Hadas could hear his heartbeat in his head. Something told him to scoot even closer, to the point in which he could feel Rocky's side against his. He looked up too. "Yeah, you, uh, really can see the stars tonight. Its really nice."

Rocky let out a chuckle. "There's nothing wrong with that. Means you have a mighty steed to ride off into battle with." That caused him to bring his attention away from the stars and to Hadas' face again. He was looking at the stars, too. And while his attention was taken, Rocky leaned over and pressed a chaste kiss to Hadas' cheek. He really hoped the other didn't mind it.
He pulled back afterwards, still looking at him. He honestly couldn't believe he'd done that. It was rude and uncalled for, not to mention pushy. The southerner's heart pounded in his chest after that, mainly from worry.

Let the record state that Hadas never really had any interest in his own gender, but this, this was much different. He felt some kind of natural pull to Rocky. "Can I be a wizard? I can't see myself swinging around a battleaxe." That was funny, kinda, right?
After that, that's when Rocky leaned in and kissed his cheek. He didn't shy away from his touch, instead when Rocky leaned back, he leaned a bit over him and kissed Rocky's cheek in return, he felt like a fifteen year old again on a first date. Afterwards, he pulled away and placed a hand on his chest. He could feel Rocky's heartbeat, it felt as though it was going a mile a minute just like his.
