"And I told you," She tugged him more insistently to her car. "I don't want anything from you."She couldn't blame him for bringing it up, but it didn't bother her in the sense that it should have. It was only human nature to use people and she wasn't an exception, but it still hurt like an old bruise.
She looked at him to contribute in her effort to keep him balanced, and she raised her eyebrows while he squinted. "What? Is there something on my face?" She didn't really think that they looked alike, but it was just an offhand thought. Last time she checked, her makeup was flawless.

He huffed a sigh, still certain she would want something, but letting her lead him anyways, even if he'd have to return the favour eventually. He wasn't thinking that far ahead. Just that his feet hurt and it was good to have something to keep him pitching into the ground again. He's a bit more aware of his stinging palms, and his steps are slowed as he dusts them off against his shirt.
"May-be." He sticks his tongue out. He's insistent on hating her, and making sure she knows that he hates her. He can't even remember why he hates her, exactly. "What's your name again?"

She dug her hand into her bag once more as her car came into sight. It was a nice model, but the color was an ugly hybrid of dark green and something else she wasn't sure of. Her hand caught her keys and she fumbled for a moment before pressing a button that made it unlock and light up like a beacon.
"Ta-ra." She sounds the whole two syllables carefully, as slow as his drunk mind would process it, she thought. "It's really not that hard to remember."
She carefully helped him to the passenger side because she fully expects him to face plant. She doesn't want anything pertaining to vomit to stain the vehicle and having him in it made her nervous. But she was in too deep to kick him out on the street, so she shoved her keys in the ignition with more determination than was necessary.

It was practically commonplace for Angel, or rather it once had been, getting into cars with strangers. Did she even constitute a stranger? Either way this felt like some strange parody or reversal, and he snickered as she led him around to the passenger seat. It seemed funny, everything was a joke.
He swung the door open and plopped into the passenger seat, slamming the door shut out of a drunken clumsiness rather than anger.
For a few moments, as Ta-ra reintroduced herself, Angel stared out the windshield and nodded complacently, as if he had known it all along.
Then he turned abruptly to look at her, leaning across the seats. "I'm Angel." he said matter-of-factly, as if she might have forgotten his name too.
Introductions out of the way, he lost interest in her, more or less, as the car started. He squirmed in his seat like a restless child, pulled open the glove compartment to rifle through her things.

She started the car and was only half paying attention to Angel and she sidled the vehicle away from the curb. "I know your name." She replied, paused while he dug through her glove compartment and prayed he wouldn't do something to the insurance papers. "Both of them."
She turned on the radio, twisted the knob as she tried to find a station before giving up and putting her hands on the wheel. She didn't trust Angel's judgement towards music while drunk, but was really just water under the bridge at this point. "You wanna pick a station?"

He shrugged, already losing track of what had come before. So what she knew his name? Plenty of people knew his name. Though when she tacked on that she knew both, he narrowed his eyes and glowered at her. It probably didn't come off as threatening as he'd hoped or assumed.
His eyes flickered to the radio, and he shut the glove compartment with a bang. "Yeah." He reached out to fiddle with the knob himself - there were late night talk stations, pop countdowns, some smooth jazz, interspersed with white noise, and he finally settled on something piping an upbeat club remix of something or other. Once he was satisfied, he sat back with arms crossed and looked over to Tara.
"So what are you doing this for?"

Tara flexes her hands around the wheel, keeps her eyes on the road and refuses to answer for a good few seconds. She chews her lip before deciding that she should answer. "Does it matter?" She's not feeling too up to arguing. It probably wouldn't have gotten them anywhere. It certainly hadn't last time. "You needed a ride, I'm giving you one. What else is there?" Granted, not many strangers would just give someone looking like him a ride without wanting something, so she supposed that she couldn't blame him for asking. She tapped her fingers on the wheel to the beat of the song while she reasoned with herself.

It wasn't that Angel didn't like favours - he just didn't trust them. Experience told him that nothing was free and everybody wanted something. Usually, it was simple, usually he knew exactly what people wanted.
But her, she was his sister, and that was no reason to trust her. His father hadn't let blood tie him down, had he? Angel hated his mother too, but now he felt like he had to side with her. One or other - but he wanted to be his own side. He was too drunk to be thinking about this.
The alcohol coloured his cheeks and welled up his throat. He turned away from Tara, put down his window and clenched his jaw.
